IUD-Chapter 383 Treating

As if burning with the intensity of flames, the pair of Burning eyes seemed to be focused on capturing everything before them. Her gaze was devoid of emotion, filled only with a sense of inquiry, a look that could exert pressure on anyone.

Under the weight of this gaze, Fang Li felt as though the air around him had become heavier. Although it had no direct impact on him, it clearly conveyed one thing – within the petite body of this young girl, there was a power that exceeded that of ordinary humans.

(Is this what a Flame Haze is?)

—Burning-Eyed Assassin.

Among Flame Hazes, she was quite renowned.

In fact, her recent performance was proof enough.

Though the Rinne she had just dealt with were mere cannon fodder for Fang Li, her swift and decisive manner of handling them couldn’t have been achieved without an ability exceeding one Rank higher than their own.

This girl made it clear that, in terms of raw power, she was not beneath Fang Li.

But that was to be expected.

The Denizen residing within the girl’s body was not an ordinary one. Though the girl currently only had access to a fraction of its power, it was not an entity that could be easily defeated.

Of course, Fang Li had no reason to fear her.

So, he said directly, “If someone is to ask what’s going on, shouldn’t it be me? You suddenly barged into someone else’s hunting grounds. What are you doing?”

“Hunting grounds?” The girl’s expression remained unchanged, but her gaze toward Fang Li shifted.

It was as if she were looking at an overly assertive minor character.

Soon after, the girl, as though losing interest in Fang Li, started speaking to herself.

“Alastor, what should we do now?”

Evidently, the girl had chosen to ignore Fang Li completely.

This kind of arrogant behavior would likely wound the pride of a genuinely assertive minor character, wouldn’t it?

In the face of the girl’s disregard, the entity named Alastor, which conveyed its will through the pendant, echoed her.

“It seems there must be some secret in this human’s body that we are unaware of. Otherwise, there would be no reason for a large group of Rinne to be dispatched to such a desolate place.”

In most cases, Rinne were created by Crimson World Denizens to gather Power of Existence for their Masters.

Given this perspective, if any Crimson World Denizen intended to collect Power of Existence using Rinne, they would certainly have dispersed them rather than gathering a large number of Rinne in a place devoid of humans who could consume them.

“So, the other party is most likely here for this human,” Alastor stated with a high degree of certainty. “For now, it’s best to investigate this human.”

“Understood.” The girl nodded without any hesitation.

Throughout, the girl seemed to ignore Fang Li’s existence, making decisions without any regard for him.

It was as though she completely disregarded Fang Li’s will.

To this, Fang Li only raised an eyebrow and smirked.

He knew that the girl harbored no ill intentions. She was simply explaining her actions.

Having decided to investigate Fang Li, she would follow through with absolute determination, regardless of Fang Li’s own will or any potential challenges. Her resolute “to do as one pleases” attitude, while not endearing to Fang Li, resonated with him to some extent.

After all, Fang Li was the type to act according to his mood. He recalled how he had exposed the weaknesses of Mumei and Alisa in the past, not withholding any information. Compared to the young girl before him, he could almost be considered on equal footing.

Given this, Fang Li didn’t pay any mind to the girl’s disregard and nonchalantly delivered a line.

“You can do whatever you want, but my guest is about to arrive. So, just obediently stay on the sidelines.”

This statement finally caught the girl’s attention.

“Guest?” The girl repeated the term, then her Burning-Eyed eyes sharpened as if she had sensed something. She suddenly raised her head and looked upward.

“Boom!”

Almost simultaneously, in mid-air, a ball of flames suddenly burst into existence and ignited. These flames were of a pale white color. They gradually condensed into a tangible form, eventually taking on the appearance of a young man.

Shortly afterwards, an elegant yet evil-looking voice emanated from the young man’s lips.

“I was wondering who had eliminated my Torches and cute servants. It turns out to be the ‘Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Assassin.'”

With this voice, the young man dressed in pure white attire, draped with a Hagoromo-like white cloth, appeared in the pale white flames.

Upon seeing this elegantly-dressed man materialize within the pale white flames, Fang Li’s eyes narrowed slightly, and a faint smile curled at the corner of his mouth.

“At last…”

Not only Fang Li but even the Flame-Haired girl gazed directly at the handsome man. Her Burning-Eyed eyes radiated a fiery brilliance as she spoke.

“Are you the Master of those Rinne we encountered just now?”

“Precisely,” The man said with an elegant smile and a relaxed demeanor. He introduced himself, “My name is Friagne. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed tool of extermination.”

Though his voice sounded pleasant, it held malevolence that seemed to ooze like muck, especially when he addressed the girl.

For many Crimson World Denizens, Flame Hazes were simply tools created by their own kind to be used for exterminating other Denizens. Despite the immense power radiating from the girl, Friagne had no qualms about mocking her.

However, the girl paid no heed to his mockery because a voice emanated from the pendant around her neck.

“So, you are the ‘Hunter’ renowned for collecting Noble Phantasms (Treasure Tools) and hunting Flame Hazes?” The sentence clarified to the girl the formidable nature of the Crimson World Denizen before her.

Friagne.

Known as a “Hunter” for his actions of collecting Noble Phantasms and hunting Flame Hazes, he was infamous for his cunning character and considerable wit. Among modern-day Crimson World Denizens, he was ranked among the top five in terms of power. His strength was truly formidable.

“Be careful,” Alastor warned.

“The other party is not an ordinary Crimson World Denizen but a Crimson Lord. If you don’t make every effort, you’ll die.”

The girl’s expression gradually hardened, and her Burning-Eyed eyes ignited even brighter.

Only Fang Li’s gaze, directed at Friagne, remained unchanged.

It was the gaze of a predator fixated on its prey.
