In a massive and grand arena that is usually used for competitions and artistic performances, but this time it serves as the stage for the match between Tenraku and Sairaorg.
The official start time of the match is in the evening, still several hours away from now, yet the entire venue is already packed with people, even surprising Tenraku.
Is it a hundred thousand or a million? A quick glance reveals a sea of heads everywhere, representing a diverse mix of races from around the world: humans, Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels, Elves, Yōkai, Dragon Race, and even many skeletons wielding staffs and scythes.
If I’m not mistaken, those guys should be Reapers from Hell, right?!
“How’s it going, kid? Did you get startled?” Azazel says with a pat on Tenraku’s shoulder.
“A bit…” Tenraku responds, grinning.
Although there were decent crowds in the previous matches, this scene is truly on a different scale.
“Sairaorg is known as the chief of the Underworld’s new generation of Devils, and you are the miracle that has risen crazily in the Phenex family. This match between you two is also called the ultimate showdown of the Underworld’s new generation,” Azazel explains.
“Moreover, Sairaorg is the next in line for the Great King position in the House of Bael, while you are the brother-in-law of the current Lucifer. Some bored old folks see this match as a game between the Great King Faction and the Demon King Faction.”
“Of course, both of you used to be quite infamous as ‘Underworld’s two cripples,’ which adds an interesting twist. So, the attention on this match is beyond imagination.”
“Well… they could do whatever they want. For me, I just need to have a good fight with Sairaorg.”
“Exactly, that’s all you need to focus on.”
“I see some familiar faces. I’ll go greet them. You guys enjoy yourselves.”
Azazel goes to greet his acquaintances, while Tenraku and Rias’ group explore the venue.
It must be said that such a lively scene is a rare sight even in the entire Underworld. Furthermore, Tenraku is struck by the fact that various races and members of different god systems are mingling and chatting.
A year ago, this would have been unthinkable— encounters between Devils, Angels, or Fallen Angels would have inevitably led to violent confrontations.
Despite the efforts of Sirzechs, Azazel, and Michael, this peace seems almost excessive, as if an invisible hand is orchestrating everything. Although Tenraku perceives this, he doesn’t pay too much attention. While he enjoys the thrill of battle, he dislikes senseless violence. World peace is always a good thing.
“Ah, Odin-Sama!”
Suddenly spotting the old man Odin, Rossweisse exclaims.
“Oh no, run!”
Seeing Tenraku’s group, Odin twitches his beard and hurriedly leaves without looking back.
“Stop right there, you old fart! What’s the deal with that new guy next to you?”
Full of anger, Rossweisse manifests her Valkyrie form and chases after him.
Despite how much she helped him in the past, Odin ungratefully dismissed and abandoned her. Back then, Rossweisse had sworn that if she ever saw Odin again, she’d turn him into a pig’s head.
“Is Rossweisse San okay?”
“Don’t worry, she’ll be back once she gives Odin a beating.” With a light laugh, Tenraku reassures Asia, who looks worried.
Not dwelling on Odin’s antics, Tenraku and the girls continue to explore the venue, meeting several familiar faces, including President Sama and her Peerage.
“Don’t lose.”
After a casual greeting, Sona leaves with her Peerage.
Tenraku wasn’t too bothered, but Rias furrows her brows when she heard this.
“It feels like Sona’s been avoiding us lately…”
Previously, Sona would occasionally come to play basketball or relax in the hot springs with them, but recently, she has hardly sought them out. Even when they do cross paths, she only exchanges greetings and doesn’t engage further.
Rias is sure they haven’t done anything to upset Sona, yet she seems to be deliberately avoiding them.
Glancing at Tenraku, a hint of suspicion flickered in Rias’ eyes. Could this guy have done something again?
Rias’ intuition was indeed sharp. Although Tenraku’s expression remained unchanged, his heart was pounding relentlessly. Well, how should I put it, this feeling of a racing heart is surprisingly not bad…
“Rias, we should head to the rest area to prepare for the match. What about you all?”
“We’re about to head to the viewing area.”
Time was growing late, and Tenraku needed to prepare for the upcoming match. The enthusiasm for leisurely wandering around had also faded among Rias and the other girls.
“Onii-Chan, we’ll cheer you on!”
“Tenraku-San, don’t lose.”
Pulling on the hem of Tenraku’s clothes, Kunou and Koneko-Chan said.
“Ah, with Kunou and Koneko-chan cheering for us, there’s no way we’ll lose!”
Patting the heads of the young girls, Tenraku chuckled as he spoke.
After they all cheered on Tenraku, Rias and her girls headed for the viewing area. However, Raynare, Mittelt, and Kalawarner didn’t follow the group.
“Raynare, those are your friends, right? They’ve been with us for quite a while. Why don’t you go and say hi?”
Pointing in the direction of the fallen angel girls, Tenraku teased.
In the direction Tenraku indicated, a group of fallen angel girls stood among the crowd, about 5 to 6 of them. They had been following Tenraku’s group since they entered the venue. Initially, Tenraku thought it was because of Azazel, but later he realized that their focus was on Raynare, Mittelt, and Kalawarner.
“Yes, Master.”
With a slight smile on her lips, Raynare led Mittelt and Kalawarner over.
Not worrying about his three “tools” being bullied by the other group, Tenraku and the Yubelluna girls headed to the dedicated rest area for the match, preparing for the impending battle.
“Long time no see, Raynare.”
As Raynare’s group approached, a fallen angel girl standing in the front spoke with a smile.
“Indeed, it’s been a while, Chessia.”
Raynare responded with a smile that suggested she was meeting a long-lost friend. The fallen angel girl referred to as Chessia possessed a bewitchingly beautiful face, a striking and voluptuous figure, and even her voice carried a tantalizing allure. The other fallen angel girls seemed to follow her lead.
All the girls wore sweet smiles on their faces, and at first glance, one might mistake them for long-lost friends. If only their gazes weren’t so cold…
