Totto Land.
Thirty-four islands scattered around Cake Island, each governed by one of the 34 “ministers,” form a tight circle around the Cake Island where BIG·MOM resides, under the rule of Yonko Charlotte Linlin.
Each Yonko has their own unique preferences or dreams, one might say.
Kaido desires the “grandest war in history,” hence he made a deal with Doflamingo, creating the “Gifter” legion with artificial Devil Fruits. He then allied with Wano Country and the Black Snake General to prepare wholeheartedly for the impending war.
“Whitebeard” Edward Newgate had no interest in becoming the Pirate King. His greatest dream was to have a “family.” As most of his crew were people rejected by society, the fact that “Whitebeard” regarded his crew as sons and family earned him the admiration and gratitude of all. They affectionately called him “Old Man or Pops.”
“In this world, there are three things that cannot be stopped: people’s pursuit of freedom and dreams, the ever-advancing wheel of history, and the will that is passed down.”
Shanks remembered these words left behind by Roger, and he put his trust in the New Age, waiting for Monkey D. Luffy, who inherited Roger’s will, to turn the world upside down.
Charlotte Linlin’s dream was to create a utopia where all races in the world could live happily, making everyone joyful. This was the dream that Sister Carmel had once shared with her, and after Carmel and her companions disappeared, Charlotte Linlin inherited this will.
So, although Totto Land may seem like a sea ruled by pirates on the surface, BIG·MOM regards herself as the queen and has transformed it into a country.
At this moment, in the heart of Totto Land, lies Cake Island.
Inside a room entirely decorated with candies and biscuits, Charlotte Katakuri, the Head of the Four Sweet Commanders and the Minister of Flour of the “BIG·MOM Pirate Crew,” wore a gloomy expression.
“When did this start?”
Katakuri’s voice was icy as he asked in a low voice.
In his palm, a Vivre Card the size of a palm was burning rapidly. The crimson sparks and charred edges symbolized the withering of life, and strands of ash gradually floated in the air.
This was his younger brother, Charlotte Oven’s Vivre Card!
Perospero, Katakuri, Daifuku, and Oven, the four oldest siblings of the Charlotte Family, had a good relationship since childhood.
Katakuri, in particular, willingly played the role of a gentle older brother for his younger brothers and sisters. If anyone dared to harm them, he would rise up in a fit of rage and kill!
“It’s been over half an hour, Katakuri Nii San…”
Upon hearing this, Charlotte Moscato, the Minister of Gelato among the 34 ministers, answered with sweat streaming down his face.
“Ni San, Mom doesn’t know about this yet. I intercepted the messenger.”
“Well done, Moscato.”
Katakuri managed to force a faint smile on his face and praised Moscato.
“Mom’s Eating Disorder has only occurred once before. We mustn’t agitate her now.”
Charlotte Linlin’s Eating Disorder was extremely terrifying. Once it flared up, she would descend into madness, wreaking havoc and destruction everywhere. Furthermore, she would not recognize any of her loved ones and even kill her own children.
No matter who spoke to her, she wouldn’t listen. The only way to restore her sanity was to feed her the specific delicacy she desired.
Her last episode occurred just a day ago. For safety reasons, Moscato had been guarding the outskirts of the City Castle, which gave him the opportunity to intercept the messenger.
Pausing for a moment, Katakuri looked at the Vivre Card in his hand, which was almost completely burnt out. His face turned colder as he asked,
“Where did Oven say he was going in the end?”
“He went to Poly Island… They were supposed to deliver this year’s tribute a month ago, but they failed to do so. That’s why Oven Ni Sama took his subordinates to teach them a lesson.”
Moscato quickly answered, then couldn’t help but ask, “Older Brother Katakuri, what about Oven Ni Sama…?”
“He’s fine for now. He was probably captured after being defeated.”
Although the Vivre Card in his hand was reduced to a small portion, fortunately, the burning speed had stopped. Oven was, after all, one of the outstanding figures among the 34 ministers. While his strength may not be on par with the Sweet Commanders, his vitality was remarkably resilient.
Moscato’s response relieved him. He clenched his fists, volunteering, “If Mom finds out about this, who knows how she’ll punish Oven Ni Sama! Katakuri Ni Sama, let me take the Anger Legion!”
“No need. Even if you went, it wouldn’t make a difference to the one who defeated Oven.”
Katakuri coldly rejected the proposal. Oven, as the eldest brother, ranked among the top ten in terms of strength within the Charlotte Family. While Moscato was no slouch, the gap between him and Oven was significant.
The unknown enemy who managed to gravely injure Oven in just half an hour would make quick work of Moscato too.
Katakuri didn’t want to lose another brother.
Yes, he had already prepared for the worst.
“Summon Perospero, Big Brother, and Mont-d’Or. Poly Island isn’t far. I’ll go quickly and return quickly.”
Upon hearing this, Moscato lifted his head in shock, looking at Katakuri in disbelief.
Finally, he nodded solemnly and bowed.
“Understood!”
…
Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the sea controlled by Whitebeard, there was a peaceful little island.
A middle-aged blind man walked down the street with a cane. He wore a coarse, stained hemp outfit, looking like a beggar.
Seemingly due to hunger pangs, the blind man stood still and swallowed saliva. He heard the cries of vendors nearby and, after a moment of consideration, turned towards a roadside stall.
“Where did this old beggar come from? Hurry up and leave! Don’t disturb my business!”
The boss watched him cautiously as he carefully felt his way to the edge of the table and sat down. He couldn’t help but frown in impatience.
Although the islands protected by Whitebeard were relatively peaceful and harmonious compared to other places in the New World, they weren’t prosperous enough to give alms freely. Not resorting to picking up a rolling pin to drive the man away was already due to the boss taking pity on his old age and the fact that he was blind.
“Please give me a bowl of soy sauce buckwheat noodles…”
Placing a bundle the size of a human head on the table, the blind man said to the shopkeeper with a pleasant expression. Then he reached out to touch the package, adding with trepidation, “Please don’t misunderstand, I have money! How much for a bowl of noodles?”
“400 Belly…”
The boss muttered that it was troublesome, but since there was money, he wasn’t a beggar but a customer. Although he looked a bit dirty, he considered it an act of kindness.
After saying that, the boss turned and shouted towards the kitchen.
“A bowl of soy sauce buckwheat noodles!… Add an egg!”
The old blind man hesitated for a moment, then hurriedly clarified, “Boss, I didn’t ask for an egg.”
“I know, I’m treating you. How about that!”
He glanced at him impatiently, and the chubby boss sat back in his chair, picked up his teacup, and took a sip.
The old blind man: “…”
His face showed a strange expression.
Huā Lā La!
At this moment, it seemed that he made too big a move. During the process of the blind man taking out money, a bunch of odds and ends fell out of the package and scattered all over the floor. Among them was a fist-sized pale purple fruit.
It was a fruit with a spiral pattern like a snail, resembling a pineapple in shape. When it fell to the ground, it made a “thud” sound.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’ll clean up right away.”
The blind man quickly apologized, then bent down and fumbled around, one by one, putting the things back into the cloth bag. The boss didn’t pay it much mind, muttering to himself that it was troublesome, and didn’t bother with it further.
However, he didn’t notice that as the blind man picked up the fruit, several customers in the shop who were eating noodles suddenly stared wide-eyed at him. They looked at the blind man collecting the fruit and then exchanged surprised glances.
