Candice was also a student at this Pokémon Trainer’s School. As soon as she entered, after learning that there would be a battle to watch, many children inside the school ran out excitedly. It was incredibly attractive for these kids who had yet to obtain their first Pokémon from a Professor to witness a battle between Trainers.
Candice was full of confidence as she led Terrance to the battle arena and found a middle-aged man from the school to act as the referee.
“Let’s make it a 1v1 battle,” Terrance said.
He only had two Pokémon with him, Beautifly and Swablu. The options were either 1v1 or 2v2, and to save time, Terrance chose the former.
“Alright, no problem!”
Candice accepted everything and continued, “I’m sending out—-Snover!”
Standing on opposite sides of the arena, Candice was the first to throw out her Poké Ball.
With a flash of white light, a Pokémon resembling a tree stump with a bamboo cap appeared. However, its cap was entirely white, and its arms had a deep green hue. Standing in the arena, it looked incredibly calm.
“So it’s Snover!” Terrance observed the opponent.
Snover was a Pokémon of the Ice and Grass Type. It usually lives in the snowy mountains and rarely comes across humans. Therefore, if it came across one, it would often curiously approach them.
“In that case, I’ll send out Beautifly.”
Beautifly still hasn’t mastered many powerful moves. Terrance hadn’t specifically trained it in that aspect. For Beautifly, its battlefield was the stage of Pokémon Contests, where the skillful use of moves took priority.
Even in ordinary battles, this point can be demonstrated!
“This Pokémon is…” Candice curiously looked at Terrance. “Beautifly, are you a Trainer from the Hoenn region?”
“Beautifly is a Bug/Flying Type, right? But I won’t hold back!”
“Of course,” Terrance chuckled. “By the way, this is my first battle against a Trainer.”
“But I advise you to give it your all. I believe we are quite powerful.”
Terrance didn’t want her to take them lightly, moreover in terms of battle experience, he wasn’t lacking at all.
“What? Your first battle…” Candice looked surprised at Terrance, but upon thinking, it was quite fitting for a rookie Trainer of his age.
“The battle rules are 1v1. When one Pokémon becomes unable to battle, the battle will end. Then, I will declare the battle has begun!”

“You can make the first move,” Candice shouted.
“Then I won’t be polite. Beautifly, use Gust!”
Following Terrance’s command, Beautifly flapped its beautiful wings. The already cold weather became even chillier under the gusts of wind, making everyone around feel the icy air.
The most immediate effect could be felt by Snover, the main target of the Gust move.
Gust Move caused Candice’s skirt to flutter, but she paid no mind. “This level of cold wind won’t harm Snover. It has always lived on top of Mt. Coronet!”
“Oh, I see,” Terrance smiled.
Despite the strong wind, Snover remained standing there, seemingly unaffected by it.
“Now, it’s our turn to attack. Snover, counter with Icy Wind!”
Compared to Beautifly’s Gust, Snover blew out a chilling wind mixed with ice crystals. It truly resembled a storm in a blizzard, appearing even more magnificent and powerful.
“Coo~”
Caught in the Icy Wind, Beautifly showed a pained expression and its movements became sluggish. It still hadn’t adapted to the cold environment.
“Endure it!” Terrance exclaimed.
“Can you feel the airflow around you clearly? Glide along the Icy Wind!”
Tailwind Move!
Amidst the fierce wind, sensing the airflow and utilizing the wind’s direction, Beautifly increased its speed with the help of the wind’s power.
Beautifly struggled to flap its wings, creating a whirlwind amidst the storm. Finally, to Candice’s disbelief, Beautifly effortlessly danced in the midst of the Icy Wind!
In the sky filled with ice crystals, Beautifly controlled its graceful figure, its dancing movements like the most enchanting melody, adorned with sparkling frost, adding a dreamlike beauty to its flight.
“Interesting, very interesting. But how long can Beautifly endure the cold wind?” Candice became excited. She realized that this opponent was different, unlike any Trainer she had battled before.
“It must be quite physically demanding. Let’s capitalize on our advantage. Snover, disrupt Beautifly’s movements with Ice Shard”
Upon hearing this, Snover instantly created numerous ice chunks and quickly threw them towards Beautifly. The ice chunks were densely packed, successfully blocking most of Beautifly’s flight path.
Candice wore a smug expression. In her eyes, Beautifly was already trapped.
However, when she looked at Terrance, she noticed he showed no signs of panic on his face. This made Candice calm down and observe the situation on the battlefield.
Then, she witnessed an extremely shocking scene.
Not only was Beautifly undisturbed by the incoming Ice Shards, but it also danced in the sky even more freely and agilely. This was the only assessment Candice could come up with for Beautifly at the moment.
Facing the dual attack of Icy Wind and Ice Shards, Beautifly flawlessly utilized its agility, taking advantage of every crucial moment to effortlessly dodge all the attacks!
“How is that possible!”
Candice was taken aback. She could clearly see Beautifly showing signs of discomfort in the Icy Wind. How could it concentrate and control its flight despite the threat of Ice Shard?
“Beautifly, Electroweb!”
Just as Candice hesitated, with a sharp crackling sound, a large net surrounded by golden electricity formed and descended from the sky, covering Snover.
“Oh no… Snover, quickly break it with Razor Leaf.”
Faced with the incoming Electroweb, Snover hastily threw several leaves. The sharp blades flew toward the Electroweb, and the two moves collided directly.
When the leaves touched the Electroweb, they were initially hindered by the electric current, but then they cut through the silk. However, Snover’s Razor Leaf had too few leaves, and due to the interference of the electric current, only a portion of the Electroweb’s structure was destroyed.
“Use another Razor Leaf!”
Candice was clearly unwilling to give up. She gave the command, and Snover again assumed the pose to execute the move, fully focused on destroying the Electroweb. While the Razor Leaf was completing, Terrance’s voice resounded once again.
“Finish it off.”
Razor Leaf sliced through the remaining Electroweb, but as Terrance’s voice fell, Snover’s feet were entangled by strands of silk, causing it to be pulled down to the ground.
“What… that angle…” Candice’ eyes widened, looking up towards the sky. Beautifly, which was originally far away from Snover, had spewed out a thin and straight silk thread, directly wrapping around Snover’s ankle!
