“————Wūūūūū Wūūūuuu————!”
The deep yet piercing howl echoed incessantly through the pitch-black night, causing the air to vibrate and stir up currents like raging waves, sweeping across the sky.
The Hakugei (White Whale), impaled by a sharp ice pillar, turned its bloodshot eyes full of malice towards the silver-haired half elf girl below, whose entire body shimmered with ice crystals. Its eyes began to fill with bloodlust.
Before the Hakugei (White Whale) could act, another voice resounded across the battlefield.
“Now! Attack!”
It was Crusch’s voice. The knight, regaining her composure under Emilia’s influence, drew her sword and commanded with authority as she saw the Hakugei (White Whale) preparing to ascend.
Wilhelm was the first to respond to this command.
“Pā!”
With a crisp sound, a piece of rubble was crushed under the heavy step of an Earth Dragon.
Riding the Earth Dragon, Wilhelm, his eyes burning with the fire of vengeance, charged forward like the wind. As he approached the Hakugei (White Whale), he leaped off the Earth Dragon’s back, soaring high into the air, surpassing the still-rising demon beast.
“Oooooooohhhhhhhhhh————!”
The Sword Demon’s roar echoed in the sky.
It was a roar filled with rage and madness.
Driven by his thirst for revenge, the one known as the ‘Sword Demon’ leaped towards the Hakugei (White Whale)’s back.
The silver-white sword edge gleamed as it cut through the air.
“Pū Chī————!”
The clear sound of flesh being cut rang out as the sword edge pierced through the skin, tearing into the flesh, and embedding deeply into the body of the “Demon Beast of the Mist,” blood splattering in all directions.
“Wūūūūū————!”
The Hakugei (White Whale)’s pained howl echoed once again.
But this time, before the Hakugei (White Whale) could react, Crusch issued another command.
“Prepare the magic!”
At her command, the mages, clad in robes and scattered across the collapsed ground, struggled to their feet. They spread out around the hovering Hakugei (White Whale), raising their hands high.
“Al-Goa!”
It was the incantation for fire magic, representing the fiery power of the Fire Attribute.
Fire Attribute magic controlled temperature and the aspect of fire was manifested as high-temperature flames.
Thus, the whirlpool of magic power gathered in the mages’ raised hands, causing the temperature in the air to rise and transform into blazing fireballs that shot towards the sky.
Instantly, massive clumps of flame turned into fiery meteors, streaking across the sky and enveloping the colossal white whale one by one, crashing into its body.
“Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom————!”
In a series of explosions, the flaming clumps detonated one after another.
The intense heat transformed into sweeping flames that burned around the Hakugei (White Whale)’s body, triggering violent explosions and causing the beast’s howls to become even more frantic.
“Attack!”
Relentlessly, Crusch pointed her sword towards the Hakugei (White Whale), commanding loudly.
“Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhh————!”
The battle cry of the soldiers rose in unison as they charged forward, their spirits ignited by their leader’s determination.
Under the relentless assault, the Hakugei (White Whale), one of the Sandai Maju (Three Great Demon Beasts), writhed in agony, its colossal form battered by ice, fire, and steel.
The night air was filled with the scent of burning flesh and the roar of conflict, a testament to the fierce determination of those who dared to stand against such a monstrous foe.
“One by one, the fully armed soldiers and mercenaries all shouted out, whether riding Earth Dragons or simply sprinting forward, charging towards the Hakugei (White Whale).
The hunt was on, and the battle officially began.
…
“Are you okay?”
On the other side of the battlefield, Fang Li looked at Emilia, whose breathing had become somewhat rapid, and asked with a furrowed brow.
Emilia’s body was still surrounded by ice crystals as she shook her head, responding directly, “It’s… I am okay.”
Though she said so, Emilia’s breath grew increasingly rapid, and even her complexion turned somewhat pale.
This condition furrowed Fang Li’s brow deeply.
It was just one use of magic, why had it become like this?
The answer came from Rem.
“It’s the magic power.”
Supporting Emilia, Rem glanced towards Hakugei (White Whale)’s body, her voice tense as she explained, “Emilia Sama is a spirit user, unlike a mage who uses magic from the atmosphere. Right now, the air is filled with the mist’s magic power released by Hakugei (White Whale), which has been restored to its original state by the Evil Repelling’s stone. Emilia Sama’s use of magic under these conditions has resulted in excessive stamina consumption.”
With Rem’s explanation, Fang Li understood.
Immediately, he glanced at the crystal pendant worn by Emilia.
It was the Crystal Stone housing Pack.
However, the Crystal Stone now seemed dim and lifeless.
“So, Pack can’t join the fight after all?”
It was nearly midnight now.
Pack’s activity window was from nine in the morning until five in the evening.
So, the great spirit known as the ‘Beast of the End’ was currently sleeping within the Crystal Stone, accumulating magic power during the daytime.
With that thought, Fang Li turned his gaze forward once more.
He saw soldiers and mercenaries from all directions surrounding Hakugei (White Whale), wielding their weapons and climbing up its colossal body, leaving behind numerous wounds, causing blood to splatter.
Meanwhile, the mages were either casting spells or operating magic stone cannons, causing various attributes of magic to explode around Hakugei (White Whale)’s body, creating powerful explosions that shook its mountain-like form.
Among them, Wilhelm was the most active, roaring continuously as he wielded his sword like a demon god, inflicting numerous wounds on Hakugei (White Whale)’s body.
Finally, even Crusch joined the frontline, gripping her sword tightly and disregarding range, unleashing invisible slashes that transformed into scything gusts of wind, slashing towards Hakugei (White Whale).
It was Crusch’s renowned sword technique, a slash that could ignore range.
However, despite the members of the expedition being so active, the Hakugei (White Whale) only continued to howl in pain. Even with numerous wounds, it showed no signs of weakening.
Moreover, Fang Li noticed something else.
A suppressed magic power was gathering within Hakugei (White Whale)’s body.
Sensing this magic power, the expressions of Emilia and Rem changed slightly.
Fang Li lifted his gaze and said to Emilia and Rem, “Stay here.”
Before Emilia and Rem could reply, Fang Li’s figure moved like a gust of wind, creating a whirlwind as he charged forward.
Half a second later, a voice reached Fang Li’s ears.
“Be careful…”
Was that Emilia’s voice?
Or was it Rem’s voice?
With only the sound of the wind in his ears, Fang Li couldn’t discern it.
Only his ice-blue Mystic Eyes shone brightly in his pupils looking cold and unfathomable.
