To aid their training, Cosmos used cotton balls to block the girls’ ears. Then, she blindfolded them with cloth strips.

With both sight and hearing effectively shut off, the girls, including the green-haired second sister Sandersonia, the orange-haired third sister Marigold, and their other companions, were left fumbling in the training field like blind and deaf people.

One attacked slowly, the other dodged slowly. None of them were sure where anyone was, or where the attacks would land, but they all wanted to awaken their Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), that extraordinary sense beyond the physical.

Even these trainee Kuja warriors knew that Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) and Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) complemented each other. There had never been a case where someone only learned Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) without also mastering Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki).

If one could master Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), one would inevitably grasp Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) over time. The only difference was that some were more adept at Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) while others excelled at Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki).

Naturally, those who first mastered Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) would eventually also gain proficiency in Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki).

And another effective method for beginners to train in Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) was… to get hit.

To take a hit infused with Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki).

“Aaaahhhh!”

After training all morning, the girls were bruised and battered. They removed their blindfolds and earplugs, collapsing in pairs or groups.

“I’m so tired!”

“Haki training is really exhausting…”

“But it’s fine. We’re going to be Amazon warriors, and we’ll definitely master Haki.”

The girls encouraged each other.

A ponytailed girl asked the green-haired Sandersonia and her orange-haired third sister, “Sandersonia, Marigold, why don’t you two secretly ask your older sister Hancock about the secrets to mastering Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) or Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki)?”

The orange-haired Marigold exchanged a glance with her second sister, and they both replied, “Asking our elder sister… probably won’t help.”

“Huh?” The ponytailed girl was confused.

Not far away, Hancock was unlike the others. After training all morning, she still seemed as relaxed as ever, sitting on a tree branch, lightly lifting a finger to catch a butterfly that fluttered her way.

Elsewhere in Kuja City, a chameleon-like Den Den Mushi was quietly creeping around, its eyes popping out like lollipops as it blended into its surroundings. As it crawled along walls, it changed to match their color.

When it passed by a table, it turned the color of the table and casually swallowed up a large bag of food, stashing it away in its internal City Fortress.

Even as it crawled through the busy streets of Amazon Lily, no one noticed the chameleon-like Den Den Mushi amid the bustling citizens.

Inside the Den Den Mushi…

Liam, blindfolded and with his ears plugged, stood inside the surreal, Den Den Mushi’s City Fortress.

Without sight or sound, he actually felt a strange sense of relief…

Though the green Den Den Mushi was intelligent, it was still a Den Den Mushi and not a human, so its internal architecture didn’t reflect human aesthetics. Its City Fortress could be more accurately described as a giant, cavernous interior…

Robin stood in front of Liam, waving her hand in front of his face. Seeing no reaction, she confirmed that he really couldn’t see.

“Shall I start?” She asked.

Liam nodded. Robin then crossed her arms and focused, summoning the power of the Hana Hana no Mi (Flower-Flower Fruit).

As flower petals fluttered, dozens of Robin’s hands appeared on the floor, ceiling, and walls surrounding Liam.

How subtle is the sound of flowers blooming?

With his ears plugged, Liam couldn’t hear it at all.

Robin controlled her ability, sending hands to grab Liam from the side.

But unexpectedly, although Liam couldn’t see or hear, he predicted the incoming attack from the side and dodged it with ease.

Robin blinked and then sent several arms from all directions, all reaching for the blindfolded and earplugged Liam.

Liam sidestepped, crouched, leaped, took a step forward, and then retreated again… effortlessly evading all of Robin’s probing attempts.

Suddenly, flowers bloomed across Liam’s face, and two of Robin’s arms grew, removing his blindfold and earplugs.

“This is what you call ‘lacking talent for Haki’?” She asked, facepalming.

There was silence for a moment. Robin looked up to see Liam thoughtfully rubbing his chin, murmuring, “The scent of the flowers is too strong…”

Robin froze for a moment. She suddenly remembered that, back when Liam easily saw through her Hana Hana no Mi (Flower-Flower Fruit) disguise, his explanation was that the unique fragrance of the flower petals gave it away.

So, the reason Liam had just so easily dodged her attacks wasn’t because he had awakened Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), but rather… he was relying on his sense of smell?

“Seems like we need to block my nose too,” Liam said seriously.

Is the smell really that strong? A faint blush crossed Robin’s face before she quickly used her Hana Hana no Mi (Flower-Flower Fruit) to grow more arms over Liam’s face, covering his eyes, ears, and even plugging his nostrils.

“How about now?”

“Fighting fire with fire, huh… This way, my whole head is filled with the flower scent, so I won’t be distracted by it anymore. Actually makes sense.” Liam’s muffled voice came from beneath the bundle of arms wrapped around him.

Time passed as Liam continued his special training inside the Den Den Mushi’s City Fortress with Robin, often visiting the Kuja training grounds to observe the warriors in training and attend their lessons.

At the Kuja training grounds, today’s young warriors had trained diligently, and by the evening, they were all nearly exhausted.

Whether training for Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) or Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki), none could avoid getting hit…

As a result, by midday, the girls’ arms and legs were covered in bruises.

Luckily, the Kuja warriors had strong physiques, and minor injuries like these would heal with a good meal and a night’s rest.

After training ended and during their break, a young girl suddenly raised her hand and asked in a sweet voice, “Cosmos! Besides Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) and Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki), what about other Haki? Can’t we learn that?”

“No way!”

“Did she really ask that? So embarrassing…”

Her companions were startled, thinking this silly girl had actually voiced such a foolish question.

Cosmos, who had been drinking water, paused at the question, “You mean Haoshoku Haki…”

She smiled. “That’s something entirely different from Busoshoku Haki (Armament Haki) and Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki). Haoshoku Haki is known as the power of kings, a rare talent found in one in a million people. It’s not something you can learn, nor can you strengthen it through training. It’s a special kind of Haki…”

The girls gasped in awe. “Snake Princess has Haoshoku Haki, doesn’t she? So amazing…”

“No wonder she’s the Snake Princess, with the power of a king… I wish I could know what Haoshoku Haki is really like!”

Amid their idle chatter, the black-haired girl suddenly stood up.

“Elder sister…”

“You’re not going to…”

The green-haired second sister Sandersonia and the orange-haired third sister Marigold, who were applying medicine to each other’s bruises, were startled by Hancock’s movement. They immediately focused their attention—gathering their courage.

“Hancock…” Cosmos was also surprised. She suddenly felt an overwhelming, invisible pressure emanating from the black-haired girl as she slowly walked forward, sweeping across the entire area in an instant.
