With Thor leading the way, the sleek shuttle smoothly passed through several layers of magnificent city walls, and Lin Rui’s trio successfully entered Asgard, ultimately stopping at the entrance of the grand palace complex in the center. Even with Thor’s arranged shuttle, outsiders couldn’t enter the palace directly.
After disembarking from the shuttle, Lin Rui’s trio was led into the palace by a group of warriors clad in golden armor. As for Thor, he had already flown back to his own palace ahead of them.
Although Odin had only one legitimate queen and not many children, the palace in Asgard was quite extensive. In addition to Thor and a few members of the royal family and the Royal Guard, there were also many nobles from Asgard, including those whom Lin Rui had met last time.
As Lin Rui’s trio walked along the wide avenue toward Thor’s palace, they encountered many people along the way. Everyone recognized the courageous warriors from Midgard who had assisted them during the Dark Elf invasion of Asgard.
In the curious and bewildered gazes of Peter and Jack, each noble they encountered paid their respects to them in a manner unique to Asgard, expressing their respect for the warrior who had held his own against the Dark Elves, the Kursed, from another realm.
“Jackson, I didn’t expect you to have quite a reputation in Asgard!” Although Peter and Jack didn’t understand the specific meaning of the actions of the people around them, they could still clearly feel the respect being shown to them.
Upon hearing Peter’s words, Lin Rui remained noncommittal. Asgard was a nation that revered strength, and it had many martial elements within its culture.
Guided by the golden-armored warriors, Lin Rui’s trio finally arrived at Thor’s palace after half an hour of walking. Unlike the other magnificent palaces within the royal complex, Thor’s palace, while grand, had a rugged and powerful aesthetic.
The group of golden-armored warriors that had led Lin Rui’s trio to Thor’s palace stopped at the palace’s entrance. Lin Rui’s trio then proceeded into the spacious hall on their own. As they reached the center of the hall, a familiar voice abruptly echoed.
“Welcome, warriors from Midgard!”
Lin Rui looked up and saw Thor, who had changed into a different set of clothing, seated on a stone throne atop a high dais in the center of the palace. He looked down at the trio from above.
“Could this be a repeat of the welcome ceremony from the Rainbow Bridge, just with a change of clothes and location?” Lin Rui couldn’t help but think with some exasperation upon witnessing the scene.
It seemed that Thor was not satisfied with the welcome they had received at the Rainbow Bridge earlier.
Exhaling slowly, Lin Rui decisively took the lead in performing a traditional Asgardian gesture by pounding his chest with a fist and then bowing:
“I am Lin Rui, presenting myself before the Crown Prince of Asgard!”
After Lin Rui’s actions, Peter and Jack, who had caught on belatedly, imitated his gestures and also bowed.
“Ha-ha-ha! No need for formalities, brave warriors!” It appeared that Thor was quite pleased with Lin Rui’s trio’s performance. He laughed heartily from his position on the throne.
With a thunderous boom, Thor descended from the high dais to stand before them, much to Lin Rui’s growing impatience.
“So, what do you think? Isn’t Asgard magnificent? Much more beautiful than Earth, isn’t it?” Thor asked with a grin, pointing towards the empty hall.
“Indeed, Asgard is impressive. It’s the most prosperous realm among the Nine Realms, far surpassing Earth,” Lin Rui replied without hesitation, complimenting Thor. After all, there was no harm in praising him a bit.
“Ha-ha-ha!” Once Thor finished his exaggerated laughter, Lin Rui finally shifted the conversation to the main topic.
“Enough with the laughter. Is the spaceship ready? Time waits for no one, and we don’t know the current situation on Star-Lord’s side.”
“The spaceship has been ready for a long time. As the mightiest realm in the Nine Realms, Asgard cannot be without a spaceship. Come, I’ll show you!” Thor responded to Lin Rui’s question.
With that, Thor reached out and grabbed Lin Rui’s shoulder, and in the next moment, they disappeared.
Swish!
As Peter and Jack watched Thor and Lin Rui vanish before their eyes, they were left in a daze. However, within a few seconds, a Spatial Teleportation portal appeared beside them, with Lin Rui on the other side, waving for them to enter.
After Peter and Jack stepped through the Spatial Teleportation portal, they found themselves in a more spacious plaza. Suspended above this plaza was a spaceship far more magnificent than they had ever imagined.
At that moment, the expressions of Lin Rui and his companions were all the same: their eyes widened in amazement, their faces filled with awe.
Before them was a massive warship, larger than any of the warships used by the Dark Elves during their invasion, and its design was unique. It did not resemble the traditional sea vessels of Earth or the modern spaceships, but rather, it had the appearance of a floating palace!
It was more accurate to describe this vessel as an interstellar mobile palace rather than a spaceship. Apart from the rear section, which bore some resemblance to engines, there was no indication that this luxurious palace was a formidable warship equipped with advanced weaponry.
Although appearance wasn’t as significant in the vacuum of space, each race had distinct features in their spaceship designs. However, Asgard’s warship had truly astonished Lin Rui’s trio.
After a moment, Lin Rui’s trio finally tore their gazes away from the overwhelmingly dazzling interstellar mobile palace. Indeed, Thor had made thorough preparations, and the spaceship was truly magnificent.
“So, how much does a spaceship like this cost, Thor?” Lin Rui asked, his tone somewhat dry.
Lin Rui had a hunch that if Yondu saw such a magnificent interstellar mobile palace, he would be unable to resist the urge to plunder it. To a space pirate, this warship would be like a super-sized, flying treasure chest!
“It’s quite expensive, of course! But it’s just a small sum of money; Asgard is not short of funds,” Thor replied nonchalantly to Lin Rui’s question.
Lin Rui: …
He had forgotten that, apart from himself, all these allies and friends were wealthier than he could imagine.
Iron Man Tony Stark, a super-billionaire.
Black Panther T’Challa, the king of Wakanda.
God of Thunder Thor, Asgard’s crown prince.
Phantom Knight Jackson Lin, a regular high school student.
“Let’s go! Board the ship!” After answering Lin Rui’s question, Thor had already walked towards the luxurious mobile palace, leaving Lin Rui’s trio behind.
Following behind Thor, Lin Rui’s trio quickly caught up. Within moments, the spaceship that had been parked deep within the Asgardian palace silently ascended into the sky. After a brief engine warm-up, the palace’s speed surged.
Swish!
A few seconds later, the luxurious palace had flown out of Asgard’s atmosphere and entered the vast expanse of space. It then engaged its warp drive and disappeared from view.
