IUD-Chapter 367 Anxiety

In the following period, Fan Xinglou indeed became Fang Li’s sparring partner. Besides Fang Li’s daily training sessions, they would spar each night before bedtime.

The results of these sparring sessions were impressive as Fan Xinglou adjusted her power according to Fang Li’s strength.

Sometimes, she would overpower Fang Li to let him experience fighting against a stronger opponent, using her immense power to dominate the entire battle. Other times, she would tone down her abilities to match Fang Li’s progress, engaging in a battle of attrition.

Fan Xinglou had envisioned various combat scenarios and continually adjusted her strength to challenge Fang Li. Unfortunately, throughout this period, Fang Li never managed to win a single time against Fan Xinglou.

Towards the end, Fan Xinglou even allowed Fang Li to use the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception in their battles, but Fang Li still couldn’t lay a finger on Fan Xinglou. Even his expertise in speed and agility couldn’t close the gap between them. At this point, Fan Xinglou was entirely out of Fang Li’s reach.

As the days went by, Fang Li began to wonder how strong Fan Xinglou’s power must have been in her prime. It was a question very few people in the world could answer.

However, Fang Li and Fan Xinglou’s sparring sessions didn’t last for an extended period.

About a week later, Fang Li received an anonymous text message that marked the end of his school life.

The content of the message read:

“Everything is arranged. Come to the treatment center.”

Seeing this message, Fang Li knew exactly who sent it.

He informed Sylvia, and after meeting her, they went to the treatment center together. At the entrance of the center, they found Madiath waiting for them.

“We’ve been waiting for you both,” Madiath said with a smile, as he had in their previous meetings. He got straight to the point. “Anyway, come in with me.”

With that, Madiath led the way into the treatment center. Fang Li was about to follow, but someone grabbed his clothes from behind.

Shortly after, a forehead pressed against Fang Li’s back, and a worried voice spoke.

“Ursula… nothing would happen to her, right?”

Fang Li stopped in his tracks, feeling the touch of the girl’s forehead pressed against his back. For a moment, he didn’t know what to say.

It was understandable; the treatment center was a place equipped with Strega (Witches) and Dante (Magus) practitioners with Healing System abilities, specialized in treating rare and complicated conditions that couldn’t be healed through scientific means.

Madiath’s decision to return Ursula to such a place inevitably raised questions about her well-being. Hence, without turning back, Fang Li replied, “It’s alright. As long as she’s not dead, it can’t be that bad, right?”

This was something Sylvia had said before.

Sylvia took a deep breath and her smile returned, muttering, “You’re right.”

“Let’s go,” Fang Li said with a smile, turning to Sylvia. “Let’s go inside and see your Teacher.”

Sylvia nodded heavily.

Fang Li and Sylvia then followed Madiath into the treatment center. The center was divided into a main building for diagnosis and examinations and an adjoining residential building connected by corridors.

Madiath led Fang Li and Sylvia directly to the residential building of the treatment center and arrived at a room.

With a slight “kacha,” they opened the door, and the entire group entered the room. The room didn’t differ much from typical hospital rooms.

In the center of the room, someone lay on a hospital bed, breathing rhythmically in deep slumber.

“Ursula…!” Sylvia couldn’t hide her emotions and rushed to the bedside. She held Ursula’s hand.

The hand she held felt colder than expected, causing Sylvia’s heart to sink. Sylvia then turned to Madiath and asked in a hushed voice, “How is Ursula?”

Madiath replied in a reassuring tone, “She’s alright, as I mentioned earlier. She hasn’t awakened yet. We’ve performed a mind/energetic examination, and there are no significant issues. It’s just a matter of time before she wakes up. The doctors say she’s in deep sleep. Barring any accidents or surprises, she’ll naturally wake up.”

“How long is ‘time’?” Sylvia asked anxiously. “Could you give an estimate?”

“In the short term, it could be around six months, while in the long term, it may take two to three years,” Madiath explained. “Regardless, Valda didn’t cause any damage to Ursula’s mind, so you won’t have to face any unexpected outcomes.”

Sylvia let out a relieved sigh, holding Ursula’s hand tightly and gazing at her sleeping, enchanting face, lost in thought.

Seeing Sylvia like this, Fang Li whispered to Madiath, “Let’s step outside and talk.”

Madiath had no objections and simply nodded.

Outside the room, Fang Li and Madiath stood side by side, maintaining some distance between them.

Madiath broke the silence. “I apologize for taking some time.”

With a gentle expression, Madiath continued, “Considering she has been a stranger who hasn’t been exposed to sunlight until now, if we simply brought her to the treatment center without precaution, it would have raised suspicions among others. So, to be prudent, we made some arrangements.”

In other words, Madiath could have handed Ursula over directly to Fang Li and Sylvia without the elaborate process of placing her in the treatment center. However, Madiath’s actions were clearly a show of goodwill toward Fang Li.

“In addition, I brought what you wanted,” Madiath added. “I had to put in quite a bit of effort to get what you desired.”

With that said, Madiath retrieved a metal box from his person.

Seeing the box, Fang Li seemed to know what was inside and took it calmly. He then opened the box.

The next moment, brilliant radiance shone from inside the metal box. On a black cushion within the box, multicolored jewels lay peacefully, emitting an enchanting glow.

These were precisely Urm Manadyte jewels.
