Phantom Knight’s departure went unnoticed by everyone except Tony and Captain Rogers. At this pivotal turning point for the entire planet as the Earth Federation was being established, Phantom Knight’s whereabouts were not a major concern.
Thus, the events occurring in the mystical nation of Wakanda in Africa did not attract much attention from others.
While Lin Rui was leaving the United States for Africa’s Wakanda with the Magic Cube, in San Francisco, the Phantom Knight’s sudden appearance caused a significant shift in the relationship between Venom and Eddie, leading to a rather different turn of events compared to the original storyline.
Eddie’s attack on the Life Foundation was progressing much more smoothly.
However, as Eddie and Venom wreaked havoc on the Life Foundation, the escaped Riot, who had constantly changed hosts, finally arrived in San Francisco. He successfully bonded with Carlton Drake, an ambitious figure whose intentions aligned perfectly with Riot’s.
As Eddie and Venom broke through the Life Foundation’s defenses and headed toward its core, Carlton Drake and Riot were pushing the control team of the Life Foundation’s spacecraft to accelerate its launch.
However, one of the technicians noticed that the Foundation’s chairman was behaving unusually and discreetly altering the launch date. This was when Riot, who had been concealing his true nature, couldn’t hide any longer.
“Roar!~~”
With a roar that sounded far from human, Carlton Drake instantly transformed into a monstrous entity even stronger than Venom. In the next moment, Riot’s hands elongated, transforming into two sharp long blades.
He swiftly swung them in both directions and as soon as Carlton Drake transformed, the technicians who hadn’t managed to escape were brutally cut down.
Crash!
Boom!
After causing considerable destruction in the control room, Riot personally activated the spacecraft’s automatic ignition system. Ensuring that there were no survivors left in the control room, Riot tore open the doors and sprinted towards the Rocket-type spacecraft parked in the launch silo.
However, Riot, who had left the control room, was unaware that even though he had killed many of the technicians inside, the remaining ones had fled in terror and couldn’t return. Meanwhile, the original launch system blinked a few times during the normal countdown and abruptly halted the countdown.
After stopping the countdown, a series of data scrolled rapidly across several screens that were still intact.
“The launch program has been deactivated. SHIELD’s team is ready to move out. Casualties amount to seventeen individuals. Riot, or rather, Carlton Drake, is to be terminated.”
While this data flashed rapidly across the screens, an order from SHIELD was also issued. In the midst of this, unbeknownst to Riot, Venom, Carlton Drake, and Eddie, SHIELD’s special ops team was finally deployed.
Lin Rui had no intention of getting involved in Eddie and the Life Foundation’s affairs any further, but bringing SHIELD in to clean up the aftermath was certainly not a problem.
