HOM-Chapter 1239 Dejected

Standing in place for a moment, Lin Rui noticed Eddie’s changing expressions. He had no idea what Venom and Eddie had discussed, but when Eddie’s gaze refocused, it seemed like they had reached some kind of agreement.

“Hmm? Eddie, what were you about to say?” Sensing that the mental fluctuations in Eddie’s mind had finally calmed down, Lin Rui spoke at the right moment.

“Uh… nothing, Phantom Knight.” Eddie, who had already reached a symbiotic agreement with Venom, had no intention of asking Lin Rui to remove Venom anymore. He simply replied.

Upon hearing Eddie’s response, Lin Rui concealed his expression beneath the mask, feeling somewhat unsurprised. He could guess what Eddie had wanted to say earlier, and now he understood that Eddie had changed his mind due to something Venom had said.

Lin Rui didn’t really care about any deals between Eddie and Venom. After all, it was unlikely to lead to any significant issues.

“Oh, in that case, I have a few questions for this Venom.” Without actively stating his intention to remove Venom from Eddie, Lin Rui glanced at Venom, who had slowly retreated behind Eddie, and said.

In response to Lin Rui’s request, Eddie made a polite gesture. Neither Eddie nor Venom harbored any thoughts of resistance after witnessing Lin Rui’s earlier display of power. As Eddie made the gesture, Venom floated out slowly.

“Respected Mr. Phantom Knight, what would you like to ask?” Facing the presence that could easily erase him at any moment, Venom conscientiously assumed its position.

Eddie and Lin Rui had different reactions upon seeing Venom’s attitude and hearing its words. It was clear that Venom’s transformation had surprised both of them to some extent.

“Nothing much, just wanted to inquire about the specific location of your clan in outer space, right down to the coordinates of the star systems.” Quickly adapting to Venom’s change in attitude, Lin Rui went on to state the primary purpose of his visit.

Indeed, Lin Rui had come here not only to witness the Venom situation but also to locate the entire Venom clan that had been wandering in space.

Although a single Venom’s strength was not impressive in Lin Rui’s eyes at this point, given his current elevated power, typical abilities didn’t impress him. However, according to power ratings, if Venom could find a suitable host, its potential strength could barely reach Level 3.

If they could symbiotically bond with someone as powerful as Spider-Man, the combined strength would certainly catch Lin Rui’s attention.

If Lin Rui and his team could obtain the entire clan of Venom, they could significantly enhance Earth’s strength as long as they could control those extraterrestrial lifeforms with their enhanced parasitic traits. After establishing the Earth Federation, they would embark on the Interstellar Great Voyage, where a stronger force would be essential.

Lin Rui’s thinking aligned with that of the Life Foundation’s Carlton Drake, both wanting to bring the entire Venom clan from space to Earth. However, their intentions diverged significantly. Lin Rui aimed to use the Venom clan’s power to strengthen himself and Earth’s capabilities, while Carlton Drake sought domination and control over Earth.

Of course, their perspectives and capabilities were on entirely different levels. Even if Carlton Drake could successfully launch another spacecraft to space to retrieve the remaining Venom clan, he had no idea how much time and resources it would take to equip his Venom squad.

Moreover, there were countless threats and no longer concealed human experiments stemming from the Venom clan.

Initially, Lin Rui could have obtained the information about the Life Foundation’s location in space from the Life Foundation itself. But since he was already face-to-face with Venom, it made more sense to ask directly. After all, Venom would undoubtedly have the most accurate information.

“Mr. Phantom Knight, what do you want…” Hearing Lin Rui’s question, Venom’s tone remained respectful, but there was a hint of trembling in its voice.

In Venom’s perspective, this parasitic extraterrestrial lifeform that devoured human hosts was undoubtedly a target to be eliminated by someone like Phantom Knight, a guardian.

So when Phantom Knight inquired about the location of the Venom clan, Venom thought it was to take action against them. Although Venom chose to exist within Eddie’s body for now, it had no intention of revealing the entire clan’s location.

“What’s the matter? You don’t know, or you don’t want to tell me?” Without offering an explanation to Venom, Lin Rui cast a casual glance at it and continued to question.

Regardless of whether he intended to exterminate the Venom clan or bring them to Earth for military purposes, Lin Rui had no concern for Venom’s fate. He wasn’t in a position to care.

“I dare not! I am willing to tell Mr. Phantom Knight the dormant location of our clan!” Venom exclaimed urgently, fearing that it might be eradicated at any moment. Then, Venom rapidly disclosed the location in outer space where its clan lay dormant, despite the slightly disdainful look from Eddie.

“Well, that will do.” Lin Rui nodded in satisfaction after recording the interstellar coordinates provided by Venom.

With these coordinates, if the E-class Skyship was deployed, it could potentially transport the dormant Venom clan back in a few trips. As for how to deal with these unique extraterrestrial lifeforms afterward, that would become Tony and Rogers’ headache.

Lin Rui believed that they would be more than capable of handling it. In any case, Lin Rui saw it as a generous gift from him to them. And evidently, Tony and the others would gladly accept this gift.

As Lin Rui finished recording the interstellar coordinates, he glanced at Venom and noticed that the teddy bear-like form it had assumed appeared somewhat dejected. This was likely due to the impending threat to its clan, especially considering that this news had come from Venom itself.

“Hey! I mean, what’s there to be sad about? With your limited strength, you’re probably at the bottom of your entire species, right? You can only show off in front of Eddie and those ordinary soldiers. So, if you genuinely help your clan come to Earth or even aim for domination, do you think your life will change significantly?”

Lin Rui spoke openly in front of Eddie, addressing the dejected “teddy bear.”

“Furthermore, while I may not particularly like your kind of extraterrestrial lifeforms, I won’t exterminate you all. Perhaps, in the future, you might meet others of your kind on Earth.”

Swish!

Hearing Lin Rui’s words, the dejected “teddy bear” suddenly lifted its head, widening its adorable black eyes as it stared at Lin Rui. Venom might not be intelligent, but it wasn’t that foolish either, so it quickly understood that Lin Rui’s words were indeed reasonable.

“No worries, I’ll take my leave now. As for the Life Foundation, do whatever you want with them.” (Well, no matter what they do, it won’t lead to a major issue…)

With a whoosh, before Venom and Eddie could say anything else, Lin Rui’s figure had vanished in an instant.
