Ever since he learned that Kuzan and Sakazuki were participating in the Buster Call, he knew he couldn’t break past them with his strength.
“But can you really leave this place in front of the Marines?”
He had been staying hidden in the depths of the island, and the Marines on the sea hadn’t discovered him yet.
In the original timeline, he only revealed himself when he attempted to escape with Robin, which attracted his former friend, Kuzan. Now, it was the same; given his size, once he got close to the island’s border, the Marines would definitely spot him, leading to a large battle.

If they can get in touch with the kingdom of giants, there might be people there who want to venture out to sea, which is not uncommon among Giants. As long as they don’t join the Big Mom Pirates, other Giants won’t interfere with what they do.
