PC Chapter 90 Nosepass’ evolution

Terrance understood Orange’s attitude. Breeder Class students know more about the living environment and habits of Pokémon than Trainers. However, due to their superficial understanding, they often couldn’t analyze and comprehend on their own, leading to a series of misunderstandings and mistakes. This was a common issue among rookie Breeders.

These doubts arising from imperfect understanding needed to be rebuilt into correct viewpoints through continuous learning.

Trainers capture Pokémon…battle them, and challenge powerful Pokémon as a custom in this world. Terrance couldn’t definitively judge right from wrong in this matter.

At least until now, he had mostly seen the side where humans and Pokémon coexisted peacefully, living in harmony.

Human efforts to protect the ecosystem were also gradually improving and being regulated through laws and policies.

This reminded Terrence of the phrase that was often featured in Trainer Times: “Humans and Pokémon… are partners, companions!”

The battle between Nosepass and the students was extremely chaotic. Various moves were released without any pattern, and they could land on someone’s head at any moment. At this moment, the cooperation between the Trainer and the Pokémon is extremely important.

The five students who had gone out each released two Pokémon—one to participate in the fight and one to protect themselves.

Rocks, Lightning, Sandstorm—everyone had to bring their mental and physical alertness to the highest level at this moment. In this unregulated “battle,” the students’ reactions and commands were also put to the test.

Rocks tumbled, only to be sliced into fragments by Misanji’s Sceptile.

Some Nosepass also used the move “Rock Blast,” which was more difficult to dodge, more powerful, and has a more incredible number of rocks than ordinary Rock Slide or Rock Throw.

There were also a few Nosepass in the center of the sandstorm, their figures constantly flashing in the haze, making it difficult for them to pinpoint their positions.

Although the Nosepass no longer had coordinated consciousness at this moment, they were numerous, and in the blink of an eye, everyone was forced to battle several Nosepass.

“Boom!”

A Nosepass was knocked back but it just swayed a bit and immediately stood up, rejoining the battlefield.

Under the stimulation of the special magnetic field, the Nosepass were all in their best condition, exhibiting 120% of their strength. They felt no fatigue, no fear, and in their relentless pursuit of the innate desire for evolution, they could be described as insanely driven.

“The competition among Pokémon in nature… is truly brutal,” Terrance stood at a distance, watching the other students passionately engage in battle, each looking extremely excited. He was feeling a little regretful.

Battles of this scale were rare for Trainers—an opportunity to gain a large amount of battle experience.

“But there’s no other way…”

Once again, he gazed at the chaotic battlefield before focusing on four peculiar Nosepass.

Compared to the other Nosepass, these four seemed to have retained their rationality. Their movements were orderly, and even more remarkably, when other Nosepass occasionally intruded into their area, they exhibited a kind of teamwork, continuously driving away their opponents.

“Those four Nosepass… are so strange,” Orange slowly noticed these four Pokemon who appeared to be different from the other Nosepass.

During the Nosepass’ combination with the special magnetic field, their condition seemed more stable, unlike the other Nosepass, who were usually irritable. They were calmly capturing and sensing the fluctuations of the magnetic field.

“Dong—”

“Dong—”

During the fight, a long time passed. The students had dirt on their faces and clothes, and they all looked a bit exhausted. Such battles were physically and mentally draining for them.

After long hours of competition, on a steep slope, a Nosepass emitted a strange cry, instantly capturing everyone’s attention. Then, under the gaze of all, it began radiating intense white light—

Evolution has begun!

As the white light flashed, the other Nosepass around it seemed to be stimulated in some way, and they all rushed eagerly in its direction with increased agility.

“First,” Terrance began counting. This was the first Nosepass in the group to successfully capture the magnetic field fluctuations and complete its perfect evolution.

Under the electromagnetic waves emitted from the combination of magnetic force and field fluctuations, the other Nosepass seemed to have smelled an enticing scent and rushed toward it with full force.

However, only the first three Nosepass to arrive were accepted by the white light, and they too radiated intense white light, beginning the final step of their evolution: fusion.    [TN: This evolution of Nosepass is an original setting by the author.]

At this point, the other Nosepass that had arrived later seemed to lose their direction and were bewildered, starting another round of the magnetic force frenzy.

“Has it evolved? I want to battle it,” Seiji, who was closest to this Nosepass, made up his mind in the next moment. He had his Toxicroak break the rocks blocking his path and continued forward.

The evolution process was brief. The Nosepass that had started it soon transformed from a small stone figure into a Probopass, standing at least over one meter tall.

Compared to Nosepass, its red nose had become larger, the bald area on its head had turned red, and below its nose, there was now a cluster of thick black whiskers.

As for the three Nosepass that had joined it later, they clung to Probopass’ body like ornaments, becoming its vassals.

“Dong—”

Having completed the evolution, Probopass was in exceptionally high spirits. The other three Mini-Noss also flew up and surrounded Probopass.

Seeing this scene, Terrance found it quite miraculous.

Evolution that required four similar Pokémon!

For Pokémon, these incredible creatures, anything was possible indeed.

Some even called Probopass the most shameless Pokémon because when battling it, you were essentially facing four opponents. Through the magnetic force, Probopass could even establish a sensory link with the three Mini-Noss, controlling them in battle, conducting a combat style similar to operating Funnels! [Weapon in Gundam series.]

Next, not only Seiji but also the other Nosepass began to attack, regardless of whether the opposing Pokémon had already evolved or not.

The now sane Probopass was clearly angered by these harassers. After emitting an angry cry, it was forced to rejoin the battle.

“What’s going on?!” Yuko looked at the four Nosepass that remained unfazed by her attacks, displaying a flawless defensive formation. She wore an astonished expression.

“These four Nosepass still have their rationality!” Her Pokémon attacked, but facing the coordinated effort of the four Nosepass, she felt powerless as she couldn’t break through their defense.

Yuko’s sudden appearance troubled Terrance, who had been observing the four Nosepass from a distance. Ever since he had confirmed the unusual magnetic field changes in the area with his magnet compass, Terrance had released the four Nosepass and infiltrated this “ritual” in advance.

As Pokémon that had been captured and tamed, these Nosepass had a unique advantage. They wouldn’t fall into the same chaos as wild Pokémon. To prevent them from getting confused, Terrance had prepared some lavender incense in advance, allowing them to remain calm and suppress the restlessness caused by the turbulent magnetic force in their bodies, thus letting them focus on sensing the fluctuations in the special magnetic field.

Seeing Yuko about to challenge the four Nosepass, Terrance revealed a helpless expression. He was about to shout a warning, but in the next moment, one of the four Nosepass…..began to emit the white light of evolution, leaving Terrance utterly surprised.
