Liam was very aware of how much he could eat now.

Especially after unlocking the Life Return ability, it was almost impossible for him to be overwhelmed by food.

He could quickly digest whatever he ate, absorbing the nutrients to replenish himself.

This was the power of Life Return, a way of tapping into one’s own potential.

His consciousness told his body—*digest this now!*

Body: *Yes, boss.*

Because he knew himself so well, Liam had no hesitation in feeding Robin far more food than she would normally be able to handle.

They had been eating for two hours…

Robin, who was continuously eating and digesting various meats, had probably consumed several hundred pounds by now…

“Ugh… hiccup…”

Just as Robin was about to finish what was in her mouth, Liam brought out another huge roasted leg of meat and tried to feed it to her.

“Trust in the Liam Family’s traditional healing methods!” Liam gave her a thumbs up, turning around to grab a massive slab of meat dripping with golden oil.

Finally, the feast came to an end…

Robin, who was once slender and petite, was now round and full. Sitting on the ground, she felt like she might roll away if she wasn’t careful…

Her limbs suspended in the air, she lay on the ground, swaying back and forth, her mouth smeared with grease.

She stared blankly at the night sky, which was growing darker as stars began to appear.

*How did it come to this…?*

Just then, Liam’s head came into view, blocking the moon in the sky above.

Robin blinked, trying to move her limbs, but they couldn’t reach the ground… She continued blinking helplessly at Liam.

“Rest is not yet an option, young lady!” Liam chuckled mischievously. He opened his hand, bringing it close to her collagen-rich face, just large enough to cover it.

Liam waved his five fingers in front of Robin’s face in a hypnotic (or persuasive) gesture, whispering, “Sleep… sleep…

“Sleep…

“The broken bones in your arm will heal perfectly, leaving no gaps…”

Robin cooperated with her personal doctor, relaxing her mind…

After nearly ten minutes of Liam waving his fingers, Robin finally began to feel sleepy.

It seemed that even the arm bound with wooden splints and bandages was listening to Liam’s hypnotic voice, subtly adjusting its self-healing process according to his instructions…

Just before she completely fell asleep, Robin heard Liam say, “Hurry up and digest all of this. She’s gotten so fat, I should apologize to the entire nation…”

*Complaining about the weight after constantly feeding me…* Robin thought to herself before slipping into unconsciousness and drifting into a peaceful sleep.

She wasn’t sure how long she had slept…

Robin was startled awake by the roar of a wild beast.

She lay on the ground, then slowly got up— and that’s when she realized that her body had completely returned to normal, with her limbs now able to touch the ground again.

Touching her belly, she found that it was once again flat.

The intense pain from her broken arm braced with wooden splints, had also subsided considerably.

*How incredible…*

Robin thought as she looked up to see Liam on the other side of the campfire, battling a massive beast in the shadows.

*Shua!*

Robin caught a glimpse of a cyan arc of energy slicing through the night sky, followed by the heavy thud of the beast’s head hitting the ground.

“You’re awake?”

Liam kicked the beast’s massive head aside and walked back into the firelight, his body covered in blood splatter. It was clear that he had been through more than just that one fight…

“Yeah…” Robin rubbed her eyes with her good hand while sprouting several arms from the ground to help herself stand up. “How long did I sleep?”

“About a few hours! Soon it’ll be dawn.” Liam grinned, “Too bad this guy wasn’t useful, or I would’ve recorded you slimming down— that was pretty fun to watch.”

He gestured to the spot where Robin had been lying. She noticed that Liam’s Den Den Mushi was there, dozing off. Its “camouflage” ability was so good that it was easy to overlook…

“…” Robin touched her face, scanning their camp. Surrounding them were heaps of giant beast corpses, piled high in the dark forest beyond the firelight. “Were you… fighting the beasts of this island the entire time I was asleep?”

Liam replied, “Yeah. The animals on this island are pretty strange— they don’t sleep at night and love launching surprise attacks! Some of them are actually quite fierce… but unfortunately for them, they ran into me!”

