DBSKS Chapter 282 The shadow disrupting the time

After a while, on Planet Vegeta, Chronoa finished explaining everything and prepared to leave with Lin Chen.

Broly took this opportunity to bid farewell to his father as well.

Bardock and the others knew that both Lin Chen and Broly were about to go on a journey with the gods, and they felt happy for them, seeing it as a great opportunity.

The only ones not happy were Tights and others.

Who knows how long Lin Chen is going to be away for, and they couldn’t follow him as before, so they could only watch him leave.

“Take good care of the two little brats. I’ll come back whenever I have the chance,” Lin Chen said, holding their hands.

“Lin Chen, Broly and I will leave first.”

Whis stood in front of the Saiyan Palace’s open space, with a pile of packaged food in front of him.

Lin Chen nodded to them.

“We’ll be leaving then, Lin Chen. You must also work hard.”

As an angel, Whis wasn’t concerned about matters related to time and order as they didn’t fall under his jurisdiction. After bidding farewell to Lin Chen and Chronoa, he took Broly and headed to the God of Destruction’s realm.

Once they left, Chronoa turned to Lin Chen and said, “Alright, let’s go too.”

“Sure.”

Like Whis, Chronoa also brought a lot of food to take back. Regardless of where they come from, all these gods seemed like bumpkins who haven’t seen the world.

“Lin Chen, put your hand on my back, and we’ll head to the Time Nest,” Chronoa said, forming a circular motion with her finger, creating a round, spatial black hole in front of them.

“Let’s go,” she said with a relaxed tone as she took Lin Chen through the black hole.

The black hole was similar to Lin Chen’s Space-Time door, leading to a strange alternate dimension.

They flew to the edge of the space and then arrived at a peculiar place.

This place seemed like a space station floating in the space, surrounded by transparent domes that provided a view of the vast starry sky outside and several enormous planets that looked like moons.

In the center of this space was an oddly styled palace with a towering ancient tree in the middle.

“Gululu!”

Suddenly, a strange bird resembling an owl flew over.

It circled around Lin Chen twice before landing on Chronoa’s head.

Chronoa gestured around with her finger and said, “This is the Time Nest. It transcends the universe and even Zeno-sama cannot come here. It’s my special world, where I monitor the flow of time.”

“This bird is called Tokitoki, and it’s just the two of us here, and now there’s one more – you!”

Lin Chen nodded and then asked, “Chronoa-sama, can you tell me what you want me to do now? I’ve been curious about what you mean by disrupting time. Does it involve changing history? But as far as I know, changing history creates a parallel universe, right?”

“Looks like you’re not completely clueless. Come, let’s talk while we walk.”

Chronoa patted Tokitoki’s bottom, prompting it to take flight, and then she led Lin Chen towards the interior of the palace.

As they walked, Chronoa explained, “Actually you’re right. Ordinary time disturbances do create new parallel universes.”

“For instance, I know you went to another world in the past and dealt with the Android threat there, right? If you hadn’t intervened, that world’s Multiverse would have been ruled by Android Cell in the future.”

“However, because of your actions, a parallel universe where Android Cell was defeated came into existence.”

“Your actions indeed disrupted the flow of time.”

“Huh? Hahaha,” Lin Chen chuckled awkwardly.

Chronoa patted his shoulder reassuringly, saying, “Don’t worry about it. Occasionally, such situations happen, and I’ve already forgiven you for your mistakes.”

“The key issue now is that recently, for some unknown reason, someone is maliciously disrupting the flow of time, continuously creating new parallel universes!”

“Is there a problem with that?” Lin Chen asked curiously.

“Of course there’s a problem! It’s a big problem!”

Under Chronoa’s explanation, Lin Chen finally gained a clearer understanding of the framework of this world.

Before this, he already knew that in this world, from a broad perspective, it was divided into several small universes, such as the one he was in, Universe 7, and the other 11 universes.

Together, these 12 universes formed the macrocosm known as the Multiverse.

Outside the macrocosm, there were several parallel universes associated with it. Apart from these, there were also parallel worlds unrelated to the macrocosm. The world Future Trunks came from was one such parallel world, as was Lazuli’s world.

These parallel worlds could consist of just one small universe, or they could be a complete another Multiverse. In the latter case, their world might have its own Zeno, Supreme Kai, and God of Destruction. In the former, they might not even have a Supreme Kai.

However, amidst these numerous parallel worlds, there was one unique place—the Time Nest.

Regardless of how many parallel worlds exist, there would always be only one Time Nest. That was the framework of this world.

However, even though there were many parallel worlds in this universe, there was a problem—the number of parallel worlds had a limit. Once the number exceeded this limit, terrible things could happen.

“Terrible things?” Lin Chen questioned in confusion.

“Yes! Terrible things!” Chronoa repeated with a grave tone.

“In simple terms, you can consider all our worlds as rooms, and the Time Nest where we are is like the roof of this house.”

“The space within the house is limited, and if the number of parallel worlds keeps increasing, eventually, the house will collapse! All the parallel worlds, including my Time Nest, will be destroyed!”

Upon hearing this, Lin Chen finally understood the severity of the problem and why disrupting time was considered a serious crime in the Dragon Ball world. It turned out that if time disruptions happened too frequently, all the worlds could end up facing destruction!

“Wait! Chronoa-sama, if disrupting time is so dangerous, why would anyone still attempt it? Isn’t that equivalent to suicide?”

“The specific reason is still under investigation. Lin Chen, your current task is to go and restore the disturbed timelines!”

With that said, the two had already entered the palace.

It looked like a library, with rows of bookshelves surrounding them, and on these shelves were numerous scrolls.

Most of the scrolls were white, but some were tainted with dark energy.
