APJ Chapter 316 Geodude developing romantic feelings for Gigalith

He couldn’t figure out what had happened, so he chose silence and observed everything that was unfolding.

He had another reason for doing this, which stemmed from his own overthinking. He thought that Oden’s sudden estrangement lately was a hint to him, meaning that if anything really happened, he should do nothing.

Originally, he didn’t understand why Kozuki Oden had suddenly started ignoring him, even when his wife personally invited him to their home.

Now, it all seemed to make sense.

After the funeral of Kozuki Oden and the Daimyos, and Shogun’s inauguration ceremony, he chose to pay his respects alone.

Preparation of many things was entrusted to the people of Wano Country, and among those was also Kojiro. His status had undergone a significant change after that night.

Although the number of people in his family was small, his family is now considered one of the top families in Wano Country.

Meanwhile, Kaido fell into his old habit again– his collector’s obsession resurfaced.

Due to various reasons, Shogun and the Daimyos couldn’t easily be recruited, but others were fair game.

At this moment, in the Udon quarry, the group of prisoners and pirates who rioted had been executed, while the remaining ones were being recruited by Kaido.

“I’m giving you all a chance now. Join me, and your crimes from last night will be forgiven, but this offer is only for the samurai.”

His standards have also risen. There are plenty of foot soldiers, but those low-level thugs are not worth recruiting. Instead, he is interested in those samurai who fought his men to a standstill.

However, most samurai resisted, and they ended up staying here as a new mining team. While the quickest to surrender were Orochi’s Oniwabanshu.

These special ninjas managed to spark some interest in Kaido, so he gave them a chance. During last night’s battle, Fukurokuju, Daikoku, Hanzo and Jigoku Benten all met their demise.

The remaining seven people almost immediately surrendered without hesitation. They had done the same thing when Orochi became Shogun. Kaido didn’t need such people, but he was planning to give the Oniwabanshu to Kozuki Hiyori to use as an honor guard.

And it just so happens that these so-called ninjas have some reputation in Wano Country, so he decided to make use of them.

After Kaido left, one of Babanuki’s subordinates approached him.

“Boss Babanuki, why didn’t you tell the Governor-General about that matter just now?”

“Are you new here?”

Babanuki didn’t answer but looked at the pirate with some hesitation.

“Oh, I joined the Beasts Pirates two years ago and only recently got transferred to Wano Country from the outside.”

“No wonder you don’t know anything. It’s useless to tell Governor-General Kaido about this kind of thing. Just wait for Lord Arceus’ arrangements.”

The question he wanted to raise was simple: he realized that he couldn’t let the miners eat too much because when these people were well-fed, they would cause trouble. However, if they didn’t eat enough, it would also affect their mining efficiency.

The turmoil from last night left Babanuki in a dilemma, and he couldn’t figure out how to handle this problem. So, he escalated the matter higher up. Shortly after Kaido’s departure, Arceus arrived at the quarry.

The group that had assembled in the mining camp to welcome Kaido had not yet dispersed, and they promptly gathered once again.

“Lord Arceus, why did you come here in person?”

“I came to resolve the issue you mentioned and to check on that child.”

As soon as he spoke, some pebbles on the ground shook, and Aggron, almost the size of a Pacifista, rushed over. You could still see some iron shavings at the corners of its mouth, suggesting it had been in the middle of eating.

Watching the steel giant behave as gently as a pet in front of Arceus, the expressions of some prisoners changed. They had earlier seen just how terrifying Aggron could be when it goes berserk.

Previously, it seemed to have smashed a massive ore for training purposes. The pirates were already accustomed to it, as even when it was still Lairon, it often used its head to collide with mountains as a form of practice.

At Aggron’s feet, there were several Geodude. These normally irritable Rock-type Pokémon displayed extreme gentleness in front of Arceus.

“Is that so? I see, you’ve done well. Today, you’ll have some new companions.”

Arceus responded to the Pokémon’s words, and upon hearing this, Aggron immediately brought a large piece of Seastone ore. The Geodude were eagerly waiting nearby.

Under the influence of the power of the Stone Plate, the Seastone ore underwent a huge transformation.

Under this power, the ore began to disassemble and reassemble, giving rise to a Pokémon with a body made of rocks, similar to Geodude. However, it wasn’t a sphere, but a Pokémon with a body and four limbs covered in sharp and protruding multicolored crystals.

Compressed Pokémon – Gigalith

Gigalith’s main body consists of a roughly conical rock structure, with a distinct differently colored crystal in front of its chest and at the center of its back.

On Gigalith’s head, there is a crystal that extends from its forehead to its brow and down to its chin. Additionally, there is a crystal on each side of its chin and head.

Triangular rocks formed its limbs, each ending in two sharp crystals that form its claws.

Grey-black joints connect its body and limbs, and while typical Gigaliths have orange-colored crystals on their bodies, this particular Gigalith has crystals that are deep blue, similar to the patterns on Geodude.

These crystals serve to absorb sunlight and, after undergoing a reaction in its energy core, emit them as energy balls from its mouth, which is Gigalith’s primary method of attack.

In the Pokémon world, these creatures often buried themselves underground, exposing only their crystal-covered heads. Even though the color had changed, the deep blue light-absorbing properties actually became better.

The energy balls launched by Gigalith are incredibly powerful. With it here, it’s like having an additional mobile artillery at the mine.

The disadvantage was that it couldn’t fire during the night or in rainy weather; it could only do that under clear skies.

Furthermore, Gigalith has always been the favorite Pokémon of miners, thanks to its strength and abilities that make it a valuable asset in mining, whether for digging tunnels or breaking apart rocks in the mountains.

Arceus has come this time to create Gigalith, not only to enhance the mining capabilities of the mine but also to bolster its defenses.

However, when it appeared, the Geodude seemed to become restless. Shortly after its appearance, they surrounded Gigalith. This was because Geodude and Aggron were both male, but this Gigalith was different – it was female.

Arceus had randomly decided on the gender, not paying much attention to it. However, both Geodude and Gigalith belonged to the Mineral Egg Group, and these Geodude, who had never seen a female Geodude, apparently developed romantic feelings.
