“Bang—!”
The loud gunshot echoed throughout the dim laboratory, illuminating the darkness as the muzzle flash shone brightly, dazzling like a fireworks display.
The bullet, breaking the sound barrier, sliced through space and shot forward with a violent speed. However, before that happened, Fang Li had already disappeared on the spot, seemingly vanishing into thin air.
“Clang—!”
The bullet that shot violently forward embedded itself into the laboratory wall, scraping against the metallic floor and creating sparks.
“What…?!” Rollins Wright exclaimed in shock when he saw this scene.
At the same time, a figure swiftly traversed the dark space, silently appearing in front of Rollins Wright without his notice.
“Do you know? You’ve made a grave mistake.”
Under this voice, a dagger resembling a crescent moon suddenly flashed and cut across Rollins Wright’s hand.
“Pu Chi—!”
Accompanied by the crisp sound of his body being sliced open by the sharp weapon, blood gushed from Rollins Wright’s hand, which was cleanly severed from the wrist.

The bloodied palm maintained its grip on the gun as it fell to the ground.

But before the scream could fully escape, a foot heavily kicked him in the chest.
“Thud—!”
Amidst the stifling sound, Rollins Wright was sent flying, crashing forcefully into a large culture tank and spewing a mouthful of blood.
“You…” Rollins Wright struggled to lift his head, his gaze filled with fear as he looked ahead.
Fang Li smirked and, under Rollins Wright’s terrified gaze, slowly walked over.
“You always thought of me as just an ordinary soldier, so you never paid any attention to me.”
Holding a dagger dripping with blood, Fang Li, like a murderous demon, slowly lifted the corners of his mouth as he spoke. “Unfortunately, it’s this very thought of yours that led to the current situation you find yourself in.”
If it had been Amamiya Rindou, Tachibana Sakuya, or Soma, God Eaters with formidable combat abilities, Rollins Wright would never have assumed that simply wielding a gun would be enough to defeat them. He might have even set traps and arranged for the intruders’ demise without giving them a chance to appear.
Given Rollins Wright’s meticulous thinking and willingness to use any means necessary, he was certainly capable of such actions.
However, Rollins Wright had underestimated Fang Li’s abilities.
“While I may not be a God Eater, I am far from being the mere soldier you saw me as. At the very least, dealing with someone like you, who was powerless just two years ago, is much easier than you can imagine.”
Fang Li approached Rollins Wright fallen figure, towering over him and looking down at him as he spoke with an indifferent expression on his face.
“So, embrace your regrets and descend into hell.”
Saying this, Fang Li raised the sharp dagger in his hand, pointing its tip directly at Rollins Wright.
“W-Wait… Wait!” Rollins Wright shouted loudly, “You can’t kill me! Besides me, no one else knows how to control Eros. If you kill me, the Russian Branch will be destroyed by the Aragami!”
At this critical moment, Rollins Wright actually used the entire Russian Branch as leverage.
“It’s not just the Russian Branch, controlling Eros’ methods even determines the fate of humanity. If you kill me, humans will never be able to escape the threat of the Aragami!” Rollins Wright shouted, “You have to think it through and not become a sinner for all mankind!”
“Sinner?” Fang Li’s hand suddenly stopped, and he sneered, “You speak as if you’re so noble. Do you really think I believe that your research on Eros is for the sake of all mankind?”
Under Fang Li’s mocking gaze, Rollins Wright felt as if his heart had been laid bare, and he started to panic.
However, Rollins Wright stubbornly replied, “I study Eros to conquer the Aragami and free humanity from their threat. How could it be wrong?”
“That’s not entirely wrong,” Fang Li replied indifferently and continued to speak. “But if you were truly acting in the best interest of all mankind then why didn’t you hand over Eros to Fenrir’s headquarters instead of conducting secretive research at the Russian Branch? If you had gathered all the experts from Fenrir Organization to study it, you wouldn’t have needed a whole ten years to discover the method of controlling Eros, would you?”
Rollins Wright’s heart began to race in response to Fang Li’s question.
As Fang Li continued to gaze at Rollins Wright with increasing mockery in his eyes, the truth seemed to unfold before them.
“From the moment you conspired to conceal the existence of Eros and framed us, you exposed your true intentions,” Fang Li stated.
“Let me tell you, your research on Eros is not for the sake of all mankind but for yourself.”
“Once you secretly develop a means to control Eros and use it to manipulate the Aragami worldwide, you would gain a power capable of threatening all mankind. And with that power, you could easily obtain many things that others can only dream of: Privileges, Power, Wealth, Women, and many others. As long as you become the arbiter of life and death for humanity, these things would be within your grasp at any time.”
“Therefore, from the moment you acquired Eros, you harbored greedy thoughts. You went to great lengths to become an expert in Eros research, successfully holding the key to a life of luxury and prosperity.”
“It seems that to conceal Eros’ existence, to avoid detection by the headquarters, and conduct secretive research, you even manipulated the Russian Branch’s Branch Chief, making him understand the true significance of possessing Eros and causing him to develop the same greedy thoughts as you, joining forces with you in this corrupt endeavor.”
“Because of this, you needed to eliminate threats like us who sought to approach Eros by any means necessary. Otherwise, once exposed, Eros would be confiscated by Headquarters, leaving you with nothing. Your grand ambitions would be in vain.”
“Am I right?”
With each word spoken by Fang Li, Rollins Wright’s heart trembled, and his complexion gradually turned unsightly.
Clearly, Fang Li had hit the mark on every point.
“What do you have to say now?” Fang Li sneered. “You know what? I despise hypocrites like you the most!”
As the words fell, a chilling blade light suddenly flashed, slashing across Rollins Wright’s neck.

With the sound of tearing fabric, blood sprayed onto the ground and Rollins Wright’s eyes widened, wearing an expression of disbelief as his pupils dilated, and he slowly fell to the ground.
