After successfully creating Geodude, Arceus decided to make a few more giant ones to test. There was a considerable amount of raw ore brought by Babanuki, and these ores could be used for many things.
Arceus repeated actions similar to before, but this time, the energy output was greater, and the ores did not split into spherical Geodude but combined together.
The body was composed of multiple large gray rocks, and its appearance, formed by connecting these massive rocks, resembled a giant serpent. It had the same deep blue and black spotted patterns as Geodude, and on top of its head was a horn entirely made of Seastone.
Seastone Onix, also a Rock-type Pokémon which has been active in various generations, appeared and immediately created two large holes in the ground.
This was their living habit. Onix’s digging speed underground could reach 80 kilometers per hour. Due to the magnet in its brain, even when digging underground, it wouldn’t lose its sense of direction.
Similar to Geodude, as their age increases, their body becomes rounder, and when younger, their edges are more distinct.
This kind of Onix could easily capture a devil fruit user with its Bind move, leaving them no room for escape.
“Wow, amazing!”
Babanuki marveled at the Onix that had easily created two large holes in the ground. As the warden of the mining site, he knew how tough the ground here was. Even several strong men would take half a day to dig a small pit.
However, Onix easily drilled two large holes and still looked excited. This was how Onix trained itself. They would drill and move through hard rock strata, tempering their bodies through pressure.
Once their bodies have accumulated enough metallic minerals and they reach a sufficient depth, the high temperature and pressure underground would give them a chance to evolve into Steelix.
After that, Arceus stopped. It wasn’t that he couldn’t continue creating, but creating too many might be difficult to sustain. These Rock-type Pokémon usually had to eat some ores, and judging from their Seastone-based bodies, Seastone could become their food.
But, it would be really difficult to raise so many of them. However, he could consider sending some ordinary Onix to other islands for mining or to below the Red Line to directly dig an underground palace.
Five Geodude and two Onix were the result of their efforts this time.
Newly born Pokémon are inevitably hungry, and the remaining raw ores became their food. However, they only ate a small amount of raw ore containing Seastone, and most of what they consumed was regular rocks.
However, some of the minerals were left untouched.
“Babanuki, what is this?” Arceus asked the warden, pointing at the oddly colored ore.
“That’s… Drunken Iron Ore? Who told you people to bring this here!”
Wano Country’s valuable minerals are not limited to Seastone alone; Drunken Iron Ore is another special mineral found here. Cursed Swords of Kitetsu series contains this material.
Seastone products mainly serve as restraining tools, while Wano Country’s exceptional weapons incorporate Drunken Iron Ore, a type of iron ore that enhances a weapon’s performance due to its superior quality.
The mining and smelting of Drunken Iron Ore is much more hazardous than Seastone. The toxic gas and wastewater generated in Udon region’s factory is greatly related to Drunken Iron Ore.
As a result, the workers inside the mining site are divided into different levels. Ordinary individuals are engaged in mining regular minerals, which is relatively easy, while those with slightly more serious crimes handle the excavation of Seastone.
These minerals require even more effort, leading to greater physical exertion. And the most serious offenders are involved in mining Drunken Iron Ore, which not only poses high difficulty but also significantly jeopardizes their safety during the mining process.
Geodude and Onix are not interested in this type of iron ore, but since Seastone-type Pokémon have appeared, there is no need to ignore Drunken Iron Ore.
Using Drunken Iron Ore and Seastone as the foundation, a small creature covered in an iron shell appeared.
Iron Armor Pokémon, Aron, Type: Steel + Rock.
It looks like a large insect with an oval-shaped head and body, but only four thick and short legs.
Its body is mainly gray-white color, with a metallic sheen. However, this particular Aron has demonic patterns on its body: wine-red and deep blue in color.
These patterns represent the presence of Drunken Iron Ore and Seastone within its body.
Its pair of blue eyes appear somewhat cute, but apart from its abdomen, head, limbs, and back, its body is covered in a thick layer of steel armor. There is also a horn-like structure on its back.
The armor on its body has some openings, which serve as ventilation holes and locations for its eyes.
As soon as it appeared, it started consuming the remaining iron ores to build a steel body for protection. Wild Aron will dig iron ores from the mountains to eat.
The quality of the iron ores would determine their future strength. They not only eat iron ores but any metal objects when feeling hungry, even rails.
However, they do provide something in return. Similar to crustaceans, they undergo molting during their growth process and the discarded armor becomes the best metal material.
“Babanuki, I’ll leave this one to you. Remember to feed it well. Its main diet is the ordinary metals outside, and Drunken Iron Ore can be considered a snack.”
“Understood, leave it to me!”
Drunken Iron Ore is an additive, not the main component. Large quantities of metal were brought in from Beasts Pirates’ outside territories, so it’s manageable to raise one Aron. Although it has a considerable appetite, compared to Larvitar, its food consumption is much lower.
“Alright, Geodude and Onix will stay here. They can help you with some difficult mining tasks, and if you want to open new mining tunnels, you can rely on Onix; they are all quite obedient.”
“Obedient?” Babanuki looked at the Geodude, who had already started fighting with each other, in contemplation. Their behavior didn’t seem to align with the term “obedient.”
“That’s their nature, don’t be surprised. They like to play around with each other. Onix will look for food on their own underground, and Geodude can manage with the leftover ore scraps. But for Aron, that child, if it gets hungry, who knows what it might eat.”
After leaving the several Pokémon here, Arceus and Kaido left.
“Boss Babanuki, how should we arrange them?”
“Don’t worry, Lord Arceus said they will find their own places to settle down. Remember to send them food in the morning.”
At this time, he saw some Geodude already climbing to the higher parts of the mining site and digging holes in the ground to embed themselves in, while others were making nests in the piles of ores.
