PC Chapter 439 Mega Evolution!

The rookie Trainer named Tana lost her first battle just like that. Her two companions quickly went up to comfort her, saying that she had done well. Terrance felt that staying here any longer might not be appropriate, so he hurriedly found an excuse to leave.

However, he had not gone far when his communicator suddenly received a message.

“Huh? It’s Ayan. Could it be that something happened at the Gym?” Terrance wondered as he opened the message and carefully read through it. Before long, his expression changed drastically.

That sudden shift in his aura made even the Ice Vulpix on his shoulder shudder. It had no idea why Terrance’s expression had suddenly turned so serious.

“Mega Evolution?”

“Altaria… evolutionary stone?”

Terrance’s pupils contracted. Mega Evolution was one of the few fragmented memory left to him from the TV anime in his past life. He had looked into it further, but it was merely a legend circulating in the Kalos region. At the very least, he had not yet seen any Trainer using Mega Evolution at this point in time.

As for the conditions required for Mega Evolution, Terrance had a slight understanding, but not in great detail.

“Little Vulpix, can you return to the Poké Ball for now?” Terrance spoke to Vulpix. After recalling it into the Poké Ball, he immediately headed up the mountain to meet with Master Victor.

He planned to ask Master Victor about it.

At this moment, Master Victor was still here, doing his own research. When he saw Terrance rushing over, he asked in surprise, “Terrance, what’s wrong? Where’s Vulpix?”

“Master Victor… Hah…” Terrance took a deep breath and said, “Let’s not talk about that for now. Do you know about Mega Evolution?”

Mega Evolution!

Master Victor’s expression instantly turned serious. “What’s the matter? I do know about it.”

“Mega Evolution… it’s real, isn’t it?!” Terrance asked.

“Mega Evolution…” Master Victor pondered for a moment before saying, “A long time ago, a Trainer once traveled to the Kalos region with a Lucario and discovered two mysterious stones, leading to the first recorded case of Mega Evolution. The key to Mega Evolution lies in the resonance between the Key Stone carried by the Trainer and the Mega Stone held by the Pokémon. It is said that only when the bond between a Trainer and their Pokémon is deep enough can the hidden power of the two stones be unleashed. When the Trainer and Pokémon’s hearts are in sync, and the two stones resonate, the Pokémon undergoes Mega Evolution.”

“The information about Mega Evolution you obtained—it’s from the legend recorded in this biography, isn’t it?” Master Victor asked.

“Mm.” Terrance nodded.

This was the only known legend about Mega Evolution circulating in the public, and it was extremely well-hidden. If he hadn’t deliberately searched for it, he wouldn’t have known about it at all.

“This legend is true. There are already Trainers who possess the ability to use Mega Evolution,” Master Victor said. “I myself own a Key Stone and a Mega Stone.”

“Master Victor… you…” Terrance was shocked. Master Victor possessed both the stones for Mega Evolution?

“The information about Mega Evolution is no longer a secret among certain factions. However, the League is yet to allow this form of evolution in regular battles and has even deliberately hidden this information,” Master Victor said.

“Hiding this information…” Terrance pondered.

“There are two reasons,” Master Victor did not hold back. “The first is the rarity of the Key Stone and the Mega Stone. At present, there is no effective way to find these two stones. As you can imagine, if Mega Evolution were to become known, it would drive all Trainers into a frenzy. The value of these two stones would surpass that of any other rare treasure on the market.”

“The second reason is the impact of Mega Evolution. I collected Mega Stones to study Pokémon genetics through Mega Evolution. Mega Evolution, is it the boundary for Pokémon to evolve to a higher level of life, or is it a higher level of evolution? Or does it stimulate the hidden power in the Pokémon’s bloodline, allowing them to manifest their ancient forms?” Master Victor sighed.

“But one common factor is that Mega Evolution requires a deep bond between the Pokémon and its Trainer. Otherwise, a Pokémon that undergoes Mega Evolution may be unable to control its power and go berserk. This is not an exaggeration. In the early days of Mega Evolution research, there were researchers who were injured by their own Pokémon due to Mega Evolution!”

“Hiding this information is, in some ways, a measure to protect Trainers. If they lack the ability to control Mega Evolution, this power could lead to serious consequences. Until Mega Evolution is thoroughly understood, no one dares to let such a formidable force be freely accessible to the public,” Master Victor said with a shake of his head.

“So, why are you asking about Mega Evolution?”

Because he regarded Terrance as his disciple, Master Victor casually shared these secrets that ordinary Trainers had no access to.

Having personally come into contact with Mega Evolution, he did not consider it a dangerous power.

On the contrary, Master Victor believed that this power would inevitably enter the public eye sooner or later—it was just a matter of time.

“I just received news about an Altarianite… and it seems there is also a Key Stone,” Terrance took a deep breath and revealed this shocking information.

Master Victor was instantly taken aback. Even with his status, obtaining these two items had required tremendous effort. Given that there was no reliable method to locate Mega Stones, the Key Stone and Mega Stone were no different from legendary items.

But with Terrance’s current status, how had he come into contact with such hidden information?

“Two strange people came to Fallarbor Gym. It looks like they have Altaria’s Mega Stone,” Terrance also found it unbelievable. He continued, “They know that I own an Altaria. Maybe that’s why they sought me out, but I still don’t know their intentions.”

“Go back immediately!” Master Victor said decisively.

“Return to Hoenn at once. If this information is true, do whatever it takes to obtain the Key Stone and Mega Stone. No matter what conditions they set, try to agree. If you face any difficulties, I will help you—no, I will go to Hoenn with you! These two stones cannot be missed!”

Only at Master Victor’s level could one truly grasp how valuable Key Stone and Mega Stone are. He could even say with certainty that in the future, any Trainer who could not control Mega Evolution would never reach the pinnacle of the Trainers!

Key Stone and Mega Stone are already incredibly rare, but the corresponding evolutionary stones are even rarer.

To Master Victor, the most difficult aspect of Mega Evolution was not just obtaining the Pokémon’s corresponding Mega Stone, but also forming a deep enough bond with the Pokémon itself.

Now that such an opportunity had presented itself to Terrance, there was no way Master Victor would let him miss it. Even if he had to spend an astronomical amount of money to buy the Mega Stone, in Master Victor’s eyes, it would be absolutely worth it.
