IUD-Chapter 116 Contradictory

“Wait…” Just as Alisa watched Fang Li charge forward like that, she unconsciously exclaimed, but it was already too late.

In Alisa’s gaze, Fang Li’s figure turned into a blurry black shadow as he rushed towards the swarm of Aragami ahead. The Aragami forces, marching in groups, seemed to sense the disturbance and they turned their bodies and looked in Fang Li’s direction one after another.

In that instant, Fang Li’s figure abruptly halted.

For a split second, Fang Li hesitated as he didn’t know if he should reveal his true abilities.

With his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, Fang Li could kill Aragami that ordinary people couldn’t. But as an ordinary person, Fang Li shouldn’t have the means to kill Aragami. Once he killed an Aragami in front of others, half of the existence of his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception would be exposed.

This was something Fang Li had tried to avoid before.

He had chosen to keep it hidden from even Amamiya Rindou, Tachibana Sakuya, Soma, and the others. And now, his current companion was someone from the Russian Branch. There was no reason for him to reveal his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception in front of her.

However, this hesitation lasted only a split second.

“One of my main Quests is to kill Aragami. There’s no reason to give up the opportunity to earn a substantial reward because of some concerns.”

Just like in the previous world, one of Fang Li’s Main Quests was to kill a certain number of targets which would then determine the Quest’s evaluation.

Since that was the case, Fang Li naturally had to kill as many Aragami as possible. However, due to his reluctance to expose his Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, Fang Li had never killed an Aragami until his recent encounter with Vajra.

With that, the Main Quest was completed, but if he satisfied himself with just that, he would miss out on a significant portion of the reward.

“Now, the war has already begun. Opportunity knocks but once, and I can’t be afraid.” Fang Li once again displayed his extraordinary decisiveness and judgment. After all, risks and rewards went hand in hand.

So, Fang Li raised his eyes, and his dark-colored pupils turned into an icy blue shade as his hand quietly gripped the Moonlight Dagger.

“Rooooooaaaaar!”

It was only at this moment that the swarms of Aragami roared at him. However, what they faced was a chilling blade of light.

“Pū Chī!”

Amidst the sound of flesh tearing, the sharp dagger sliced through the Aragami’s skin and, amidst a spray of crimson blood, plunged into the Aragami’s body.

There, lay the core of the Aragami.

“Péng!”

The core of the Aragami shattered with a loud sound, pierced mercilessly by the sharp dagger.

The roaring Aragami abruptly fell silent and its gaze grew dim as it gradually collapsed to the ground.

Fang Li didn’t hesitate for a moment. He pulled out the blood-stained dagger and, with a cold look in his eyes, he swiftly and agilely moved like a ferocious beast. With a single step, he suddenly appeared in front of another Aragami.

His hand rose, and the blade fell.

“Pū chī!”

The sharp dagger once again penetrated the Aragami’s body, cleanly killing the second one.

“Rooooooaaaaar!”

At this moment, one Aragami after another let out angry growls and charged in Fang Li’s direction and this was exactly what Fang Li wanted.

From a distance, Alisa watched the scene unfold. Her exquisite and charming face first showed a drastic change, followed by a surge of astonishment.

Watching Fang Li maneuvering through the herd of beasts, swiftly evading attacks with extraordinary agility, and wielding his dagger as a lethal weapon to reap the lives of the Aragami, he appeared like a Demon God immersed in the cries and blood of his enemies. Alisa couldn’t believe her eyes.

“How… How is this possible!”

Initially, Alisa thought Fang Li was already extraordinary enough. However, she realized that her previous understanding of him was merely the weakest part of the truth.

‘”Why?” Why could an ordinary person who wasn’t even a God Eater kill the Aragami with just a dagger? Wasn’t it said that human weapons, other than the God Arc, were ineffective against the Aragami? So, what was happening before her eyes?’

As Alisa remained trapped in her state of shock, on the other side, Fang Li concluded the battle.

“Boom!”

When the final Aragami’s core shattered, the resounding roar in the air vanished completely. Fang Li stood among the corpses of the Aragami, looking at the lifeless bodies strewn around. However, his brow furrowed.

“This is troublesome.”

If someone who was unaware heard these words, they would find them incomprehensible.

But Fang Li truly felt a bit troubled at this moment.

“Although I can kill the Aragami with my Mystic Eyes of Death Perception and complete the first Main Quest, it means I won’t be able to fulfill the Second Main Quest.”

Fang Li’s first Main Quest was to kill an Aragami.

While the Second Main Quest was to retrieve the Aragami’s core.

However, if Fang Li wanted to kill an Aragami, he would also need to eliminate its core. This meant that he wouldn’t be able to complete the Second Main Quest.

“I didn’t expect to encounter such a contradiction in this place.” Fang Li’s brow furrowed even deeper as he continued to think. “It seems I need to come up with a solution.”

Thinking this, Fang Li suddenly turned his head and looked in Alisa’s direction.

At this moment, Alisa was still immersed in shock, her gaze filled with disbelief as she looked at Fang Li.

“Could it be that… Is this the reason he can cut through thick steel walls?”

Alisa’s gaze involuntarily shifted to the dagger in Fang Li’s hand and she was sure that the dagger was definitely not a God Arc. Although it appeared extraordinary, if it wasn’t a God Arc, it wouldn’t be able to kill the Aragami.

That was a fact.

‘But why could Fang Li still slay the Aragami like that?’ Alisa felt her mind becoming chaotic.

In such a situation, Fang Li bypassed the corpses of the Aragami and approached Alisa.

However, at this moment, Alisa unconsciously took a step back, creating distance between herself and Fang Li.

Observing this, Fang Li raised an eyebrow and looked deeply at Alisa, saying with a faint smile, “Are you afraid of me?”

Alisa remained silent. However, her actions spoke volumes.

Confronted with something she couldn’t comprehend, Alisa finally revealed her vulnerability.

In response, Fang Li simply looked at Alisa and said, “Now that you have shown your weakness, if you still choose to turn a blind eye to it, it’s not a matter of whether you see or not. It’s simply pure avoidance.”

Leaving those words behind, Fang Li turned around and paid no further attention to Alisa as he continued moving forward.

Watching Fang Li’s figure recede, Alisa hesitated to speak and ultimately could only lower her head, gritting her teeth as she followed slowly.
