OPTM-Chapter 212 Marine Inspection!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was another lively day at Rowen’s home. Binz had completed his secret mission that lasted over two years and was officially transferred to the Marine Headquarters. He brought back a large pile of souvenirs… which happened to be a mountain of delicious sea beast meat.

Originally, it was supposed to be a private family dinner for Zephyr and his disciples, without inviting any guests. However, with the arrival of a certain “Marine Troublemaker whose name starts with R” who always stirred up trouble, a large number of high-ranking officers from Headquarters joined in the feast.

First, they congratulated Rowen on his “Resurrection,” and then they joined the banquet, eating, drinking, and chatting as if they were part of the family!
Considering that most of the people present would be busy afterward, Rowen gritted his teeth and endured.

Moreover, his current strength was incomparable to the past, and his status was even higher. If anyone dared to get drunk and cause trouble in his place or god forbid burn down his house, Rowen would use his fists to teach them a lesson on “Proper Etiquette For Guests”!

However, Rowen soon realized that one member was missing among those present today.

“Why didn’t Vice Admiral Momonga come?”

As Zephyr’s eldest disciple and the big senior brother to almost everyone present, it didn’t make sense for Momousagi and Chaton to come while Vice Admiral Momonga was absent.

Upon noticing this, Rowen furrowed his brows in silence, and suddenly his pupils contracted.

“Tsk… The butterfly effect, perhaps?”

Goblets clinked, and the wine cups were passed around.

The night grew late, and the tipsy generals, supported by their families and subordinates, staggered out of the courtyard.

After glancing at Ain, Shuzo, and Binz who were tidying up the dishes and utensils, Rowen approached Zephyr, who was reclining in a rocking chair, enjoying the pleasant night breeze with the moonlight as his backdrop.

“Zephyr-Sensei, there’s something I want to discuss with you…”

Rowen had a guess in his mind as to where Momonga is, and he believed that eight or nine out of ten times, it would be the truth.

He didn’t know whether he should tell Zephyr about it. Zephyr had the right to know the truth… but some things he could handle on his own. There was no need to involve the old man in this.

“It’s about the Fleet Admiral asking you to invite the Shichibukai, right?”

In the midst of his contemplation, Zephyr hit the nail on the head.

Rowen looked up and found that Zephyr, who had been drinking tea with his eyes closed just moments ago, had opened his eyes without him realizing it. In the aged face, his eyes shimmered with brightness.

“Yes… Sai, the current Pillar of State of the Kano Country’s Happo Navy.”

“Oh, Chinjao’s Grandson!”

Zephyr nodded, recalling who the person was, and then said with a hint of amusement, “I bet Chinjao definitely wouldn’t agree! It’s probably Kano Country’s king who entrusted him, and he was forced to accept.”

Considering the animosity between Chinjao and Garp, it was already a result of a compromise that they didn’t come to trouble the Marines.

But now they were expected to become Shichibukai and accept Marine restraint and control. It was impossible to agree to that…

They might even choose death over submission!

“Tsk tsk! It’s such a pity that they didn’t let Garp go!’

Zephyr sighed with genuine regret, not disguised in the least.

Rowen: “…”

‘You, old man, you really… always looking for trouble! Letting Garp go to the Kano Country! The scene…’

‘Just thinking about it gets me excited!!’ Rowen silently though.

“Hmph! If the Fleet Admiral wants you to go, then go. I’m not an unreasonable and stubborn old man… It’s time to give put new people in the Shichibukai or else the Gorōsei (Five Elder Stars) won’t spare you!”

At this moment, Zephyr snorted and sternly said to Rowen.

A Marine toppling two Shichibukai in succession had left the people in the Sea panicking. No matter what the reason was, no ruling authority would be pleased with such a troublemaker.

In the eyes of the Gorōsei (Five Elder Stars), the balance of the Sea and the government’s rule were the absolute primary factors! And the face of the Marines…

What was that?

Can you eat it?

Although it was a reprimand, Zephyr’s words showed his willingness to swallow his pride for his own sake and Rowen was deeply moved for a moment. After all, he was the one who caused this mess. The more credit he took, the more trouble he caused.

Being low-key is the way to go, Rowen understood this principle.

But the focus of this matter was not on the Shichibukai that Rowen had invited, but rather on Vice Admiral Momonga intentionally avoiding tonight…

Before Rowen could say anything, Zephyr sipped his tea and said in a calm tone, “That brat Vice Admiral Momonga, he’ll never learn how to lie or disguise his thoughts. Whenever he encounters a problem, he can only hide.”

Rowen noticed that when Zephyr said these words, his remaining left hand was tightly gripping the teapot. Through his Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), he could clearly see that the teapot was already broken and filled with cracks… It was just maintaining a fragile balance in the face of Zephyr’s powerful control.

Just like his current mood…

Pā dā!

Suddenly, a large hand pressed on Zephyr’s shoulder, startling him. He looked up and saw Rowen’s confident smile, and for some reason, he felt relieved.

“Leave it to me, Sensei!”

Rowen said.

“Well… alright.”

“Hey! Rowen, this is your house. Can’t you help clean up?!” Shuzo poured the remaining soup and leftovers into a bucket, looked up, and saw someone leisurely slacking off, and instantly becoming furious.

“Sorry, I’m massaging Sensei’s shoulders. My hands are full!”

Shuzo: “…”

Such a Bootlicker!!

The Next Day, accompanied by the sound of whistles, a large number of Battleships sailed out of Bay Port!

It was indeed a massive fleet of Battleships!

A formidable formation of War Behemoths lined up in a single file, comprised more than a dozen ships!

In addition to that, there were hundreds of other types of Battleships!

The sky was darkened with Marine Aircraft!

Plasma Cannons and fierce-looking cannon muzzles were pointed out from the Battleships, exuding an aura of blood!

On the decks, soldiers stood in a neat formation, heads held high, shouldering their firearms, and military flags shimmered in the sunlight. In front of the soldiers, on each War Behemoth, stood one or several Headquarters Generals, standing at the forefront to undergo the inspection by the Fleet Admiral!

“Fleet Admiral, I think Kizaru is not suitable to communicate with the Shichibukai. Let me go instead!”

Such a magnificent scene made the War Faction Admiral Akainu’s eyes turn red. With a force like this entrusted to him, he even dared to go head-to-head with a Yonko!

Three Admirals couldn’t leave all at once, and there must be one Admiral stationed at the Marine Headquarters. Akainu didn’t see any problem with this, as they weren’t initiating the fight, and he didn’t want to engage in any deceitful or unnecessary matters.
