PC Chapter 495 Securing a Room

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

“Battle Hotel is one of the top three ranked hotels in the Fight Area, offering top-tier experiences in dining, accommodation, as well as leisure and entertainment.”

Reading the information in the guidebook, Terrance spoke up, “However, securing a room isn’t that easy…”

“A single person can issue at most two challenges per day, and each challenge requires a certain service fee.”

“Winning a battle grants the right to stay, and for 24 hours after the battle, the winner can refuse any further challenges. However, if the battle is lost, the service fee is non-refundable.”

“Then we just need to send two people who are the most confident in their strength to take on the challenge, right?” Lirica pondered aloud.

Kota, Ittetsu, and Kaido also turned to look at Terrance, waiting for his opinion, as he was currently leading the group.

Terrance hesitated slightly and asked, “Who among you is the most confident in their strength?”

The four of them exchanged glances; in this situation, none of them wanted to admit inferiority to the others.

“I have that Gallade with me,” Kota said. That Gallade wasn’t his Pokémon. Though it was slightly weaker than Terrance’s Gallade, compared to these rookies who had been Trainers for less than two years, his Gallade that had been trained for several years was already considered quite powerful.

“My Infernape is also strong,” Kaido thought for a moment, unwilling to entrust this matter entirely to others.

“I can battle too.”

“Me too.”

Ittetsu and Lirica refused to fall behind.

“I understand that all of you want to contribute…” Terrance furrowed his brow and pointed at a line in the guidebook. “But the service fee isn’t cheap. Are you all ready for that?”

“Also, from the moment you step into the Fight Area, every battle you participate in counts toward the 100-battle limit. If you lose, it will be recorded in your win-rate statistics.”

“No problem!” The four responded in unison.

Seeing their confident expressions, Terrance was momentarily stunned before chuckling. Ah, youth.

“Alright then, let’s head to the Battle Hotel now,” Terrance glanced at the map, locking onto a direction before addressing the others.

“Yes, Senior Terrance!”

The Battle Hotel was located in the eastern part of the Fight Area. Its design featured a dominant white color scheme adorned with intricate patterns, exuding a strong battle-oriented atmosphere. Decorations from various Pokémon regions were displayed throughout, and with its grand and luxurious lobby, the hotel radiated opulence from the inside out.

Upon arriving at the Battle Hotel, the five of them immediately proceeded with the payment procedures and selected their respective opponents.

Soon, five staff members emerged from the Battle Hotel, each leading one of them to a battle arena to prepare for their matches.

“I’ll go first. You all do your best,” Terrance said.

The four nodded one after another, exchanging words of encouragement with each other.

The staff member leading Terrance was a woman around twenty years old. After Terrance paid the service fee, she spoke in a professional tone, “Respected guest, your battle will take place at Battle Arena No. 14, scheduled for 30 minutes from now. You are required to enter the arena 10 minutes in advance. Would you like to head there now?”

“Let’s go now,” Terrance decided after a brief thought.

“Understood. Please follow me,” the female staff member nodded.

Upon arriving at the battle arena, Terrance waited patiently.

Meanwhile, the staff member explained the battle rules to him.

“All battles are strictly one-on-one, so if you want to ensure victory, it’s best to send out your most reliable Pokémon.”

“Got it. Thanks for the reminder,” Terrance nodded.

The Battle Hotel did not primarily rely on service fees for profit. After looking into it, Terrance learned that the fee served more like a stepping stone. Once you stay at the hotel, you’ll find that it offers a wide range of comprehensive facilities. While the accommodation is free for guests, additional expenses such as food, beverages, and leisure activities are charged separately.

“This hotel’s standard seems quite high. In a place like the Fight Area, I imagine it has attracted a lot of outstanding Trainers. Anyone staying here… probably isn’t weak,” Terrance thought to himself, slightly concerned about whether the four students could secure a victory.

“To avoid any slip-ups, I should go all out as well. As the supervisor, it would be embarrassing if I lost my battle,” Terrance nodded to himself.

Time passed quickly. At the staff member’s reminder, Terrance noticed that the owner of the room he had challenged was slowly approaching.

“Hello, Mr. Konda, this is the challenger, Mr. Terrance. You will now engage in a one-on-one standard battle. The winner will have the right to stay at the hotel for the next 24 hours. Do either of you have any questions?”

Konda, a man in his thirties, smiled slightly when he saw Terrance. “Hello.”

Then, he turned to the staff member and replied, “No problem. I can start the battle anytime.”

Five minutes later.

Boom!!

On the battlefield, Terrance bit his lip as he watched the Persian get struck and sent flying by Gallade. The outcome was decided.

“So strong…”

The staff member covered her mouth in surprise, staring at Terrance in shock.

The battle had ended cleanly and decisively. From start to finish, Gallade completely controlled the pace, and Konda’s Persian never even had the chance to land an attack.

“I’ve run into a powerful Trainer…” The middle-aged man, Konda, gave a bitter smile.

Although Terrance was still young, the Trainer profession had clear bottlenecks. For those truly gifted, age was not an insurmountable gap.

“This uncle isn’t bad himself. He was probably an outstanding Trainer in his younger days, but it seems he has already retired from the Trainer profession.” During the battle, Terrance could tell that the man had a solid foundation, but he must have not battled in a long time. At this point, he was likely no longer active in the frontline of Trainers and had probably shifted to another industry.

Whether in Kanto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh, Trainers were the mainstream, but it was never a profession that could feed everyone.

The operation of the entire society required countless workers in basic industries as well as high-level professionals in various fields. However, there was no denying that most industries were closely tied to Pokémon, and businesses that effectively leveraged Pokémon’s power were always at the forefront of the supply chain.

As for Gym Leader Terrance, he was clearly among the elite of traditional Trainers.

“Your Gallade is well-trained. This room is yours now.” Konda took out a room card and a set of keys, handing them to Terrance. With the staff member as a witness, Terrance had successfully won himself a room.

“Thanks.” Terrance took the keys with a slight smile.

At the same time, the battles of the other four students had also concluded. After securing his room key, Terrance headed to the agreed meeting spot. However, upon arrival, he saw the four of them looking dejected, and an uneasy feeling crept into his heart.

“You four… don’t tell me you all lost?”

“Uh…” The four of them were ashamed.
