“Here”. As Fang Li walked through the mansion’s hallway, Natsuki Subaru, with an incredibly poor attitude, pointed to a door on the side.
Fang Li chose to ignore Natsuki Subaru’s bad attitude. After all, if he let every little thing Subaru said bother him, he’d be busy all the time.
He knew Subaru’s attitude was poor for one reason: “This is no longer about setting flags; he’s outright stealing them!”
Subaru was likely annoyed because he thought the situation in the alley should have been his opportunity to play the hero, but Fang Li had swooped in and taken it away.
Without paying any mind to Natsuki Subaru, Fang Li knocked on the door in front of him.
The next moment, a voice came from within the room.
“Who’s there?”
It was a voice filled with irritation and unhappiness. It continued, “If it’s that jerk Reinhard, then get lost!”
From the tone, it seemed the person inside was a teenage girl. However, the rude attitude did not sound like that of a young girl.
So, Fang Li simply pushed open the door in front of him.
The room he entered was lavishly decorated.
“Hmm?”
In one corner of the room, at a dressing table, a girl turned her head to look at the door.
She had golden hair as yellow as ripe grains of wheat and dark red eyes like jewels. She appeared to be about 14 or 15 years old and had a small, mischievous fang.
This girl was Felt.
However, unlike before, when she wore tattered thief’s clothing, now she was dressed in a beautiful pale yellow gown and high heels. Her previously unkempt hair had been styled neatly, shining brilliantly under the light. She looked like a perfect little princess.
Unfortunately, the little princess’ response to seeing Fang Li was to widen her red jewel-like eyes, and shortly afterward, her expression turned vicious.
“Hu—!”
A sudden gust of wind blew.
“Ha!”
Accompanied by a young shout, Felt, wrapped in the strong wind, leaped in front of Fang Li with astonishing speed and swung a kick at his face without hesitation.
“Boom—!”
The impact of Felt’s swift kick dispersed the strong wind around her, blowing in all directions. The wind shook the red carpet on the ground, the curtains on the windows, and the decorations on the walls.
“Oooh!”
Natsuki Subaru, standing nearby, had his face distorted like a balloon by the rush of wind, making his skin ripple comically which also made him look utterly ridiculous.
Once the gust of wind died down, only Felt remained poised in her kick stance, and Fang Li calmly blocked her foot with the side of his arm.
“You’ve been living with me for almost a month, so you should know me well enough by now,” Fang Li remarked casually, not even bothering to look at Felt. “One of you tries to punch me the moment we meet, and the other tries to kick me. I even came to check on you after hearing you were brought here.”
Hearing this, Felt’s attitude was even worse than Natsuki Subaru’s. “You dare say that?” Felt shouted angrily at Fang Li. “It’s all because of you that I’m trapped in this dreadful place! I can’t even leave, and all this talk of ‘Knights’ is absolute nonsense!”
“Come on, you’re a girl. I’m not expecting you to act like a noble, but at least have some grace,” Fang Li retorted, shaking his head. “And while we’re on the subject, if you’re wearing a dress, try not to kick people in the face. You’re not leaving much to the imagination here.”
“What?” Natsuki Subaru, rubbing his face, looked up at Fang Li’s words, his eyes wide with interest. But just as he was about to turn and look, a high heel came flying into his view.
“Smack!”
The heel struck Natsuki Subaru’s face heavily, causing him to cry out in pain and fall to the ground.
Felt finally pulled back her foot and snorted coldly, her displeasure evident to anyone who looked at her.
It’s not hard to understand her frustration. After being held captive in a mansion for an entire month, being forced to wear clothes she didn’t like, and do things she didn’t want to do, anyone would lose their temper.
In this situation, Fang Li seemed to pour oil on the fire by saying, “You chose to find out about your origins, and I merely pointed you in the right direction. How is that my fault?”
A month ago, after Elsa’s attack, Felt had questioned Fang Li about her past. At the time, Fang Li had told Felt to seek out Reinhard.
Felt, unable to resist the desire to learn more about her origins, did as Fang Li suggested and approached Reinhard.
And there, she discovered the truth.
“How does it feel?” Fang Li asked Felt with a gentle smile. “How does it feel to be the Princess of the Dragon Kingdom of Lugnica?”
Yes, a princess. Felt’s true identity was that of the sole survivor of the royal family, thought to be extinct.
Fourteen years ago, Lugnica’s royal castle was invaded on a large scale. The castle was thrown into chaos, resulting in the kidnapping of the king’s brother’s daughter, who went missing.
Felt was the daughter of the previous king’s brother and the last remaining bloodline of the royal family.
Fang Li had directed Felt to seek Reinhard because he knew about this.
Though he wasn’t sure how things played out, it seemed Felt had been recognized by Reinhard and her true identity had been discovered.
So Reinhard, loyal to the royal family, refused to let her go, using forceful means to keep her there.
Felt, understandably annoyed, said, “Who would accept such an outrageous identity?”
It was clear that Felt was unwilling to accept her lineage.
