EPHS-Chapter 278 It’s Not Up to You to Decide

“I didn’t expect that you, Tsubaki San, also had such an unfortunate past. It must have been very difficult,” Tenraku expressed with deep sympathy. “Do you still hold resentment towards those people from the Shinra family who expelled you and your parents?”

“Perhaps I did hold some resentment in the past, but now it doesn’t matter anymore,” Shinra Tsubaki replied. A tinge of melancholy appeared on her beautiful face, but it was quickly replaced by determination.

Since the moment she and her parents were expelled, she had no connection with those people anymore. The present Shinra Tsubaki was just Sona Sitri’s Peerage and follower. This was how it was now and how it would be in the future.

“Sona has truly gained an excellent Queen. I am even a bit envious,” Tenraku remarked sincerely. He made it clear that he was praising her, without any hidden meaning. Shinra Tsubaki blushed again, feeling relieved after finally calming down.

“Tsubaki San, don’t underestimate yourself. Your excellence and loyalty as a Peerage are unquestionable. Sona cherishes you greatly, and I, too, have a high opinion of you,” Tenraku said, standing up and walking closer to the girl. He continued, “Well then, Tsubaki San, will you follow Sona for the rest of your life?”

“Yes, I will follow Sona-sama for the rest of my life!” Shinra Tsubaki responded without hesitation, even though she could hear her own heart pounding as Tenraku approached. Meanwhile, Tenraku’s smile grew even wider.

“Although Sona currently doesn’t want to make our relationship public, there will come a day when she becomes my wife, just like Rias and Akeno,” Tenraku declared. “Tsubaki San, since I am very fond of you as well, would you consider joining my Harem?”

Joining my Harem… Harem… Harem…

Perhaps only Tenraku in the world could say such things so calmly. At least, that’s how Shinra Tsubaki perceived it. Her mind became blank, with Tenraku’s voice echoing in her ears.

“No, it’s not… Tenraku-sama…”

“We… we…”

Feeling flustered and with her face reddening, Shinra Tsubaki was completely thrown into disarray. It seemed like Tenraku had just confessed to her, hadn’t he?!

Amused by the girl’s confused state, Tenraku wore a satisfied smirk. Normally, Vice President-sama was an imposing ice queen, but this flustered and shy appearance was incredibly adorable.

Though it had some mischievous elements to it, Tenraku wasn’t joking. He genuinely had a strong interest in Shinra Tsubaki and wanted to include her in his Harem.

It would be strange if he didn’t have such thoughts about such an outstanding girl, right? Moreover, this guy’s ambitions didn’t stop there. He had set his sights on the other Peerage members of President-Sama as well.

After successfully conquering the King, why not conquer the Peerage members too, just like he did with Rias’ group?

Of course, these things could be done slowly and there was no rush.

“Tsubaki San, you don’t need to make a decision right now,” Tenraku assured her. “Take your time to consider it. I’ll be looking forward to your answer…”

Leaning closer to her ear, Tenraku whispered with a wicked tone, then without lingering any longer, he waved his hand and left the lounge.

As Shinra Tsubaki watched Tenraku leave, she slumped down to the ground…

In the following days, Tenraku returned to his peaceful and leisurely routine. He attended school with Rias and the others, went to the Kendo Club after school to provide guidance, and occasionally dealt with lost Devils or other resentful spirits together with the girls.

However, this calm period passed in the blink of an eye as news arrived from the Underworld. The match between Tenraku and Sairaorg had been scheduled, and it would take place in ten days.

“Sairaorg is not a simple opponent, and I am looking forward to our battle,” Tenraku said feeling excited about the Rating Game. In preparation for the upcoming match, Yubelluna and the other girls trained diligently every day.

Inside the Saints and Demons Hall…

“Jeanne San, how have you been feeling these past few days?” Tenraku asked with interest as he sat on the throne, observing Jeanne D’arc, who was bound by chains in front of him.

She had been kept imprisoned in the Saints and Demons Hall since Tenraku captured her during the Kyoto battle. If it weren’t for a sudden recollection, he might have forgotten about her.

“Hehehe… So it’s the Red Dragon Emperor, Your Highness. Have you finally remembered this sister?” Jeanne D’arc replied, lifting her head with the sound of chains rattling. Despite looking a bit weakened after being imprisoned for a few days, she still exuded a captivating charm.

As the reincarnation of the legendary Saintess Jeanne D’arc, she naturally emitted a sacred aura. However, her personality seemed somewhat different from her past life— she looked more like a seductive and enchanting elder sister type.

It was intriguing how two contrasting qualities could coexist in one person. Coupled with her beautiful face, golden curls, and slender figure, this woman was like an irresistible temptation to any man. It made one want to kneel at the hem of her pomegranate dress.

“I apologize for keeping you waiting these past few days due to some matters,” Tenraku calmly said, even though he spent his days leisurely mingling with Rias and the others. He couldn’t say that he forgot about her, right? That would be embarrassing.

“It’s no problem on my end, but how do you plan to deal with me?” Jeanne D’arc asked, her voice dripping with charm. She even blinked her eyes a few times, releasing waves of electric currents.

‘Damn you, you demon fairy,’ Tenraku cursed in his mind.

“Jeanne D’arc, are you interested in joining me and working for me in the future?” Tenraku asked.

“Are you asking this elder sister to betray her former companions?” Jeanne D’arc questioned.

“You could say that,” Tenraku replied.

“Hehehe… As tempting as it sounds, it’s impossible for this elder sister to betray her own companions,” Jeanne d’Arc declared with a coy smile.

Tenraku extended an olive branch, but it seemed to be rejected. Although he didn’t have high expectations, he still felt a bit displeased.

Standing up, Tenraku approached Jeanne D’arc and lifted her chin, wearing a wicked smile on his face.

“Well, that’s a pity. However, it’s not up to you to decide right now,” he said.
