PC Chapter 88 Powerful energy ahead!

The morning sun slowly descended upon every corner of Mt. Coronet as Terrance and his group cautiously navigated a treacherous mountain path.

The magnetic needle on Terrance’s cuff kept swaying, bringing both joy and unease to him.

“The magnetic field is getting stronger…”

“Krshhh~~”

Suddenly, a tremor emanated from the distance, causing the pebbles on the ground to tremble slightly and dust to cascade down from the mountain rocks. Terrance looked up, following the direction of the tremor, unsure whether to be pleased or concerned.

“What’s going on…” Faced with this mysterious tremor, everyone halted in their tracks.

“It sounds like a Pokémon’s cry,” Jinbe observed, frowning as he looked at the swaying branches.

“It’s Nosepass,” Orange said.

“Yes, it’s the warning cry of Nosepass,” Terrance confirmed.

“What should we do?” Yuko inquired.

“If we continue forward, we’ll enter Nosepass’ territory…it must be their evolution period!!” Terrance explained.

“How fortunate,” Terrance chuckled.

“Evolution period?” Tobias scratched his head, unfamiliar with the term Terrance used.

“Just understand that there are many Nosepass gathered ahead, engaging in battles among themselves to determine the strongest one.”

“This seems to be a special ritual of Mt. Coronet’s Nosepass. Thanks to the constantly changing magnetic field on Mt. Coronet, we are able to coincidentally encounter this spectacle.”

“Should we continue forward?” Yuko asked.

“Of course! What’s the goal of our training journey? Isn’t it to challenge and capture powerful Pokémon?” Seiji said.

“A Nosepass colony?” Misanji’s expression showed interest.

“It looks like you’ve all made a decision,” Jinbe noted.

No one hesitated to face the Nosepass, and they continued on their way. Terrance wasn’t surprised by their choice.

“The place with a large congregation of Nosepass… the magnetic field must be strongest there. If I time it right, these four Nosepass can also evolve together.”

The group picked up the pace, and at the same time, their strides became more steady. After all, the road was treacherous, and there was no room for relaxation.

“Stay vigilant,” Jinbe reminded.

At this moment, as they passed through a narrow path flanked by mountains, dark shapes loomed overhead, and fragmented rocks tumbled perilously from the mountainsides.

Red-nosed creatures stood high on mountains on either side, blinking their eyes as they watched the Trainers slowly advancing below.

“Boom!!!!”

“Boom!!!!”

“Huff huff huff huff~~~~~~~~~~~~”

At this moment, the student’s sense of danger surged to the peak, and they quickly threw out their Poké Balls.

“Infernape, Fire Spin——” Jinbe.

“Sceptile, Leaf Blade,” Misanji.

“Toxicroak, Mud Bomb!!” Seiji.

Meanwhile, Yuko’s Luxio, Tobias’s Ambipom, Orange’s Cherrim, and Terrance’s Beautifly all used their moves to defend against the falling rocks from above.

First, Fire Spin hindered their descent, then Sceptile jumped up and sliced the large rocks into pieces, and finally, Mud Bomb, Thunderbolt, Swift, Magical Leaf, and String Shot were used one after another to fend off the attack. Only then did everyone focus their attention on the culprit, Nosepass.

“One… two…”

Terrance carefully counted, and there were nine Nosepass visible alone. It seemed that this ritual was quite high-level.

“It’s the Rock Throw move; we should leave this place,” Jinbe suggested.

“We can climb up from over there. Beautifly, shield everyone,” Terrance pointed in a direction.

To prevent interference from outsiders, Nosepass were very aggressive and their Rock Throw attacks were very concentrated, but thanks to Terrance and others’ Pokémon, the journey remained perilous but uneventful.

“Beautifly, let’s go,” Terrance said, lowering his head to glance at the rapidly oscillating compass needle.

Beautifly moved with remarkable agility. Even when faced with shattered rocks, it effortlessly defused the danger by spitting out a strand of silk and flinging them away

“Don’t engage in battle; our objective isn’t them,” Jinbe stated.

The Nosepass continued to press their attack, but Terrance and the group were not here to merely battle these nine Nosepass. They wanted to witness the spectacle of all the Nosepass engaged in a grand battle to determine the strongest one, and to see their evolution.

“Let’s find a place to hide for now,” Yuko suggested.

Pursued by the Nosepass, the group climbed a steep mountain path, leaving everyone panting and exhausted. Terrance stretched his sore shoulders and looked back, and there were no signs of the Nosepass.

“What’s next? There were just nine Nosepass blocking us, but there might be more…” Seiji patted his chest and said.

“Both of you have good stamina,” Jinbe remarked; he thought that the two girls might struggle to keep up. However, the girls, although a bit tired, were not physically inferior to the boys.

“Have you forgotten? This is basic for a Trainer,” Yuko replied with a long exhale.

Orange, on the other hand, simply nodded and started checking if her Cherrim was injured.

“This is a rare occurrence. Whether Nosepass can evolve fully depends on their accumulated experience. Conservatively, having two or three Nosepass undergoing evolution would be considered good,” Terrance explained.

“If you want to capture Probopass or Nosepass, I suggest waiting until after their ritual is over. Their group behavior is only temporary, and once this magnetic field dissipates or the ritual concludes, they will leave individually.”

“We understand.” In such situations, advice from Breeder Class students was always helpful.

Orange didn’t offer any comments but nodded in response to Terrance’s words.

However, deep down, she had already started to acknowledge Terrance’s skills to some extent.

Quietly, the group slowly retraced their steps, searching for the main gathering place of the Nosepass.

Simultaneously, Jinbe had his Staraptor soar into the sky to scout the surroundings.

As for Terrance, apart from using the magnetic compass to trace their whereabouts, he had no other method. After all, Nosepass’ bodies contained a strong magnetic force, and with so many of them gathered together, the intensity of the magnetic field emitted was unimaginable.

Moreover, that location must currently be the most concentrated point of special magnetic field fluctuations in Mt. Coronet.

“Found them.” Jinbe, who was leading the way, suddenly stopped and whispered.

“Wow…” Terrance’s magnetic compass had completely broke down upon arrival here. The chaotic magnetic field rendered it useless.

The intense magnetic field, which could even be felt in their bodies, made their breathing somewhat difficult. The group’s movements became even more cautious, fearing that they might be detected by the Nosepass.

Hiding behind rocks in the distance, they cautiously peeked out and could see a multitude of large red noses, packed closely together.
