EPHS-Chapter 277 The Story of Shinra Tsubaki

“Sona, let’s stop here for now. I’ll be leaving.” Content with his actions, Tenraku bid farewell to President Sama and left the Student Council room.

With flushed cheeks, Sitri Sona slumped in her chair, panting heavily. Looking at her torn and tattered clothes, she couldn’t help but feel a wave of embarrassment and anger. That bastard had ruined her clothes so many times!

Of course, Tenraku was unaware of Sona’s frustration. After exiting the Student Council room, he spotted Shinra Tsubaki waiting outside.

“Tenraku-dono,” Shinra Tsubaki’s usually cold face showed a faint blush as she saw him. It was evident that the Vice President-sama had intentionally stood guard outside to prevent anyone from disturbing Tenraku and Sona.

“Tsubaki San, do you have some time to chat?” Tenraku’s lips curled up slightly.

Shinra Tsubaki hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded. Under Shinra Tsubaki’s guidance, the two of them entered an elegantly decorated lounge.

Taking a seat on the sofa near the window, Tenraku stretched lazily and spoke, “By the way, Tsubaki San, this is the first time we’re spending time alone together, isn’t it?”

As Sitri Sona’s Queen, Shinra Tsubaki usually accompanied her in all her activities. Whenever Tenraku had any troubles, it was Shinra Tsubaki who helped resolve them.

“Tenraku-dono, we… we…” Shinra Tsubaki’s face turned red at Tenraku’s ambiguous words, and she became somewhat flustered.

Whether it was Sitri Sona or Shinra Tsubaki, they always maintained an image of an icy beauty. If the other students at school were to see Vice President-sama showing such embarrassment and confusion in front of Tenraku, their jaws would surely drop in disbelief.

“Well, don’t be nervous. I was just joking,” Tenraku said with a smile.

“I’m a little thirsty, Tsubaki San. Could you make me a cup of tea?”

Feeling relieved, Shinra Tsubaki quickly prepared a teapot and poured a cup of hot tea for Tenraku. She was also troubled inside, as she usually remained calm and composed when dealing with others, just like President-sama. However, whenever she faced Tenraku, she would become flustered and even have difficulty thinking straight.

“Tenraku-dono, please enjoy the tea,” Shinra Tsubaki said, presenting the freshly brewed cup of black tea to him.

After taking a sip, Tenraku nodded in approval. There were many intricacies to making tea, and even the best quality tea leaves wouldn’t produce satisfactory results if one didn’t understand the nuances. However, Shinra Tsubaki was clearly adept at the art of tea brewing. The tea she prepared was on par with Akeno’s.

“Tsubaki San, I assume you already know about me and Sona?” Tenraku suddenly asked, setting his teacup aside.

“I… I…” Shinra Tsubaki hesitated for a moment, her face turning red. But as she looked at Tenraku’s seemingly smiling expression, she eventually lowered her head and said, “Yes.”

If it had been once or twice, they might not have noticed, but with so many incidents, how could they not have figured it out?!

“As you have guessed, Sona and I are in a romantic relationship. However, Sona doesn’t want our relationship to be made public for now.”

“As Sona’s Peerage, I hope you, Tsubaki San, won’t misunderstand her. It’s not a matter of mistrust towards all of you. It’s simply her modesty as a young girl. I believe you can understand that, right?”

“We… we do understand…”

“That’s good. Since there are things Sona can’t say, I’ll say them on her behalf. She has always been proud to have reliable Peerage like all of you.”

“We feel the same way. It is our great honor to follow President-sama.”

The atmosphere relaxed considerably, and as they spoke about following President-sama, Shinra Tsubaki’s face lit up with a genuine smile.

Just like Rias and Akeno, the relationship between Shinra Tsubaki and Sitri Sona had long surpassed the boundaries of a simple Peerage and master servant. They were more like sisters, friends, and partners. Their daily interactions and battles had solidified their inseparable bond.

“Oh, by the way, since we have the opportunity, would you mind telling me about your own story, Tsubaki San?” Tenraku shifted the topic, seemingly thinking of something.

“M-my story?” Shinra Tsubaki looked astonished.

“Well, I’ve been troubling you many times, but I still don’t know much about you. So, I would like to learn more about you,” Tenraku said candidly.

“Of course, if it’s inconvenient, then I apologize, Tsubaki San. You don’t have to share if you don’t want to,” He added. Tenraku didn’t hide his intentions. He genuinely wanted to know more about Shinra Tsubaki.

Shinra Tsubaki met Tenraku’s expectant gaze and felt her face grow hot. Her heart raced, and she inexplicably felt a sense of happiness. Although she had never experienced such feelings before, she understood why she was feeling this way. However, as soon as she thought about Sona-sama, she quickly suppressed the fluttering in her heart.

She took a deep breath and, under Tenraku’s eager gaze, slowly began to share some details about herself. Just like her family name suggested, Shinra Tsubaki was a descendant of the prestigious Shinra clan.

The Shinra clan was a well-known family of magic wielders. Similar to the Himejima clan, where Akeno’s mother belonged, they were one of the five powerful families that secretly protected and controlled the supernatural aspects of the country.

According to Shinra Tsubaki, she awakened her Sacred Gear’s ability from birth. As one of the chosen individuals by the gods, she had the power to summon Demonic Beings that didn’t exist in this world through mirrors.

However, this uncontrollable power only brought misfortune and disaster to her. Constantly causing trouble for those around her, so Shinra Tsubaki was despised by her own family from a young age. Moreover, as she grew older, her Sacred Gear’s uncontrollable power became even more frequent, to the point where it started to affect her own life.

To resolve this cursed ability, Shinra Tsubaki’s parents sought the help of Devils, specifically the House of Sitri at the time. The House of Sitri helped Shinra Tsubaki gain control over her abilities, but the condition was that she would forever serve as Sona’s Peerage.

Forming a connection with Devils was absolutely unacceptable for the so-called noble families, so the Shinra family exiled Shinra Tsubaki and her parents.

After listening to Shinra Tsubaki’s story, Tenraku couldn’t help but sigh. Just like Akeno, this Vice President-sama had also experienced a tumultuous life…
