Ten minutes later, Lin Rui ended the communication.
Magneto’s request was actually quite simple – he wanted Lin Rui to help him find Scarlet Witch Wanda and Quicksilver Pietro.
Before reaching out to Lin Rui, Magneto had already approached Professor X Charles. However, the Scarlet Witch’s powers were continuously growing, and even with Professor X using his superbrain, they couldn’t locate them anymore.
So, Magneto thought of the Phantom Knight, a figure with a unique identity and significant background energy. If he couldn’t find his children with superpowers, maybe he could find them using real-world resources and methods.
In fact, during this time, influenced by Professor X and the rapidly changing global situation, Magneto had come to realize that his ambition to dominate the world with the Mutant(s) Brotherhood was no longer feasible.
Especially after discovering that he had two children alive, Magneto’s former ambitions gradually faded away. Now, all he wanted was to find Wanda and Pietro and enjoy some family time.
As for the Mutant(s) Brotherhood, it still existed, but it wouldn’t be as high-profile as before. Thanks to the efforts of Lin Rui and Professor X, society’s attitude towards Mutant(s) had changed considerably. So, Magneto had been thinking about how to transform the Mutant(s) Brotherhood.
In terms of quality, Magneto’s Mutant(s) Brotherhood was not weaker than Professor X’s X-Men. Moreover, the Mutant(s) Brotherhood had much more lenient joining criteria, and Magneto’s Mutant(s) possessed a wide variety of abilities, far outnumbering the X-Men.
However, they were also a group of hard-to-control individuals. If it weren’t for Magneto’s considerable strength, along with a group of loyal Advanced Mutant(s) supporting him, he might not have been able to rein in so many troublemakers. Therefore, the path to transformation was challenging.
Because of this, Magneto had been getting closer to Professor X lately. Although they hadn’t fully recovered their decades-old friendship, they were no longer at odds.
Lin Rui had been keeping an eye on these developments. If Professor Charles and Erik reconciled completely and the X-Men and Mutant(s) Brotherhood joined forces, the world would have a new superpower composed entirely of Mutant(s), including some five-level Mutant(s).
Lin Rui understood the immense power of five-level Mutant(s). As long as they could control such power steadily, they could easily destroy the Earth. To protect the world, Lin Rui needed to keep a close watch on these five-level Mutant(s) who could potentially destroy the planet at any moment.
Furthermore, to prevent a future Sentinel apocalypse in some timeline, Lin Rui had already pressured various parties to halt all research experiments related to Mutant(s) conducted by Stryker.
As a result, the only semi-finished Sentinel in the world was currently in the possession of the Nightcrawler team, and those who knew about it had either been secretly influenced or controlled by Lin Rui.
“This is really something I can’t refuse…” Lin Rui muttered as he contemplated the situation regarding Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver Pietro. He didn’t know much about Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, only that they were powerful Mutant(s).
Scarlet Witch, in particular, was a five-level Mutant(s) and rumored to possess chaos magic. If her abilities were fully developed, she could surpass sorcerer(s) like the Ancient Ones.
“Chaos magic… I wonder if it has already appeared or if it’s yet to emerge in this reality. Maybe I should check the system for information,” Lin Rui thought. He opened the system, which he hadn’t visited in a while, and quickly found information about chaos magic.
The description was brief: “Creation and annihilation of matter.” However, chaos magic wasn’t like Earth’s sorcerer(s) magic, which required talent and continuous practice. It was more like a substance that bestowed incredible power on its wielder—power potentially capable of destroying the entire universe. Of course, one had to be able to withstand the power of chaos magic.
In Lin Rui’s memory, Scarlet Witch was the one who had gained this power. How she obtained it, he didn’t know, and he wasn’t particularly concerned. He only cared about whether Scarlet Witch currently possessed chaos magic and how much power she could wield.
If Magneto had truly changed and wanted to reunite his family for some quality time, Lin Rui thought it wouldn’t be a bad thing to help him. In that case, helping Magneto reunite his family would be beneficial. But if Magneto still harbored ambitions of world domination, Lin Rui wouldn’t bother with him.
“Finding these siblings won’t be easy. Quicksilver is incredibly fast, and the Scarlet Witch can manipulate thoughts and change objects. If they want to hide, no one in the world can find them.”
“However, as long as they are still on Earth, they will leave traces, like a spider’s web. So, let’s add this to the daily monitoring tasks and use global surveillance resources to search for them. We’ll eventually find a clue.”
After thinking for a while, Lin Rui sent messages to Rogers and Sky’s Eye, asking them to keep an eye on the whereabouts of the siblings in their daily routines. If they discovered anything, they were instructed not to take any action but to inform him immediately.
With this issue resolved, Lin Rui planned to meditate for a while before heading to Tony’s lab. His powers were struggling to keep up with the world’s rapidly escalating crises.
However, he wasn’t entirely reliant on his own abilities to solve these issues; his friends were scattered across the globe, and he even had friends in the cosmos. As long as he could make the right choices when danger approached, that would suffice.
Buzz…
However, just as Lin Rui had entered meditation not long ago, his spiritual senses suddenly reacted. After carefully sensing this fluctuation, Lin Rui slowly opened his eyes.
“Ego, couldn’t resist any longer, huh?”
Muttering to himself, Lin Rui found that he now held a Magic Cube emitting a faint blue glow. Subsequently, a Spatial Teleportation gate appeared instantly before him, and with a step, Lin Rui vanished from Tony’s luxurious villa.
Upon stepping through the Spatial Teleportation gate, Lin Rui arrived at the already revamped base in Siberia.
This base, once discovered by Lin Rui, had been handed over to Tony. J.A.R.V.I.S had been working on its transformation, and it had been completely renewed. What used to be a historic military base was now a secret facility filled with a futuristic atmosphere.
At this moment, Lin Rui found himself in a lifeform cultivation chamber. In front of him were various glass containers of different sizes, each housing different types of special lifeforms.
Most of these containers held exotic alien plants Lin Rui had collected, which Tony kept here for research purposes.
However, Lin Rui hadn’t come here because of the plants.
His gaze passed over the glass containers, and he walked past a twisting mass of what seemed to be living black slime, a blood-red plant with crimson veins, and a vine with purple flowers that had arrived just two days ago. Finally, he stopped in front of an oval-shaped object resembling a seed.
“Ego’s seed… It’s starting to show signs of life.”
As Lin Rui looked at this object, it pulsated rhythmically, much like a beating heart.
