Perhaps there are truly talented humans who can suppress some Pokémon based on their physique and special abilities, but that certainly wasn’t the case for Terrance, who was burdened with a young boy’s body.
Nevertheless, at this point, he had no other choice. A Trainer personally engaging in a duel with a Pokémon may sound ridiculous, but how many Trainers haven’t experienced it? It is an indispensable step in gradually transforming from a rookie.
Only through firsthand experience can a Trainer comprehend the uncertainty of nature. Humans and Pokémon in the wild face the possibility of anything happening. Even if several Seviper were to appear again right now, Terrance couldn’t complain. He wasn’t a god, and not everything would develop as smoothly as he had hoped.
