Like Ross said, it’s not the fruit that is OP, it’s the user that uses it. In someone else’s hands it might not be as powerful. Luffy is a great example of this, his fruit is not great at all really, but he has a great imagination that compliments his fruit. Making him fairly powerful.
what would the ultimate expression of luffy’s fruit be then, or Dalmation’s. cause i can’t think of any way to improve on any zoroan fruits in ways that can make them as OP as gravity, space, and time distortion.
Well because zoan dfs are power boosts…. So there is still the part where its all about the user. Take for example if someone normal human would eat the fruit, just from transforming into that half animal form would give him massive power boost and no normal human could take him on. And now imagine someone already strong who can punch so hard that explosion happen, what would happen to him?? He would be fricking monster.
And this distortion devil fruit is such a bs…. Every fruit that has some emitting powers are weak to armament haki… So that whole: “Even haki cant stop my distorted fist.” is a bulls**t from author of this fanfic.
i more meant that this novel is treating devil fruit awakening like a videogame skill leveling mechanic with every point strengthening and evolving the ability. i am wondering what possible evolutions could zoan devil fruits like Dalmatians even go through? does he just become a bigger dalmation with a bigger power boost? or would there be more to it because if not, that is super god damn lame. or worse yet, a fruit like luffy’s turns him into a rubber human, what does his power’s evolution look like? being even more elastic? turning the ground around him into rubber like what happened with doflamingo’s evolution?
the author is treating it as if all devil fruits work like the mc’s distortion fruit, but they don’t know how to do any cool stuff because they need to actively practice to get their powers to do all that stuff, but some of t hese abilities are unbelievably basic that i can not even fathom what level up skill tree would look like for them. even luffy’s gears don’t really seem to be an evolution of his power as much as it is just luffy taking advantage of his abnormal physique as it is already laid out for him. i was asking about what the auhor might have done if he had his MC somehow get the rubber fruit with this same system.
