Jewel Ice Sheet is an incredibly unique continent of ice. No matter how hard you try to cut, chisel, or melt it, it remains indestructible. The only way to open it is by infusing a tremendous amount of force into a single point, and only then can this special ice layer be breached.
However, different substances have their inherent frequencies. When the vibrations from the outside world closely match the inherent frequency of an object, the object itself can resonate, leading to its fragmentation.
In terms of speed, Zeraora ranks among the top within the Beasts Pirates, which is why he can accomplish this feat—using resonance to shatter the ice layer above.
Credit for this goes to Queen, who is currently tutoring Diancie, and Acier, who is conducting experiments. As top-tier technological talents within the Beasts Pirates, their knowledge of physics and chemistry is quite impressive.
Although their expertise lies elsewhere, their foundational theory is solid.
“Let’s go, and see what’s beneath.”
Breaking this ice layer was not, of course, for the sake of studying physics. From this height, even someone like Setsuna could jump down without a problem. As the coins on the ground were sent flying to the side, one couldn’t help but be amazed by the immense wealth, even after having seen the world.
The area beneath the ice layer was slightly cold, but for a Mink, this temperature wasn’t a problem. The temperature on Zunesha’s back is also not high, making them naturally resistant to cold, so moving around in this cold environment didn’t affect her.
Afterwards, Setsuna grabbed a handful of treasure and gazed at the endless sea of gold, prompting doubts to arise in her mind.
“Zeraora, these treasures couldn’t have ended up here by themselves, right? Who would place treasures in such a location?”
This method of hiding treasures is quite unconventional. John’s treasures were hidden in a place that ordinary people couldn’t reach, whereas anyone who comes here can see it.
It could be seen as a kind of unguarded storage, only requiring strength. Just like casting silver into giant ingots weighing tons, as long as the other party couldn’t take them away, there was no harm in leaving them outside.
“I’m not sure either, but we’ll find out soon.”
His gaze turned toward the ice layer above; he could sense someone approaching rapidly.
Setsuna was right; treasures don’t gather on their own. These treasures are the accumulation of generations of Kano Country’s Happo Navy, and the person approaching above is the semi-retired leader of the Happo Navy.
12th generation’s leader, Chinjao.
Ten years ago, he was a notorious pirate captain with a bounty of 542,000,000 Berries, known as Chinjao the Drill, a prominent figure in the seas back then.
However, he collided head-on with Garp and had his proud drill head crushed by a single punch during their confrontation.
Perhaps due to Kano Country using its status as an allied nation to apply pressure to the World Government, Chinjao, who was defeated, wasn’t arrested. Instead, he was brought back to Kano Country by his subordinates.
However, losing his cherished drill head resulted in a painful consequence: he could no longer open the Jewel Ice Sheet and could only gaze at those treasures from a distance.
The reason Chinjao the Drill is called “the Drill” is because of his peculiar head. Now that he had lost his drill head, his enthusiasm has waned considerably. Since then, he has settled into a semi-retired life in the Kano Country, with his most frequent activity being teaching his own grandson.
Nostalgizing about the past at the Jewel Ice Sheet was something Chinjao often did. Although he couldn’t touch them, looking at the treasures beneath the ice layer could somewhat soothe his heart.
In any case, no one in Kano Country could break through this ice layer. Only those who had mastered the Hasshoken Secret Art and earned the title of “Drill Head” had a chance to break the ice layer.
However, today, the sturdy ice layer unexpectedly cracked open, and the gap was even larger than any he had previously opened. In the past, he had only managed to create a partial opening, but this time, the crack extended across a large expanse of ice sheet.
“Could it be…”
As he looked at the cracked ice layer, the burly man stood up and followed along the crevice.
Although he had lost his drill head, his spirit was still alive. He could still use Haki and other skills. His sturdy body ran along the ice layer, and soon he spotted Setsuna and Zeraora on the treasure mountain.
“You two treasure thieves, stop right there!”
Being able to break the Jewel Ice Sheet proved that the other party’s strength could not be underestimated. However, when he saw them on his treasure, it seemed like rationality fled his mind.
Moments ago, he had managed to restrain his impulses because he knew that if the ice sheet closed up and he couldn’t break them, he would be trapped below.
But when he saw the people he suspected to be treasure thieves, he couldn’t hold back at all. At this moment, his beard was mostly black, with some white strands mixed in. Aura flowed through his body, and even his beard fluttered.
Then, Chinjao leaped high into the air, his head, which had been rounded by Garp, enveloped in Haki. He took aim at the person below and smashed down.
“Hasshoken: Buto!”
Seeing the massive figure descending from the sky, Zeraora lifted Setsuna into the air and Chinjao crashed into the treasure mountain below.
“Uh… we’re not treasure thieves. It’s a misunderstanding.”
Setsuna had heard Chinjao’s accusation of being treasure thieves clearly. She was here for a vacation, not to steal someone’s treasure. Her curiosity about this ice layer surpassed her interest in the treasure.
“Hiyahoho. It’s quite hard to believe that, Mink brat. Jewel Ice Sheet is not a place outsiders should set foot in, what’s more you’re standing right on my treasure.”
Chinjao chuckled, clearly not buying her explanation. Climbing out from the treasure, he adjusted his head and aimed it at the two above.
“Zeraora.”
“Yeah, I understand.”
They couldn’t afford to get hit. Since this enraged man wouldn’t listen to reason, they decided to make him listen first.
Chinjao, who had retired from the outside world, knew little about Zeraora’s identity. When he adjusted the angle for another attack, Zeraora and Setsuna had already separated on both sides in the sky.
Setsuna could fly using Magnet Rise, but she couldn’t match Zeraora’s speed. After a moment’s thought, she didn’t remove her bow from her back; instead, she transformed into Lucario.
Unless her objective was to kill, she wouldn’t use her bow, which was why she chose this form to strengthen her close-combat skills.
“Devil fruit users, huh! You brats, when I was sailing the seas, you were still playing house. Hasshoken: Hunt!”
This time, it wasn’t just his head; even his hands were enveloped in Armament Haki. Despite his seemingly bulky body, he was incredibly agile. In the blink of an eye, he had jumped high into the sky and unleashed a flurry of punches toward Zeraora.
However, Zeraora was faster. While its fists were smaller than Chinjao’s, the dazzling lightning quickly illuminated the ice layer.
