HOM-Chapter 1233 Carlton Drake

Without direct contact with the seed he had picked up, Lin Rui enveloped the hideous-looking seed in a layer of deep azure internal energy.

The special energy barrier that had concealed the seed from various detections, even making it invisible, had already been rendered ineffective due to the penetration of Lin Rui’s internal energy. Now, this peculiar-looking seed was fully exposed to Lin Rui’s sight, and even SHIELD’s agents could detect this strange object from afar.

After grabbing the seed, Lin Rui stood still for a moment, pondering. He already had the results of this hidden quest in his mind. “Hidden Quest Completed: Obtain Ego’s seed left on Earth; Reward points have been awarded.”

“The system’s response is as fast as ever!” Lin Rui commented before withdrawing his consciousness from his mind.

This hidden quest hadn’t been particularly dangerous. Although Lin Rui had initially entrusted it to SHIELD and they had not made any progress, once he had taken action himself, it had been swiftly completed. The fifty thousand reward points were a significant gain.

Moreover, the hidden quest only required Lin Rui to obtain Ego’s seed left on Earth, without specifying that he had to hand it over to the System Shopping Center. As Lin Rui had thought before, he could research this seed himself. A seed from a sentient planet should hold significant research value.

“Tony and Dr. Banner should really appreciate something like this,” Lin Rui mumbled to himself as he casually stored the unattractive seed in his personal space.

Next, Lin Rui flew out of the deep pit. Once outside, he immediately sent a message to the various SHIELD teams still conducting a thorough search in the last remaining area of Colorado, informing them that they could wrap things up.

Although they hadn’t found anything, they had put in a lot of effort, and Lin Rui believed they deserved some compensation from SHIELD.

With the seed obtained, Lin Rui quickly returned to New York. After greeting his family, he immersed himself in Tony’s laboratory.

Since he had chosen Earth and entered a relatively stable period of rapid development, there was no way Tony would let someone like Lin Rui, who possessed not only great power but also high intelligence, slip through his fingers.

Furthermore, Lin Rui’s knowledge of the Marvel movie plot and the influence he had on it due to his presence made him aware of Earth’s ultimate threat: the purple potato entity that aimed to use all the Infinity Stones for universal population control. Knowing this, Lin Rui had planned a grand scheme to prepare Earth.

Earth was now much stronger than in the original plot, with no internal superhero conflicts like the Civil War taking place. Lin Rui’s presence not only united various superhero factions but also facilitated the establishment of the Earth Federation.

As a result, some storylines, such as Hulk’s rampages, the “death” of J.A.R.V.I.S., Ultron’s creation, and superhero faction conflicts, never occurred.

Thanks to Lin Rui’s actions, these storylines either didn’t happen or were so heavily suppressed that they had no chance of occurring. Now, with Lin Rui’s power approaching the pinnacle of Earth, he was certain that Earth would face its greatest crisis— the purple potato entity.

Defeating that entity was a matter of continuously strengthening Earth’s power while weakening the opponent’s. If Thanos couldn’t obtain all the Infinity Stones or even lacked a single one, he might not have the capability to carry out universal population control and destroy many advanced civilizations across the universe.

As Lin Rui delved into researching cutting-edge technologies to enhance Earth’s scientific capabilities in Tony’s advanced laboratory, events were unfolding outside. However, there were not many matters of concern to Lin Rui at this moment.

In San Francisco, inside the President’s office of the Life Foundation’s headquarters, Foundation President Carlton Drake was seated in his chair, overlooking the view of San Francisco through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Today marked the return of the Life Foundation’s Mars exploration spacecraft to Earth, and it was fortunate that it had returned at this moment. Otherwise, it might have been devoured by the terrifying, world-engulfing black mist that had recently covered the skies.

“The Earth Federation, huh? Looks like we need to accelerate our plans…” Carlton Drake muttered to himself as he observed the computer screen on his desk, which displayed the Life Foundation’s exploration spacecraft rapidly entering Earth’s orbit.

This time, the spacecraft, which the Life Foundation had sent on outer space exploration for many years, was finally returning to Earth. Onboard, it carried an entity capable of overturning the world, at least according to Carlton Drake’s own assessment.

Sometimes, it wasn’t surprising that individuals who had reached the pinnacle in certain fields had unique perspectives. Even they had many things beyond their comprehension.

In Carlton Drake’s eyes, what the Mars exploration spacecraft was bringing back had the potential to change the world through the Life Foundation.

However, if Lin Rui were here at this moment, or if one of the higher-ranked agents in SHIELD were aware of Carlton Drake’s discovery, they would scoff at his assessment. In this world, though it appeared simple, it concealed many secrets.

Of course, not to say that Carlton Drake, the ambitious entrepreneur, wasn’t dreaming big. However, his complexion wasn’t looking too good when, fifteen minutes later, the spacecraft encountered a malfunction upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere and eventually crashed in a remote location in Asia.

“Deploy the special teams! We must retrieve everything intact from the spacecraft!” Carlton Drake immediately issued this order after the spacecraft’s crash. With the Life Foundation’s power, they could indeed do this even in a country with limited jurisdiction.

Of course, once the Earth Federation was fully established, he would have to reconsider. But for now, weren’t things just starting?

However, despite the prompt response from the Life Foundation, they had still lost something important. As for what this lost item was, the Life Foundation wouldn’t reveal it and could only search for it discreetly.

After transporting the remaining extraterrestrial materials from the spacecraft back to their headquarters in San Francisco, the Life Foundation’s secret experiments accelerated. Yet, these experiments required a significant amount of clinical experience, and they lacked enough willing human subjects.
