APJ Chapter 251 Wrong path and Evolution

“Emboaaar!”

Emboar blocked the Test Subject’s punch and then ignited flames on its fist, smashing it into the test subject’s ribcage. Most battles among giant creatures like them lacked finesse; it was all about brute force and reckless punching.

Their inherent strength compensated for the lack of finesse. Only when both sides had roughly equal strength and speed could skills be more effective.

Emboar’s stats were slightly superior to those of the Test Subject, so the beach battle was simply one-sided beating.

“Emboar, that’s enough! Finish him off with Fire Punch!”

Upon hearing Queen’s order, Emboar’s fists blazed with fire again. Unlike Kaido, Test Subject had no resistance to it. The fist surrounded by the flames left a charred mark on the test subject’s chest, and even the goatee on its chin was burned clean.

In pain, the test subject let out a miserable roar and kept retreating until it finally collapsed on the beach. Emboar then leaped high into the air, and with its elbow aimed at the test subject’s abdomen, it struck down.

A small earthquake seemed to occur on the beach as a large pit formed under the test subject’s body. Even the seawater under the sand began to seep out. In a different world, the subject’s eyes would probably turn into spiral eyes.

Clearly, it had lost all ability to fight.

“Come back, Emboar!”

Following Queen’s order, Emboar returned and sat down cross-legged behind them.

“Muhahaha, your research product is really trash. It’s not even a match for my family’s pig. You want to trade with something like this?”

CP0 agents regarded the Beasts Pirates as a group of cavemen, thinking that they could easily take precious minerals from them by simply offering a flint in exchange. However, when they arrived, they were surprised to find that the Beasts Pirates pulled out a lighter, a windproof one at that.

The quality difference was quite evident, and this deal was likely a failure. A behemoth capable of using fire and with intelligence was far superior to the brainless giants they brought.

“Too bad, this piece of junk of yours seems useless. Can it plow fields? It looks like it can’t. Come back when you have something valuable. Queen, let’s go.”

Saying that, Kaido transformed into an azure dragon, created a flame cloud, and left with Emboar, with Queen following closely behind. Before leaving, Queen didn’t forget to mock the people of World Government for their lack of foresight, especially for actually favoring that useless Caesar.

Though Queen spoke rudely to them, the CP0 agents didn’t show any temper. They were well aware of their own strength, and a pirate of Kaido’s caliber was beyond their capability to deal with.

They are under a lot more pressure to complete their mission than Kaido. After all, if Kaido gets angry, there is nothing they can do about it and they may not even be able to escape.

“Captain, that thing… Lineage Factor?”

As a team that comes into contact with laboratories everyday, the term “Lineage Factor” was not unfamiliar to them.

And this term was not a secret either; the ongoing Pacifista project has something to do with the Lineage Factor.

Just now, Emboar and the test subject even fought in the seawater. The waist-deep seawater greatly affected Emboar, but it also ruled out the possibility of it being a Awakened Zoan in disguise.

As a humanoid boar capable of using flames, the only conclusion they could draw was that Queen had made a breakthrough in Lineage Factor and had already put it into practice.

“Perhaps so. Those people were truly blind to let someone like him go.”

“Now what?”

“Let’s go back. Let the higher-ups deal with the rest. At least this incident proves that Kaido is willing to negotiate. Whether they can meet his demands is not for us to decide.”

Having failed the deal, the CP0 team returned empty-handed, while the half-dead Test Subject was carried back in a crate. Emboar even helped them save a considerable amount of anesthetic.

Though it was a failed product, it couldn’t simply be discarded. The most likely option was to transport it back to Punk Hazard and freeze it again.

Punk Hazard received the report sent by CP0, and Caesar’s expression twisted.

“Impossible, absolutely impossible! How could that dumb pig achieve success in both Lineage Factor and Gigantification!”

Caesar couldn’t believe that Queen could do something he couldn’t. But the report brought back by CP0 showed otherwise, forcing him to accept this cruel reality.

In fact, it wasn’t just Caesar who thought this way. Just like how Scotch’s changes prompted the Marines to advance their research on the Pacifistas, Emboar’s appearance proved the feasibility of their experiments.

The failure of the Ancient Giants’ revival experiment was not because the plan itself was flawed; they just took the wrong path. Guided by this revelation, the sealed project was restarted and led them astray in their thinking.

Purebred Giants won’t do, and neither will Oars-like devils. The appearance of Emboar indicates that animals are more easily to fuse with the Lineage Factor. Humanoid Beast is the correct path.

Guided by this line of thinking, they strayed further from the right path.

Meanwhile, the Seastone deal was not abandoned. They believed that Kaido’s willingness to negotiate was a significant breakthrough and began to discuss whether they should obtain that plate from the Celestial Dragon to use as a trade item.

Kaido and Queen haven’t yet returned to Onigashima with Emboar. The location of the trade was in the Calm Belt, and it will take quite some time for them to return to Onigashima.

Meanwhile, something happened on Onigashima. Yamato and her companions witnessed Pokémon evolution for the first time.

For Yamato, Kaido’s departure meant it was vacation time. Although there were many places on Onigashima which were restricted to them, they were free to access places without restrictions.

The houses on Onigashima had multiple floors, so when running on the stairs, Yamato accidentally missed a step and tumbled down. Despite being a child, her body had undergone a lot of training, so it wasn’t a big deal for her.

So, even at the moment of falling, her first reaction was to hold Milcery in her arms. During this process, Milcery also rolled around quite a bit, and in Yamato’s arms were some chocolates.

When the rolling Milcery came into contact with the sweet, its evolution condition was triggered.

As Nico Robin used the Flower-Flower Fruit to create an arm that stopped Yamato and made her halt, a bright white light appeared in Yamato’s arms.

The originally pure white Milcery began to grow, transforming from an ordinary little ball into a doll-like figure wearing a princess dress, but with a change in color. It had turned a light brown due to the chocolate.
