PC Chapter 146 Sending Kirlia back

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Saffron City, Pokémon Center

After Ralts successfully evolved into Kirlia, Terrance returned here and first contacted Sabrina’s father, Mr. Sam.

Upon learning about Terrance’s experience at the Saffron Gym, Mr. Sam sighed without expressing much opinion.

As for Kirlia, Mr. Sam was also curious, and just like Terrance thought, he suggested that if it doesn’t work out in the end, seeking Sabrina’s help could be an option.

“That child Sabrina… is too reclusive. What she lacks is a playmate of the same age, I really hope she can go back to being as cute as she was when she was little.” Mr. Sam looked at Kirlia, sighing repeatedly. As a father, being completely surpassed by his daughter left him feeling indescribably conflicted.

At this moment, Terrance could only express his gratitude and consolation. Outstanding Trainers like Sabrina and Cynthia, who were almost of the same age, were highly valued and admired by Terrance.

Even without the matter of Kirlia, he planned to revisit Sabrina once his strength truly improved, and his team became more complete. He wants to challenge outstanding Trainers of his age.

Although Terrance’s experiences over the past two years had been quite smooth, compared to the new generation Trainers who started getting in touch with Pokémon, and people of Gym and Professor backgrounds at a younger age, Terrance was not yet considered top-notch, and his foundation was not deep enough.

After talking with Mr. Sam, he also contacted Professor Oak. It was through Professor Oak that he was able to use Mr. Sam’s connections and learn about the possibility that psychic power could help Ralts.

Then, the series of events unfolded smoothly and Professor Oak played a key role in it.

Not to mention the successful evolution of Ralts, and considering his relationship with Master Victor, Professor Oak should be thanked anyway.

Moreover, he had also promised to keep Professor Oak informed about Ralts’ subsequent developments. Psychic power could help Psychic-Type Pokémon evolve, this is a domain of research not easily accessible, even for a renowned Pokémon Professor.

So, in a sense, Terrance’s experiences broadened the perspectives of people like Professor Oak and Master Victor, providing them with new knowledge.

At a certain level, knowledge becomes more important than money.

Next, Terrance needed to discuss with Master Victor about Kirlia’s current situation. It was no longer suitable for it to stay by Terrance’s side.

For a newly evolved Kirlia, a thorough examination of every aspect of its body and professional care were necessary. Breeders like Terrance couldn’t handle such work, and even top-notch Breeders were not omnipotent. Human expertise supplemented by high technology was needed to handle certain matters better and more rigorously.

Terrance stayed in Saffron City for about a day.

After contacting Master Victor, Terrance, through the teleportation device at Saffron City Pokémon Center, established a temporary teleportation point with Crown Academy.

Terrance explained to Kirlia the reason for sending it back. Whether it was to observe the new form, or to access better resources, it was very important for Kirlia’s current condition and its illness.

Terrance felt that, despite Kirlia’s unfortunate situation, it has found fortune in its misfortune because if it belonged to an ordinary Trainer or was a wild Pokémon, the chances of receiving care and attention from so many professionals, no matter how strange the illness, would be very low.

Born in Crown Academy, Kirlia had superior conditions compared to most Pokémon from the very beginning.

Now, returning to Crown Academy, its home, was the best for Kirlia. Moreover, Terrance also received news from Master Victor that the academy would prepare a “Dawn Stone” for Kirlia and assist in its evolution as much as possible.

“Kirliiia…”

Terrance patted Kirlia, who was reluctant to part from him and smiled. Although he wanted to accompany Kirlia back to the academy, he had other matters to attend to.

After resolving Kirlia’s situation in Kanto, he needed to prepare for his own affairs.

For the time being, he wouldn’t return to Crown Academy in Sinnoh. After all, this time he went out for Kirlia, and there’s no set return time for students in such cases.

If Terrance wanted to stay outside, considering his current reputation and relationship with teachers in the academy and Master Victor, the rules shouldn’t be too strict.

After sending off Kirlia, Terrance wouldn’t be able to obtain any news about it for the time being. To address this, he contacted his fellow student Akon and asked him to regularly send him data on Kirlia.

With Akon’s clear description of Kirlia’s situation, even if Terrance wasn’t by Kirlia’s side, he could still be well-informed about its current condition.

“Cooperate well with everyone and strive to evolve soon.”

“Don’t worry; every evolution is the sublimation of life. Life….is the greatest miracle, even if you don’t know any other moves right now, who knows what it would be like after evolution?”

“And even if you still can’t learn any moves…Ugh, look at me being pessimistic. Regardless of the outcome, don’t forget what I told you—take good care of the blades on your hands after evolution as they will be your best weapons.”

Before parting ways, Kirlia and Terrance talked through the night. If everything went as expected, this separation might mean they wouldn’t see each other for a very long time.

Terrance didn’t know if his plans would go smoothly, and even if they did, it would take a considerable amount of time.

This time, Terrance had carefully planned his itinerary, taking into account the timing of the Intermediate Breeder exam and the Grand Festival in the Hoenn region.

Terrance couldn’t afford to miss the timing of these two significant events that were important to him.

So, he had to return to Hoenn. His visit to Kanto and obtaining the Trainer status, was an unexpected joy for Terrance, making his upcoming journey more convenient.

“Let’s make a promise, okay? If you can successfully evolve, within a year, I’ll return to the academy and let you have a battle with Altaria.” Terrance smiled. Swablu, who trained together with Ralts back then, had grown up, which served as motivation for Kirlia. The two training partners were surely looking forward to an epic battle.

“And… even if you can’t evolve, don’t be discouraged. I’ll come pick you up. We’ll return and seek Sabrina’s help again, and if she doesn’t help, we’ll search every corner of the mainland, find those with psychic powers, and ask them to assist us.”

When Kirlia was about to be teleported, the two made a pact. Terrance gazed straight at Kirlia as it disappeared, and took a deep breath.
