APJ Chapter 196 The embarrassment of going the wrong way

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Genesis ship has just reached the White-White Sea, and upon arrival, Arceus sensed a familiar aura and guided the Genesis ship towards it.

As for why Jack was in the clouds, it was because he had wanted to see if he could swim in the Sea Clouds.

After arriving at the White-White Sea, apart from Riko experiencing some altitude sickness, the other pirates were mostly unaffected. With their physique, they were able to adapt to the situation.

Large fishes also live in the Sea Clouds, but those fishes have already been scared away by the aura emitted by Arceus, turning this area of the Sea Clouds into a swimming pool as Yamato also wants to swim and requires an open space.

After ensuring that the surroundings were safe, Mandrell didn’t go down with them. After all, Jack is a fishman, and it would be quite embarrassing if he drowned in the sea. So, he just advised them not to swim too far downstream and to be careful not to accidentally fall from Sea Clouds.

Because he is a fishman, Jack swam further away and accidentally got caught in someone else’s fishing net. The fishing net was woven from String Clouds, exhibiting exceptional durability. This is how Young Jack found himself trapped in the net.

However, it was ultimately just a misunderstanding. Not all Shandians are so hostile. They did not display any aggressive behavior. Sky Island has never seen such a large ship; so these must be visitors from the Blue Sea.

Some time ago, they encountered a pirate ship that emerged from below, but that ship was much smaller than the Genesis ship.

After they released Jack from the fishing net, they took a few steps back to indicate that they meant no harm. Then they activated the Breath Dial and left. It seems they didn’t want to engage in too much interaction with outsiders.

“Dad, are those the people who live here?”

“Yes, they are the people who were brought up with the Knock Up Stream, but their ancestors were different.”

“Mandrell, turn left fifteen degrees and sail at full speed.”

“Zeraora, lift Jack up. He’s probably had enough fun.”

As the Genesis ship passed by Jack, they lifted him up, but the two Shandians noticed something was amiss. The direction they were heading was towards the gathering site of their tribe.

“Let’s go! Hurry back to the tribe!”

Sky Island not only has Sea Clouds but also Island Clouds. Ships cannot sail on Island Clouds, but their self-made jet devices allow them to slide on the Island Clouds.

The Island Clouds have properties similar to land and can support plant growth. However, there are no seeds within the Island Clouds, so the seeds for the plants here come from ships from the Blue Sea and from the remnants of Jaya Island that were carried up.

“Chief! Chief! A ship from the Blue Sea has arrived, and they are heading towards us!”

Deep within the Island Clouds, pointed tents were arranged in an orderly manner. In the midst of these tents, there were several totem poles, many of which were already ablaze, serving as sources of illumination.

Although this place was once part of Jaya Island, for nearly four centuries, it has been cut off from the outside world. Shandians spend their days contemplating how to reclaim their homeland. It has been a war that has lasted for hundreds of years, and both the Skypieans and Shandians have suffered tremendous casualties.

In recent years, the management of Sky Island has fallen to Gan Fall.

His policy of peaceful coexistence has eased their conflicts to some extent, but it hasn’t fundamentally resolved the issue. Centuries-old blood feuds are not so easily resolved.

A slightly elderly person wearing a headdress made of animal skins emerged upon hearing the commotion.

“Kodol, Shatira, there’s no need to be so panicked. What has happened?”

“Chief, a ship from the Blue Sea has come up, a very large ship. We were fishing, and then…”

They briefly explained what happened and waited for the chief’s instructions.

“All adult warriors, prepare yourselves. Kodol, the two of you take some people and go to the seaside to see where those people are heading.”

But Shandians underestimated the speed of the Genesis ship. It had already docked next to the Island Cloud not long ago.

After leaving some people to guard the ship, the rest disembarked. The night of Skypiea’s jungle was filled with mystery, but no one from Beasts Pirates felt afraid.

Yamato was even running ahead. While it seemed illogical, Arceus did not believe that any creature could harm her under his watchful gaze.

“Dad, is what we’re looking for here?”

“It’s just up ahead, not far from here.”

“Is it some kind of treasure?”

“For others, it may have no value, but it’s a treasure that belongs to me alone. I lost them many years ago.”

“So, is that why father is often not at home, helping you find these things?”

“That’s right, I suppose.”

He wanted to say yes, but considering Kaido’s character, he might get involved with something halfway through on his journey. By tracing back the timeline, Yamato was born around that time, so Arceus wasn’t entirely certain.

In fact, he could already summon the plate directly at this distance. As long as it wasn’t obstructed like the Dread Plate in the belly of the Sea King before, he could guide the plate to return directly.

But he wanted to see the place where the Lunarians hid his plate back then, so he followed his senses and moved forward.

“If those things are found, will Dad, Father, and Sister Shayna be much relieved?”

“More or less, but it will still take quite a while.”

“I understand. I will help Dad find them!”

“You’re still too young, Yamato, but you have already been a great help.”

“Really? Why didn’t I know?”

Yamato wasn’t fully aware of how much her luck had aided him. At this time, as she wasn’t paying attention, she tripped over a tree root beneath her feet. Fortunately, the soft island cloud prevented her from getting injured.

However, Chansey behind her looked a bit distressed. But Yamato was used to tripping and bruises, so she rolled over and got up on her own. She also noticed a new path in front of her, and the hidden village of the Shandians appeared before them.

It’s true that Kodol had gone with some people to investigate the situation earlier, but the problem was that Sky Island is circular in shape, unlike Wano Country which has only a few entrance paths, so they completely missed each other.

Seeing the unfamiliar people at the outskirts of the village, the prepared warriors raised their weapons, including the elderly and the weak. In this tribe, the principle of “every citizen is a soldier” was the sole option.

The members of the Beasts Pirates never feared battle. Upon witnessing this, they stepped forward and wielded their weapons, confronting the opposing side. With a single command, they would eagerly engage in combat without hesitation.

“Outsiders, what are you here for?”

The chief didn’t know the strength of the other party but was prepared for battle.

“Don’t be nervous. I’m only here to retrieve my stuff, it’s right here.”
