He’s only short sighted in some parts of Super, and as a kid. In canon Vegeta is the short sighted for most of the story. In DBZ Goku was very insightful, and honestly realized SSJ3 was a largely useless form shortly after using it for a few times while having a body, focusing on perfecting his base and base SSJ knowing doing that will improve every other form he can access. Even in Super he takes insights and correction given by Whis pretty well. It’s how he got Ultra Instinct. Here they just… insist he’s a lot cause for no real reason. Another commented suggested it’s because the Lead Character knows Goku will surpass him if directed in the right path but I don’t know. I feel it’s done because they wrote Xiaya as having the insights and training direction Goku does, and don’t want to double up in a sense.
The author must be one of those who don’t like the way Vegeta has never shown himself to be superior to Goku in the Manga.
Yeah, quite likely. Granted, the entire point of the Goku/Vegeta dynamic is that Bloodline and Social Standing doesn’t equate to hard work, the whole Saiyan Elite and Prince vs Low Class Warrior with the latter, Goku, always managing to get ahead just because of his hardwork and talent in battle, and proving that Status doesn’t mean Superiority since Goku excels in what Saiyan’s pride themselves on. But… Vegeta Fans XD
Also, don’t take me wrong. Still loving the story. Seriously, 741 chapters and I still enjoy it. It just peeves me every time Local Universe Goku comes up, since they never miss the change to poke fun at Goku saying ‘He’s doing it wrong’. Look how much effort went into patting Vegeta on the head for how he’s improved his realm while Goku has wasted his time on SSJ3. It’s not even like you can improve your realm without access to help from someone like an Angel, which they’ve denied him repeatedly -.- Okay, it annoys me a lot XD
