MD-Chapter 67 Not as Handsome as Me!

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

During the day, Arthur did more than rob a few thugs and buy underwear with the Eye of Horus. Now that he had it, he had to use it wisely.

Controlling it required focus, but after a few uses, Arthur realized that it was a skill that could be honed.

Essentially, using the Eye of Horus involved two steps.

The first was activation, which relied on the energy of the colorless crystals within his body.

The second was maintenance, which required sustained concentration. This didn’t mean that Arthur had to be completely absorbed, he just careful not to lose focus on the Eye of Horus.

In simpler terms, it was akin to multitasking.

After leaving during the day, Arthur used the Eye of Horus to spy on those thugs. He interrupted three times due to his inferior mental control.

On the fourth attempt, Arthur found Randolph’s headquarters.

So tonight he planned to do something – not immediately against Randolph, for hasty action was bad for everyone.

He intended to observe first, a habit from his combat days: observe, plan, then execute.

Around 10 p.m., Arthur appeared on a street corner.

Across the street was a club where the thugs had returned. Arthur also spotted the legendary Randolph.

This guy had no potential as a godfather, he was just a middle-aged muscle man, all brawn in a suit.

The stark contrast between his clothes and his demeanor always felt awkward.

Of course, that wasn’t Arthur’s focus.

In the void, he summoned the Eye of Horus, which penetrated the interior of the club…

Amidst the flashing lights and swaying dance floor, the people let go of their vibrant energies.

Arthur glanced around, using the Eye of Horus to assess the internal defenses.

Meanwhile, he circled the perimeter of the club.

Half an hour later, Arthur returned to the front door of the club and tried to enter.

However, two burly men intercepted him and demanded a membership card!

Arthur tried to negotiate, explaining that he hadn’t applied for one yet, but could do so inside.

Their response was harsh, insisting on an internal referral for new members. If Arthur persisted, violence seemed imminent.

Leaving the front entrance, Arthur circled back to the back where a group was loitering, smoking, and drinking, armed with various weapons-even the smallest wielded baseball bats.

Two unarmed men didn’t sit well with Arthur… In Lily’s words, they exuded hostility!

Observing their shirts and waistlines suggested concealed firearms.

The club had three entrances, the last one being on the roof.

Arthur didn’t feel like climbing up there. Having observed enough of the club’s interior, he used the Eye of Horus to reach the roof.

With a wide view, a slight smile played on Arthur’s lips as he thought of something.

Climbing from the second-story window to his bedroom, Arthur threw a hat and mask onto the bed.

This was bought on the way home, which is sure to come in handy later.

After all, when dealing with troublemakers like Randolph, force would be necessary.

It’s important to hide oneself appropriately.

Arthur took a small notebook out of his pocket, sat down at the head of the bed, and began to sketch.

With the help of the Eye of Horus, the overall structure of the club was crystal clear. However, the internal situation was chaotic, with mobile defense forces – about four groups – stationed at the corners of the club.

These individuals usually just sat around drinking and smoking, but in case of trouble, they would rush to the scene at high speed.

The second floor was off-limits.

Burly men with guns guarded the doors; only a few “Advanced” members could enter.

The stories that unfolded here are hard to describe… well, they can be skipped!

As for the third floor, that was Arthur’s target – Randolph’s office!

However, Randolph wasn’t in the club tonight, and understanding his movements required careful consideration…

The door on the club’s roof led directly to Randolph’s office level.

The door was probably locked, but that was no problem for Arthur.

After jotting down the key points in his notebook, the next focus of observation was Randolph.

When would this person show up at the club?

More precisely, on which nights would he appear?

It was easy to find out: grab a small-time thug, rough him up a bit, and he’d spill the beans faster than Arthur could!

But the downside was obvious – it could easily scare off the prey.

Arthur wanted to make a clean, quick kill, bag Randolph, and walk away.

Even if it took some time, he didn’t want to alert his prey too soon.

“Looks like I’m going to need a little more time,” Arthur muttered to himself, a slight smile curling his lips. “Fortunately, time is one thing I have in abundance right now.”

The following days were unexpectedly quiet.

This peace exceeded Lily’s expectations-even the small-time thugs who usually appeared every few days seemed to disappear without a trace.

But it was for the best. Lily also needed peace. In this quiet environment, Lily finished her artwork!

She excitedly showed it to Arthur.

After looking and thinking for a while, Arthur couldn’t help but ask, “Where does this guy look better than me?”

“You shameless!!!” Lily glared at Arthur, then said, “Besides that? Can you see anything else?”

“Um…” Arthur thought for two seconds. “It’s pretty good.”

Lily looked at him with utter despair and sighed, “I shouldn’t have expected you to appreciate aesthetics!”

Then she promptly kicked Arthur out; she had more work to do.

Accordingly, Arthur had his own follow-up work to do.

After so many days of observing, all the necessary preparations were complete. It was also time to pay the rent.