His body turned into a gaseous state, becoming a cloud of mist.

“In the face of an ability like this, no matter how strong a beast is, it’s still just a beast.”

“…” Robin smiled and nonchalantly remarked, “The beasts on this island are quite large, aren’t they?”

Liam stroked his chin and mused, “Maybe we’ve been eating too well?”

Robin imitated him, stroking her chin as well. “Sounds completely reasonable…”

Dawn broke, with a ray of morning light spilling into the jungle of this deserted island.

Liam placed an Iron Rod across the back of his neck, resting his arms lazily on either end of it as he strolled a few steps through the forest.

Waving a hand behind him, he called out, “Robin, let’s go!”

Robin’s broken arm was still braced by wooden boards and held up by a sling. After all, healing a bone injury takes time… Even with the powerful regenerative abilities from Life Return, her arm’s fracture couldn’t heal overnight.

“Aren’t we leaving?” Robin slowly followed behind him. “With your Ghost City Fortress, we could return to the Grand Line pretty quickly, couldn’t we?”

“We came all this way, and you want to leave just like that?!” Liam turned around, looking at her with a face full of shock.

His expression made Robin feel as if she’d said something utterly unbelievable…

She tilted her head in confusion, a question mark almost visibly floating above her head.

Suddenly, a massive beast— a fierce tiger the size of a small mountain— leaped from the trees behind her, aiming right at Robin’s unsuspecting form.

Robin didn’t have time to react, but her ‘B.I.B.’ ability did, as it automatically executed a Soru from the Rokushiki techniques, moving her out of the giant tiger’s path in an instant.

Meanwhile, Liam’s gaseous form had already slipped into the tiger’s body through its ears, eyes, and other openings…

The huge tiger, oblivious to the danger, began bleeding from its seven orifices before collapsing to the ground, twitching briefly.

Liam’s gas form, not stained by a single drop of blood, drifted out of the tiger’s skull and reformed into his arm.

Looking up at the sky, he continued, “Besides, I’m completely lost— I don’t even know which way is which anymore. I wouldn’t know which direction to fly in to reach the Grand Line… and what if I accidentally flew into South Blue instead!”

“Plus, your arm needs to heal first,” Liam added.

Robin walked beside him, smiling softly as she stared at him.

“What are you looking at?” Liam grumbled. He swung his Iron Rod and instantly killed a snake that had suddenly dropped from a tree, attempting to bite Robin’s neck.

“That’s the real reason, isn’t it?” Robin teased with a playful smile.

“You’re unusually lively today!” Liam quickly denied it. “It’s not.”

“It is, isn’t it? I am definitely, right?” Robin kept teasing him, her questions playful.

Along the way, Liam smashed more than a dozen beasts with his Iron Rod and used his Gasu Gasu no Mi (Gas Gas Fruit) to kill several other dangerous monsters.

Just as Liam was about to angrily admit the truth, Robin suddenly stopped asking and, stroking her chin, nodded to herself. “Oh well, it doesn’t really matter.”

“If it didn’t matter, why did you keep going on about it for so long?!” Liam rolled his eyes.

“Speaking of which, the Calm Belt really is a breeding ground for Sea Kings, and they’re on a giant scale, too…” Robin stood on top of a large stone at the side of the jungle path, shading her eyes with one hand as she gazed at the calm sea in the distance. “Maybe this area really is a nutrient-rich sea…”

“Don’t casually change the subject like that! You’re just trying to make me complain!” Liam pouted. “Who taught you that? Your personality’s completely off-script.”

Robin looked down at him, shaking her head in disapproval.

“Oh yeah,” Liam laughed. “It’s me who taught you that, huh!”

“Hmm?” Robin suddenly noticed something strange about the stone she was standing on. She jumped down and took a closer look, exclaiming in surprise, “This is… a man-made structure?”

Upon closer inspection, they realized that they had unknowingly walked into an area filled with ruins and crumbling remnants of buildings.
