However, there were simply too many enemies around him. Despite Rocket’s small and agile nature, his defensive weaponry was on the verge of being depleted.

Nevertheless, Rocket wasn’t worried in the slightest because…

Swish!

With a flash of an Azura figure passing by Rocket, the dozens of Spaceships that had surrounded him instantly froze in place. In the next moment, they all split down the middle before abruptly exploding.

Rumble, rumble, rumble~

“Rocket, I have a question for you.” After resolving Rocket’s crisis with a single move, Lin Rui activated his domain to bring Rocket closer and asked, “You were initially with Star-Lord when you left Earth, right? Why were you later with Yondu?”

Rumble, rumble!

As Lin Rui pulled Rocket into his domain, the other Sovereign Spaceships rushed over, launching a frenzied attack from the outside. However, they were temporarily unable to breach Lin Rui’s domain. Nonetheless, maintaining the domain consumed a considerable amount of Lin Rui’s energy in this high-intensity battle.

“While Ego may have ill intentions towards Star-Lord, he should have acted sincerely until he achieved his goals. Even if you encountered the true gods of the Sovereign race, he should have helped you resolve it.”

Glancing at Peter and the others, who were currently safe and not in danger, Lin Rui inquired swiftly.

“Oh, we were initially with Star-Lord. However, we split up during a quest. Star-Lord, Gamora, and Drax went to Ego’s location first.”

“While I was doing my mission, I encountered a pursuit by the Sovereign race. Luckily, I met Yondu, who saved me and told me about Ego. We joined forces and followed you here,” Rocket replied promptly to Lin Rui’s question.

As for the quest, it was one that the Guardians of the Galaxy had accepted beforehand, although Rocket hadn’t completed it.

“You split up because of a quest? Quite a coincidence,” Lin Rui muttered after hearing Rocket’s answer.

Although the plot had undergone some changes, everything happening on Ego’s planet was not too different from the original storyline. The only significant difference was the addition of Lin Rui and his companions from the Nine Realms.

“Phantom Knight, is there a problem?” Seeing that Lin Rui’s expression seemed off, Rocket inquired.

“It’s nothing. Let’s focus on dealing with these Sovereign Spaceships for now; otherwise, it might hinder us from taking on that old guy Ego,” Lin Rui calmly responded, shaking his head.

“Haha, of course! Even though I’m running out of ammo, Star-Lord and the others are here!”

PūPūPū!

As soon as Rocket finished speaking, Lin Rui saw a barrage of small combat Spaceships entering from the cracks in this space, led by Star-Lord and Yondu, who had been sent off by Jack and Peter. Despite knowing Ego’s immense power, they had charged in without hesitation.

“Phantom Knight! In such a grand scene, how can you just let outsiders like you take the spotlight? This maniac is my biological father! Shouldn’t I be the one to deal with him?!” The next moment, a roar from Star-Lord echoed through Rocket’s communicator. It was evident he was unhappy about Lin Rui safely watching the show from the sidelines.

“If you want to do that, then let’s fight side by side! If anything unexpected happens… we’ll crush them with our absolute power!” Seeing the numerous small combat Spaceships relentlessly charging in, Lin Rui’s heart surged with determination.

He then retracted his domain and, in an instant, disappeared from his spot with Rocket. The next moment, Lin Rui had thrown Rocket onto one of the Spaceships and brandished his Spirit Sword as he once again rushed toward Ego’s reconstituted energy avatar.

As more and more Spaceships crowded into the not-so-wide battlefield, especially those from Yondu’s fleet, they quickly filled up the already cramped space. With the reckless support from Yondu’s pirate Spaceships, they surprisingly managed to suppress the Sovereign Spaceships in terms of firepower.

However, even though their teammates were increasing in number and had the upper hand in firepower against the relatively small number of Sovereign Spaceships, Lin Rui couldn’t help but feel uneasy as he dealt with Ego’s energy avatar.

Swish!

With one swift stroke, Lin Rui cleaved Ego’s energy avatar in front of him into two halves, rendering it temporarily unable to cause trouble for him. He quickly glanced over at Thor’s situation. Lin Rui noticed that Thor was currently entangled by five energy avatars of Ego and was unable to target and destroy their core.

Furthermore, Ego’s displayed power was growing stronger, and the number of energy avatars appearing in this space continued to increase. Otherwise, Thor’s greatly enhanced power wouldn’t have left him entangled like this.

Rumble, rumble, rumble!

Just as Lin Rui was planning to rush over to Thor’s aid and join forces in destroying Ego’s core, the space suddenly underwent violent tremors. Then, every stone pillar cracked, and the power supporting this space vanished, causing it to rapidly collapse.

Noticing this situation, Lin Rui’s eyes flashed with understanding. Clearly, Ego had initiated this on his own accord. Rather than letting Star-Lord and the others destroy this place, Ego was taking the initiative to control the destruction. This way, he could preserve his combat capabilities and the integrity of his planetary core.

Moreover, while there were still quite a few Sovereign race Spaceships in this space, they were all remotely controlled. Even if they were all destroyed, it would merely be a financial matter for the Sovereigns. Money, to the Sovereigns, was just a number.

However, Yondu and Star-Lord, on the other hand, were personally involved in this battle. If they were trapped here, it could lead to serious casualties.

“Jack! Peter, get out of here first! Ego intends to bury everyone here!” With this in mind, Lin Rui shouted through the communicator.

“Understood!”

Upon receiving Jack and Peter’s response, Lin Rui continued to rush towards Thor. Anyone here could get injured, but Thor would not, as his divine body was far from ordinary.

Therefore, Lin Rui had no intention of helping Thor deal with Ego’s energy avatars. His target was the Ego core brain, which was surrounded by a dozen or so thick energy tendrils.

Ever since they entered this space, Lin Rui had informed the others to attack the seemingly ordinary large rock in the center if the opportunity arose. However, due to the Sovereign race’s interference and Ego’s continuous protection of the area, although some attacks landed, most were blocked or absorbed by the energy tendrils.

As the collapse of this space grew increasingly severe, Yondu and the others had no choice but to strategically withdraw. The Sovereigns could afford to go all-out with their remote-controlled attacks, but Yondu’s group couldn’t.

“I wonder if I can destroy this brain. There’s no harm in trying…” Bypassing the main battlefield where Thor was grappling with Ego’s avatars, Lin Rui approached the brain not far away. In front of him were several energy tendrils that hadn’t joined the battle.

With these thoughts in mind, Lin Rui tightly gripped his Beheading Spirit Sword. The previously showcased Ten Thousand Swords Returning to the Sect ability had cooled down, and Lin Rui was ready to unleash it again. At the moment, this was his most powerful move within a short timeframe.

Hum, hum, hum~

As Lin Rui slowly raised his right hand, his aura quickly intensified, and countless pebbles fell from above his head. However, they were all pulverized into powder and scattered when they reached a few meters above his head.

When Lin Rui’s right hand was fully raised, countless sharp sword auras had already manifested around him. Sharp Sword Energy surged out from Lin Rui’s body, piercing through the thick clouds in the planetary exterior.

Compared to his previous deliberate suppression of the Ten Thousand Swords Returning to the Sect’s power, Lin Rui’s current display of strength and the might of this move had drawn the attention of everyone in this space. Even Thor, who was battling Ego’s energy avatars not far away, turned his gaze toward Lin Rui.

“Ten Thousand Swords Returning to One!”

Lin Rui’s voice echoed as he unleashed the full power of his technique. The sword auras converged into a devastating torrent, tearing through the energy tendrils and closing in on Ego’s core brain.
