Cosmos and the other adult Kuja female warriors led a squad of young girls out of the city, soon splitting into three smaller teams and heading into the forests surrounding Amazon Lily Island.

Although they were young girls, each of them had at least one type of Haki initiation— either the Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) to enhance their attack power or the Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) to sense danger.

Moreover, the area around Amazon Lily Island had been cleared of overly dangerous animals for hundreds of years, making it relatively safe for these Kuja tribe girl trainees.

Suddenly, a loud roar echoed through the forest.

A massive black-furred wild boar charged out, blocking the path of one of the Kuja girl squads, consisting of seven or eight members.

Swoosh, Swoosh, Swoosh—the girls immediately halted, forming a formation and positioning themselves strategically. Their pet snakes stiffened into bows as they drew arrows and nocked them onto the bowstrings. Each movement was disciplined and synchronized, with no signs of panic.

Those who had mastered Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) infused their arrows with the Haki at the tips. The green-haired second sister, Sandersonia, was slightly less skilled and could only infuse her arrows’ bodies with Haki, giving them a faint black hue.

The orange-haired third sister, Marigold, was more proficient; her arrows seemed unchanged, but only the girls with Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) could perceive the flowing Haki coating them.

While Sandersonia’s blackened arrows quickly lost their Haki after being fired, Marigold’s Haki-coated arrows retained their power longer, making them far more destructive.

However, despite their quick reactions, someone else was faster.

The black wild boar managed only a low growl before its legs stiffened, its mouth foamed, and its eyes rolled back. It collapsed, twitching on the ground.

Whiz, Whiz, Whiz— the girls’ arrows grazed the wild boar’s fur, missing their mark. Some arrows embedded into the ground beyond, while others exploded with a bang but failed to rouse the now-unconscious boar.

Marigold pouted, “Nee San!”

Sandersonia grumbled, “Nee San…”

Cosmos, who was leading the squad, felt embarrassed and, along with the other girls, turned to look at the black-haired girl among them— eleven-year-old Boa Hancock.

Despite being the center of attention, Hancock showed no discomfort. She calmly brushed a lock of her black hair aside. “What’s wrong?”

“Though we didn’t feel anything happening…” one of the girls said.

“But it’s obvious that only your Haoshoku Haki (Conqueror’s Haki) could do something this over-the-top, Hancock…” the other girls chimed in, including Hancock’s sisters. They all nodded in agreement.

Hancock frowned slightly. “Isn’t this a more efficient way?”

The wild boar was so weak that it wasn’t worth the effort for her to harden her pet Salome into a snake bow, draw and nock an arrow, imbue it with Busoshoku Haki, aim, and fire… Naturally, Hancock chose to release her Haoshoku Haki in a precise burst, directly targeting the boar and knocking it unconscious with overwhelming spirit.

“Well, that’s true…” The girls were all captivated by Hancock’s charm. Despite being close in age and the same gender, they couldn’t help but admire her. “Hancock, you’re so beautiful and powerful, taking down the prey without even lifting a finger… Ah!”

Sandersonia whispered beside Hancock, “Nee San, how are we supposed to train like this?”

Marigold nodded in agreement, “Yeah, exactly…”

Hancock glanced at Marigold, who immediately quieted down, her pet snake mimicking her silence.

“Only Nee San has Haoshoku Haki…” Sandersonia sighed, unable to resist pouting as she clung to her Nee San’s arm. “Anyway, didn’t Snake Princess Sama say that Haoshoku can’t be improved through training? Since that’s the case, why not join us in practicing Busoshoku Haki and Kenbunshoku Haki, Nee San?”

Hancock scoffed, “What’s the point of training those things?”

Cosmos, with a snake coiled around her arm, walked up to the unconscious boar, gently touching its tough hide and sharp tusks. She thought to herself, “Hancock’s Haoshoku Haki avoided all of us and targeted only this prey… I’ve only seen this level of control from Snake Princess Sama! Hancock… she’s different from us…”

Reflecting on this, she felt a pang of jealousy. After all, she had only ever seen Haoshoku Haki in action from the current Snake Princess and Hancock in her entire life.

“It truly is the king’s disposition, found in one in a million. For Amazon Lily Island to have two consecutive generations with Haoshoku Haki is an unparalleled miracle.

Even after venturing outside into the open seas, she hadn’t encountered other Haoshoku Haki users. It’s not just about Haoshoku Haki; even in the First Half of the Grand Line, Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) and Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) are rare knowledge.

Otherwise, the Kuja Pirate crew wouldn’t be so invincible, striking fear into pirates and merchant ships alike…

Lost in these thoughts, Cosmos continued leading the girls along the island’s forest edge, teaching them various survival skills— like which terrain is best for ambushing enemies or which materials are ideal for making traps.

Suddenly, the ground lifted, dirt shaking off as a massive Orochi, over ten meters long, emerged from where it had been buried. The serpent reared its thick body, hissing loudly.

“Wait!” Cosmos raised her hand and called out loudly, “Don’t panic… uh?”

Before she could finish her sentence, the enormous snake’s eyes rolled back, its body convulsing before it collapsed to the ground with a loud thud.

Cosmos and the other girls turned to look at Hancock.

On either side of Hancock, the green-haired girl and the orange-haired girl simultaneously held their foreheads in disbelief.

“Sorry, I couldn’t help myself…” Hancock bit her full, rosy lips lightly, looking pitiful.

The other girls immediately melted, reassuring her that everyone has moments where they can’t hold back, so she shouldn’t worry about it.

Cosmos, being an adult warrior, managed to remain composed and began to educate them, “I was just about to say! The snakes on Amazon Lily Island are friendly creatures that coexist harmoniously with us, the women of Amazon Lily…”

One girl raised her hand like a curious child and asked, “But why?”

Another girl, pretending to be wise, replied knowingly, “Oh, I see. It’s because the Amazon Lily women are the daughters of snakes…”

“That’s not it at all!!” the other girls shouted.

Cosmos sighed and explained, “I don’t know the exact reason, but the village elders once said that when Amazon Lily was founded on this island hundreds of years ago, we received help from the island’s snakes…”

The girls’ thoughts quickly jumped to another question, and they asked, “Huh? So we actually moved to Amazon Lily Island? Then our ancestors lived in the open sea before?”

“How strange! Why did they specifically come to the Calm Belt?”

“Were our ancestors lost?”

“Idiot, those who drifted to this island were either shipwrecks or skeletons…”

Listening to the girls’ chatter, Cosmos smiled and said, “Well, I think events from hundreds of years ago aren’t that important anymore. What’s important is our life here on Amazon Lily Island. The elders in the village always repeat two things: First, this is Amazon Lily, the land of women! Second…” She raised one finger, then two.

The young warrior girls shouted in unison, “Men are not welcome here! Haha…”

The group burst into laughter. Born on this island, none of them knew what men even were, and for now, they had no curiosity about them.

Hancock was also uninterested. She just said impatiently, “Then I’ll just go on my own.”
