From Sky Island, one could overlook the entire Wano Country. The brilliantly lit Flower Capital and the sparsely lit villages on the outskirts formed a striking contrast.
Apart from the Flower Capital and the place where the Shogun resided, most areas were dimly lit, but the area where the Beasts Pirates lived emitted a different radiance.
This was the result of Arceus’ decoration. Though they have technology for electricity generation and storage, Kaido initially wanted a retro style for Onigashima, but Arceus considered it foolish to illuminate such a big building with torches.
So, below Onigashima, there were large energy storage devices. In this non-scientific world, the conversion efficiency of many energy sources was extremely high. For example, human-powered generators were the initial power source for Onigashima, later supplemented by some solar energy.
The “All-Round” Queen again showcased his usefulness. Initially, he wanted to build a hydroelectric power station near the waterfall behind Onigashima. However, the waterfall’s flow and location were insufficient to meet the demand.
Building the power station there would also reduce the waterfall’s flow outside Mogura Port, causing the entrance to be exposed. So, they gave up on the idea. Besides, Wano Country’s factories mainly relied on human power and didn’t require electricity.
But as the equipment within Onigashima became more advanced, the demand for electricity gradually increased. Rotom could meet its own electrical needs while inhibiting electrical appliances, but not all appliances were inhabited by Rotom.
So, not long after Sky Island was brought back, Onigashima’s power supply entered the Pokémon era.
Depending on the region, different Pokémon were chosen for power supply. So, one Electivire lived on Sky Island and below Onigashima respectively.
As an evolved form of Electabuzz, Electivire is larger in size with thicker arms and has a distinctive pattern on its back that gives the impression of a dual electrical outlet.
Unlike the Electabuzz that has to steal electricity from power plants, the evolved Electivire doesn’t have to do so and could even generate electricity for other electrical appliances.
However, their voltage was uncontrolled, so they all charge a giant battery.
Though there was only one, Electivire’s power supply capacity was terrifying. A single Electivire could provide all the electricity needed for the buildings of a large city for a year.
Electivire’s electricity generation is proportional to its heart rate; when its heartbeat increases, its electricity generation also increases. Its electricity generation capacity is among the highest among Electric-type Pokémon.
In theory, if there’s one Electivire, there would be no worries about power outages in the summer.
For Electivire, supplying enough power for the consumption in Onigashima was a piece of cake. However, it must be careful not to get too excited; otherwise, it might cause the battery to explode.
Actually, a single Electivire could meet the power demands of both Onigashima and Sky Island. However, having two of them is for convenience, so they don’t have to send people up and down when the batteries run out, and it’s also for safety.
Whimsicott may be a Pokémon with average battle strength, but Electivire is entirely different.
During battles, its internal voltage rises rapidly. It is accustomed to gripping its tail, which emits electric sparks, and using it to launch electrified attacks against enemies. It can also immobilize opponents by pinning them down with the tips of its two tails and releasing attacks that exceed 20,000 volts.
While this voltage might seem insignificant to some individuals, it is more than enough to pose a threat to the ordinary residents of Ohara. Moreover, there are also the Millennial Dragons and the occasional appearance of Olga.
Normal physical training is no longer effective for her now; real combat is the fastest way for her to progress at this level.
The main power supply is at the Beasts Pirates Pokémon Center, where devices cannot afford to have power outages. Zeraora’s place doesn’t have a power supply, as he’s still training by pedaling an electricity generator.
Electivire’s working hours are flexible. It only takes half an hour to complete its work, and the rest of the time is its reasonable “slacking” time. For example, it spends time picking fruits in the woods. Although they aren’t able to build houses on Sky Island, planting trees is no problem.
As long as they sprinkle seeds and plant seedlings, the trees on Sky Island are more likely to survive.
Although it was getting late, some scholars haven’t stopped working. Despite being engrossed in historical research, they are not constantly studying history.
Some of these scholars came here to help, but their main research focus is ancient creatures. However, there’s a big gap between ancient creatures and Electivire, making these magical creatures even more intriguing to them.
“How does it generate electricity just by swinging its arms? And such a huge electricity output, this is not scientific.”
“Scientific? Could any normal creature grow to look like this? I don’t think any creature could evolve to look like this; it’s probably a result of modification.”
“I don’t think so. Although its structure is quite unusual, each part has its function, and its intelligence is very high. No one could have modified such a creature.”
The two scholars had different opinions, and neither could convince the other. As for Electivire, as far as it was concerned, they were just two scholars with peculiar minds.
Meanwhile, on this day, a troublesome incident occurred in the new Tree of Knowledge library. When Robin returned, she found the entire room filled with cotton floating around, and Professor Clover was already submerged in cotton.
This happened because, before Robin returned, a Whimsicott arrived here drifting with the wind. Due to the unique cyclonic environment outside Wano Country, they wouldn’t fly beyond the country.
However, this small Sky Island was within Wano Country’s cyclone zone, so a Whimsicott, taking advantage of the wind, floated here and slipped through the window.
Playing pranks is in Whimsicott’s nature. Every time they enter a new room, they make their fluffy hair scatter everywhere, leaving behind evidence of their presence.
At first, the scholars couldn’t figure out what was happening; they simply thought that someone’s cotton-filled quilt had torn apart. At a height of two kilometers, the night is quite cold, so they all have warm clothing.
But as the cotton increased, they began to realize the problem and finally discovered the Whimsicott on the roof.
It wore the Beasts Pirates’ identity tag around its neck, indicating its origin. There were no weapons on the Sky Island, so the scholars had to climb the ladder and try to catch it.
But as far as Whimsicott was concerned, the scholars were just playing with it. It was not afraid and gleefully jumped around.
With its agile movements, the scholars couldn’t catch it at all, and during this process, cotton continued to float around, resulting in this chaotic situation.
A group of scholars was submerged in a sea of cotton, and Whimsicott was laughing heartily on top of a bookshelf. However, just then, two hands suddenly appeared from its side and firmly grabbed hold of it.
