In the following ten days, as Fang Li had mentioned earlier, he continued to engage in true battles with Ryougi Shiki within the soul space.
No, it couldn’t be called a battle anymore; it was a genuine and brutal fight.
Compared to the Ryougi Shiki simulated in the training grounds, the Ryougi Shiki in Fang Li’s soul space was undoubtedly more formidable.
The Character simulated in the training grounds, due to setting constraints, possessed the skills and abilities of the original, but that was about it.
After all, it was merely a simulated opponent, akin to artificial intelligence, with techniques but lacking tactics. Even if their strengths were identical, in a battle against the original, the victor would still be the original.
As for Fang Li’s Ryougi Shiki in the soul space, her utilization of the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception had reached a surprisingly advanced level. Unable to directly kill Fang Li, she found ways for indirect deaths by targeting body temperature, a tactical approach that the simulated Character in the training grounds would never attempt.
For the opponents simulated in the training grounds, once they attacked, they only considered one attack pattern and wouldn’t think ahead or plan multiple steps ahead. They were very rigid.
Therefore, by battling Ryougi Shiki in the soul space, Fang Li could learn various aspects of using the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
Of course, it was easier said than done.
As Ryougi Shiki mentioned earlier, even if one wanted to kill a conceptual thing, one needed to be aware of and understand that thing. If unable to comprehend it, even the Death Line wouldn’t be visible.
For example, Fang Li had never thought about killing body temperature before; it wasn’t something he subconsciously recognized, so the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception couldn’t capture the death of that thing.
Combined with various other issues, Fang Li’s journey was, all in all, long and required gradual progress.
However, Fang Li completely heeded Ryougi Shiki’s advice.
“People often accompanied by death?”
Ten days later, on the lawn outside his personal residence, Fang Li stood there with a token in his hand.
However, this wasn’t a Mission Command that could manipulate Dungeon Quests and the number of participants, nor was it an instruction to choose the world to enter. It was a transparent, crystal-like token.
Dungeon Selection Command (Rank Four): A special item used when applying to enter a Dungeon World, capable of making certain alterations to Dungeon World Quests currently being matched. Targets fourth-rank, and the alterations are specific to Dungeon World. When used, it will randomly provide three Dungeon Worlds for selection, valued at 30,000 Exchange Points.
Fang Li directly exchanged this item from the Main God’s Dimension rather than acquiring it in the Trading Area. Therefore, he paid the full price, exchanging it for 30,000 Exchange Points.
The purpose was straightforward: to select a Dungeon World that met his criteria and see if he could find those who were ‘often accompanied by death.’
“Like Dungeon Mission Command and Dungeon Command, this Dungeon Selection Command can also be used three times.”
Holding the token, Fang Li thought silently.
“In other words, I can randomly select nine Dungeon Worlds in total.”
With so many Dungeon Worlds, he should be able to find one that met his requirements, at least?
“Even if not, I still have 150,000 Exchange Points.”
Since he decided to do it, Fang Li wouldn’t hesitate with Exchange Points. If he couldn’t find a world he liked through the random selection, he would consider investing the remaining 150,000 Exchange Points.
“Hopefully, my luck won’t be that bad.”
With this in mind, Fang Li used the token.
“Serial Number 11273 detected holding a special item, capable of making certain alterations to Dungeon World Quests currently being matched. Would you like to proceed with the usage?”
“Yes.”
As Fang Li’s words fell, the notification sound from the Main God’s Dimension continued to ring consecutively.
“Using the special item Dungeon Selection Command, you can choose one from the following Dungeon Worlds randomly selected for alteration.”
“One: Seiken Tsukai no World Break (World Break: Aria of Curse for a Holy Swordsman).”
“Two: Rakudai Kishi no Eiyuutan (Chivalry of a Failed Knight).”
“Three: Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School).”
Listening to the notification sounds echoing in his mind, Fang Li’s brows furrowed.
Fang Li was familiar with these three Dungeon Worlds. Although each had a completely different worldview, all three were themed around the life of combat academy students, much like the Asterisk City.
The first world was somewhat unique, with its primary source of combat power being reincarnation, having some connection to death but not significant enough.
The second world involved fighting with weapons derived from the soul. While Fang Li couldn’t say he was uninterested, his unique soul was on the verge of breaking, likely resulting in an unreliable weapon. So, it wasn’t suitable.
The third world was a modern magic world unrelated to Fang Li’s current situation, making it unsuitable.
In summary, none of these three worlds aligned with Fang Li’s objectives.
Therefore, Fang Li used the Dungeon Selection Command for the second time.
“Using the special item Dungeon Selection Command, you can choose one from the following Dungeon Worlds randomly selected for alteration.”
“One: Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari (Tenchi Muyo! War on Geminar).”
“Two: Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo (Problem Children Are Coming from Another World, Aren’t They?).”
“Three: Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World).”
This time, Fang Li’s mind suddenly stirred. After a moment of contemplation, he smiled abruptly and made a direct choice.
Shortly after, Fang Li used the Dungeon Mission Command again.
“Serial Number 11273 uses the special item to alter the Dungeon Quests currently being matched. The item rank corresponds to the quest difficulty, and the alteration content meets the item’s requirements. The alteration project can be Dungeon World, Number of Participants, and Main Quest Number. The Dungeon World has been selected; please choose one option for altering the Number of Participants and the Main Quest Number.”
“Alter Number of Participants.”
“Alteration project confirmed, allowed to proceed. Would you like to continue?”
“Yes.”
“Number of Participants reduced. The Number of Participants for this matching is now 5, with the highest possible reduction to 1 and the lowest to 4. Please choose.”
“Reduce it to 1 person.”
“Alteration successful, Dungeon Quest re-matched.”
Not long after, the message for the next Dungeon World appeared in Fang Li’s mind.
“Dungeon World: Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World).”
“Quest Difficulty: Rank Four.”
“Number of Participants: 1.”
“Main Quest Number: 3.”
“Quest 1: Kill a Sin Archbishop from the Witch Cult. Additional rewards will be based on the number of kills.”
“Quest 2: Acquire a Witch Factor. Additional rewards will be based on the quantity gained.”
“Quest 3: Gain 30,000 Exchange Points. Additional rewards will be based on the Exchange Points gained.”
“Failure Punishment: Each failure in the Main Quest will deduct 5,000 Exchange Points.”
“Completion Reward: Settlement based on the final evaluation.”
