MD-Chapter 68 Failed Infiltration

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

In this world, there are always places that are untouched by sunlight.

If the sun can’t reach these places, the neon lights of the city can’t illuminate them either.

In the darkness, someone was moving, navigating between buildings with quick, precise movements, climbing to the roof with bare hands.

In the moonlight, a black trench coat billowed in the wind, and under the black hat was a dark face… No, it was a mask!

Arthur removed the mask to catch his breath; he really disliked the feeling.

“It’s suffocating.”

He stretched his chest, loosened his limbs, and after a few jumps in place, Arthur took a deep breath, exhaling all the air completely, feeling rejuvenated.

Putting the mask back on, Arthur moved.

Like a black wind, he leaped nimbly between rooftops, feeling almost as if he had the powers of Spider-Man.

Truth be told, Arthur had noticed some interesting changes in his body during this time.

Back when he was active on the battlefield, he had the strength and speed he needed at that time.

However, his coordination and flexibility had been his weaknesses.

But now… he felt incredibly coordinated, and his every movement was fluid.

Things he couldn’t do before were now easy.

“Have I been taking dance lessons during my seventy years of sleep?” Arthur thought as he landed on the roof of Randolph’s club.

When he reached the edge of the roof, he glanced down twice, and when he saw that no one noticed him, he walked lightly to the roof door.

Pulling a wire from his Disassembler space, he crouched by the door and began to fiddle with it.

He had learned this trick in the army…

But he couldn’t tell if his skills were outdated or rusty.

After three minutes of trying, the door still wouldn’t open.

Arthur’s face darkened.

Returning to the edge of the roof, he calculated his next move and sighed softly, “I didn’t want to do this.

He dashed to the door and delivered a powerful kick!

With a loud crash, the metal door was knocked out of its frame!

Arthur dashed forward, halfway down the stairs, grabbed the railing and turned to the next set of stairs.

Facing the doorway, he saw that someone had opened it, clearly having heard the noise and come to investigate.

They locked eyes, and the guard was dazed, doubting that what he saw was a person.

These emergency stairs were unlit.

With Arthur dressed all in black, wearing a black hat and mask, and only his black eyes visible in the darkness, who would believe it was a person without a closer look?

The guard hesitated, but Arthur didn’t.

In a flash, he was in front of the guard, who woke up and hurriedly drew his gun. But in the next second, the gun was snatched from his hand!

Before he could react or scream, his head hit the wall and he was instantly knocked out.

Arthur didn’t waste any time. He had been using the Eye of Horus to study the situation inside for some time.

The entire floor consisted of only one room and one guard.

The room was Randolph’s office, and the guard… well, the guard had already been knocked out.

However, footsteps could be heard from the stairwell, indicating that the guards from the floor below were on their way up.

With no time to waste, Arthur took two steps to the door and then… kicked it open!

“So violent!”

Arthur complained inwardly. His plan for the past few days had been quite meticulous.

Top priority had been to infiltrate silently, reach Randolph’s office without making a sound, and deal with his guard and Randolph himself.

But to his dismay, when it came time to execute the plan, he couldn’t unlock the roof door… He had initially thought that the door wouldn’t be an obstacle.

It was a humiliating failure!

Shaking his head, Arthur entered the office.

The muscular Randolph, dressed in a suit, glared angrily at the door.

After two loud bangs, even an idiot would know someone had broken in.

He held a gun and taunted Arthur, “No matter who you are, you’ve come to the wrong place.”

“Calm down, boy.”

Arthur sighed, “You don’t know how dangerous that toy in your hand is.”

But Randolph had no intention of talking to Arthur. His finger moved to pull the trigger!

Having watched Randolph for some time now, Arthur instantly judged the trajectory of the shot and the timing to dodge. Just as Randolph raised his hand, Arthur lunged forward…

At that moment, a dormant force within Arthur suddenly surged and he felt the space around him twist slightly, accompanied by a subtle feeling of having crossed something!

He didn’t know exactly what he had crossed over, but when he looked up, he found himself facing a wall!

“Fuck!”

Arthur was shocked!

Randolph’s office was quite large, and he had been at least twenty feet from the wall. How could he suddenly be so close?

Without pausing to think, he stepped on the wall and used his momentum to run up it.

With a mid-air somersault, he landed perfectly behind Randolph.

Sensing that something was wrong, Randolph turned around almost at the same time as Arthur. Their eyes met and Randolph raised his gun to shoot… He didn’t care how Arthur had gotten there. In fact, the more Arthur knew, the more dangerous he was.

Eliminating all threats was the only way to ensure his own survival!
The logic was sound, but Arthur didn’t play by the rules.

Just as Randolph raised his hand to shoot, Arthur suddenly grabbed his wrist… and then Randolph disappeared!

“Amazing vanishing trick!”

Arthur, proud of himself, then ran to a corner where there was a safe, reached out, and the safe vanished too!

He had been eyeing that safe for days…

The footsteps were now at the door, but without looking back, Arthur ran to the office window, jumped through it, shattering the glass, and landed at the club entrance.

The two guards at the door stared at each other in shock. Was it raining people now?
