IUD-Chapter 365 Exactly The Same

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Yellow Dragon Temple, Genbu Hall.

As before, in the center of the training hall, two individuals faced each other, locked in a silent standoff.

On one side stood Wu Xiaofei, and on the other side was Fang Li.

Fan Xinglou, their master, watched her two beloved disciples. The boredom that had marred her charming face earlier had completely disappeared, replaced by an enthusiastic smile.

However, Cecily and Zhao Hufeng remained perplexed by the sudden turn of events, not understanding why things had taken this unexpected turn.

In this peculiar situation, the standoff in the training hall underwent a subtle shift.

Staring at Wu Xiaofei on the opposite side, Fang Li posed an inexplicable question.

“First Senior Brother, what is your purpose in martial arts?”

Wu Xiaofei blinked in surprise.

Even Cecily and Zhao Hufeng exchanged puzzled glances, not comprehending why Fang Li had suddenly asked such a question.

After a brief pause, Wu Xiaofei responded, “I want to get stronger.”

“Oh?” Fang Li’s expression remained unchanged, and he continued to inquire, “And what is the purpose of getting stronger?”

Wu Xiaofei replied without hesitation, “To fulfill my Master’s wishes. My Master needs me to get stronger, so I must not disappoint my Master’s expectations.”

While his words lacked emotion, the sincerity and filial devotion in his response were undeniable. As Fan Xinglou had mentioned, Wu Xiaofei was wholeheartedly loyal and would never go against her teachings. Thus, Fan Xinglou’s affectionate smile grew.

Fang Li took a moment to process Wu Xiaofei’s answer before proceeding with his next question.

“First Senior Brother, do you think getting stronger is only about following orders?”

The silence lingered for a moment, and then Wu Xiaofei responded, “No, I also want to protect the ones I care about.”

Although his words were brief, the depth of his conviction was clear. It was evident that he was motivated by more than just following orders.

Fang Li remained calm and asked, “First Senior Brother, have you ever considered getting stronger for yourself?”

This question left Wu Xiaofei deep in thought. Finally, he replied, “For myself?”

Fang Li nodded. “Yes, for your own growth and aspirations. Not just to meet your Master’s expectations, but because it’s your own desire to become stronger.”

Wu Xiaofei paused and thought about it before responding, “I’ve never really thought about it that way.”

This exchange between Fang Li and Wu Xiaofei bewildered Cecily and Zhao Hufeng, who still couldn’t grasp the purpose behind these questions.

However, Fan Xinglou, who understood her disciples better than anyone, maintained her joyful smile, appreciating the direction of the conversation.

Fang Li, now satisfied with Wu Xiaofei’s answer, declared, “First Senior Brother, if you approach your training with the desire to become stronger for your own sake, then you can truly unleash your full potential.”

His words were unambiguous, leaving both Cecily and Zhao Hufeng stunned.

Wu Xiaofei slightly furrowed his brows, showing signs of contemplation. Fang Li didn’t waste any more time.

“Alright,” Fang Li declared, “let’s begin.”

Wu Xiaofei nodded, his body tensing up.

“Hū—!”

A fierce wind arose. Wu Xiaofei’s figure transformed into a gust of wind, hurtling toward Fang Li at an astonishing speed.

This speed was even faster than his previous sparring with Fan Xinglou.

As Wu Xiaofei approached like a whirlwind, Fang Li’s eyes flickered. In the next instant, he sidestepped abruptly to the left, making an unexpected move.

“Chī—!”

In the Yellow Dragon Temple, Genbu Hall, the two disciples faced each other, each with a resolute look.

On one side stood Wu Xiaofei, and on the other was Fang Li. Fan Xinglou, their master, watched them intently, her earlier boredom replaced by keen interest. She knew her disciples well.

Cecily and Zhao Hufeng remained bewildered by the situation, unable to fathom why things had taken such a turn.

As Fang Li’s body made a quick dodge, Wu Xiaofei closed the distance between them, his hand enveloped in a dense Prana. His palm grazed Fang Li’s shoulder, creating a faint breaking sound, but it landed in empty space.

Wu Xiaofei’s missed strike didn’t perturb him; instead, he swiftly moved his feet and transformed into a whirlwind, advancing toward Fang Li.

In response to Wu Xiaofei’s rapid approach, Fang Li smiled, his feet tapping the ground. He moved even faster than Wu Xiaofei, keeping his body low and almost grazing the ground. He slid away with remarkable speed.

Wu Xiaofei radiated a dense Prana, causing blue sparks resembling starlight to rotate around his body. His speed skyrocketed, and with a loud “Xiū,” he transformed into an afterimage, launching a powerful strike that seemed to topple mountains and overturn seas.

Yet, Fang Li calmly anticipated his attack and moved with an unpredictable curve just before the strike. He dodged Wu Xiaofei’s attack without hesitation.

“BOOM—!”

Wu Xiaofei’s powerful strike landed in thin air, producing a deafening explosion. Unfortunately, a powerful strike without impact was meaningless.

Undeterred, Wu Xiaofei relentlessly advanced towards Fang Li, intensifying his attacks. Towards the end, Cecily and Zhao Hufeng could only see a flurry of fist strikes and palm attacks.

Even so, Fang Li’s composure remained exceptional. He occasionally stepped forward, moved backward, dodged left, and sidestepped right with incredible simplicity and agility, perfectly avoiding Wu Xiaofei’s relentless attacks.

Despite Wu Xiaofei’s flurry of strikes, Fang Li’s figure remained elusive. He was like a falling leaf riding the wind, gracefully navigating through Wu Xiaofei’s formidable fist strikes and palm attacks.

Cecily and Zhao Hufeng stared at the scene with wide-eyes, they couldn’t believe what they were witnessing.

“How is this even possible?” Cecily couldn’t conceal her disbelief. “First Senior Brother can’t overpower Little Junior Brother?”

“No, it’s more than that,” Zhao Hufeng, the leader of the Wood Faction, chimed in. He was slightly weaker than Wu Xiaofei in martial arts, which allowed him to see the hidden truth. With a tone of incredulity, he explained, “First Senior Brother’s attacks have all been predicted by Junior Brother Fang in advance, which is why he can’t land a single hit.”

Indeed, Fang Li had predicted every one of Wu Xiaofei’s moves in advance, allowing him to evade Wu Xiaofei’s attacks effortlessly. It was as if Fang Li had an intricate knowledge of Fan Xinglou’s techniques, and he artfully turned Wu Xiaofei’s formidable assaults into mere air.

In this situation, Fang Li, as graceful as a falling leaf riding the wind, suddenly spoke up.

“Do you know, Master always had humanoid Immortal Tools for my training sessions?” He said seemingly out of context, leaving Wu Xiaofei momentarily stunned.

“Although those Immortal Tools lack consciousness, Master inscribed her techniques into them. They’ve been training with me daily, so I’ve learned Master’s techniques inside out,” Fang Li continued as if musing aloud. “And First Senior Brother, did you know?”

“Your techniques are almost identical to the ones inscribed in the Immortal Tools by Master.”

With this revelation, Fang Li’s figure abruptly froze, and he swiftly advanced, easily evading Wu Xiaofei’s strikes. Finally, Fang Li’s hand moved with the speed of lightning, grasping Wu Xiaofei’s neck. He unleashed a technique known as “Flashing Scabbard-One Wind.”

Fang Li twisted his body, lifting Wu Xiaofei high into the air and, as if executing a throw, he slammed him onto the ground.

“Bang—!”

The impact was loud and clear as Wu Xiaofei was unceremoniously thrown to the ground.
