The E-grade Spaceship’s departure from Earth was, of course, noticed by Yondu, who was drawing nearer. He found it somewhat surprising that a low-tech civilization like Earth, located in the cosmic backwaters, could create a Spaceship capable of interstellar travel in such a short time.
Over twenty years ago, when Yondu had come to Earth to take Star-Lord, his Spaceship hadn’t raised any alarms among Earth’s inhabitants. At that time, Earth was perceived as a low-level civilization with steady, modest technological development.
After all, for a planet to develop into the era of interstellar exploration, it required unity. In other words, in Yondu’s eyes, Earth was nowhere near contacting extraterrestrial civilizations within a few decades. However, the silver-white Spaceship rapidly approaching now had made Yondu reconsider his judgment from twenty years ago.
Sitting comfortably in the cockpit, Yondu quickly issued the command to reduce the ship’s speed. The giant Spaceships belonging to the space pirates, which had been racing towards Earth at incredible speeds, slowed down under Yondu’s command until they matched the speed of the approaching silver-white Spaceship.
After reducing the space pirates’ Spaceships’ speed, Yondu proactively sent a message to the oncoming Spaceship. His purpose for coming here was to find Star-Lord and make him disbelieve in the nonsense of his so-called biological father.
Originally, if there hadn’t been that other Spaceship ahead, Yondu would have preferred to find Star-Lord without making any noise. But now, that wasn’t possible. Earth had already constructed a Spaceship of this kind, so he couldn’t silently sneak in and find his target. Moreover, perhaps the other side had also noticed Star-Lord’s presence.
“Hey! We’re from another civilization; we mean no harm to Earth, just here to find someone,” This was the message Yondu sent to the approaching Spaceship, and he sent it in English.
After all, Star-Lord had been abducted from Earth, and Yondu’s Spaceship’s database naturally contained a lot of information about Earth, so sending a message in English was perfectly fine.
As expected, after receiving that message, the other side quickly replied. However, when Yondu saw the content of the message, he was even more surprised.
“Yondu, it’s been a long time. I’m Jackson, you remember me, right?”
Studying the message displayed on the screen in front of him, Yondu reached up and touched his smooth, sensor-enhanced head. After a moment, his somewhat puzzled expression lit up with realization. He remembered!
“Jackson! It’s that guy. Looks like his identity on Earth is indeed something special. If it’s him, then he’ll definitely know if Star-Lord has arrived on Earth!” Yondu muttered to himself after lowering his hand from his head.
When Lin Rui and Deadpool had been accidentally transported to some strange alien planet in the universe, they had encountered Star-Lord’s group first and then crossed paths with Yondu’s group when facing the S-Class lifeform. In the end, due to the threat posed by the S-Class lifeform, they had become acquainted to some extent.
Therefore, when Lin Rui replied to Yondu’s message, he quickly recalled who Jackson was. Furthermore, upon recalling Lin Rui, Yondu immediately initiated a video call.
Zzzz…
After a rapid exchange between the intelligent systems of the two Spaceships, Yondu’s video call invitation was soon accepted. Then, on Yondu’s screen, a somewhat familiar figure, albeit masked, appeared.
Although Yondu didn’t understand why someone would be wearing a mask inside a Spaceship, he immediately recognized the person on the screen as the Earthling he had encountered on that alien planet.
“Hehe! I didn’t expect it to be Jackson, my old buddy! It’s been nearly a year, and I’ve missed you, pal!” When they had encountered Lin Rui on that planet, sealed away with the terrifying S-Class lifeform, Yondu had witnessed this youngster’s various capabilities.
So, regardless of the identity he held on Earth now, based on his prior impression of Lin Rui, Yondu was ready to greet him with a friendly smile.
“Yondu, your insincerity is pretty obvious,” Lin Rui, inside the E Grade Spaceship’s cockpit, responded with a smile to Yondu’s greeting.
Lin Rui didn’t mind Yondu calling him by name even though he was wearing the Phantom Suit, considering that this Spaceship was under Lin Rui’s control. Everyone aboard this Spaceship was a reliable super-soldier, so Lin Rui wearing the Phantom Suit was merely a habit at this point.
“Hehe… Jackson, are you here to welcome me? I must say, my reputation is quite grand!” Yondu replied, chuckling.
If it had been before he saw Lin Rui or before they encountered this high-profile Spaceship from Earth, Yondu’s attitude would have been far from friendly. Yondu had quite a reputation in the cosmos, largely built on ruthless deeds.
However, the situation was different now, and to minimize the chance of unexpected events, Yondu thought it wise to be friendly.
“Welcome you, I suppose. And I also know why you’ve come all this way to Earth,” Lin Rui continued after hearing Yondu’s words.
In the original storyline of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” Yondu sacrificed himself to save Star-Lord by giving him his last space suit, exposing himself to the vacuum of space. Therefore, Lin Rui held some respect and goodwill towards Yondu.
Moreover, Lin Rui had already informed Rocket and Drax, providing them with something that could potentially cause trouble for Ego. If they succeeded, perhaps they wouldn’t need Yondu’s help to resolve the crisis. Lin Rui didn’t mind having Yondu as a guest on Earth for a while, at least to spare him from the plot’s fate.
Upon hearing Lin Rui’s words, Yondu’s previously cheerful expression changed. If Lin Rui’s words were true, it meant that Star-Lord had already been to Earth and that Ego had visited too! This was not good news.
“Do you know something?” Yondu asked, although he believed that Lin Rui probably did have some information.
However, the Lin Rui on the screen didn’t immediately respond. Instead, he waved his hand towards Yondu.
“Let’s talk when we meet.”
As it turned out, while Yondu and Lin Rui were chatting, their Spaceships had gotten very close. They would meet in about ten seconds.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you to come over!”
A minute later, the E Grade Spaceship, which had departed from Earth, came to a stop in front of Yondu’s space pirate fleet. Compared to the Milano, the E Grade Spaceship had a slight size advantage, making it like a small child in front of Yondu’s massive Spaceship.
Once the two Spaceships made contact and connected via a suspension corridor, Lin Rui entered Yondu’s Spaceship.
