HOM-Chapter 1213 Explanation

Lin Rui left with the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy and Deadpool through the Spatial Teleportation gate, paying little heed to how Weasel would handle the aftermath of the chaos in the bar.

On the side of the Eastern Hemisphere, he had already started actively contacting SHIELD and discussing the establishment of an Earth Federation. Lin Rui might have a busy schedule ahead of him. Therefore, he needed to take care of some matters while he had the time.

With Deadpool in tow, they arrived at the League of Defenders’ base from Margaret’s Sisters’ Bar. Drax and Rocket had already sobered up, while Deadpool was yet to “revive.”

Superhumans and genetically enhanced lifeforms like them had bodies that couldn’t be compared to ordinary people’s, so they would only get drunk if they actively tried to.

“Jackson, I’m sorry for the trouble.” Drax, after taking a look at Deadpool, who had resumed breathing, apologized with a buzzing voice.

Members of the Guardians of the Galaxy were, after all, outsiders, and they had to give face to the locals on Earth. After getting drunk earlier, Drax vaguely remembered that he might have sent several robust men flying. If those robust men decided to complain, Drax truly didn’t know what to do.

Of course, Drax’s judgment was based on the social norms of higher civilizations in the universe, which didn’t apply to Earth or Margaret’s Sisters’ Bar. In that bar, aside from possibly causing some trouble by killing someone, injuring someone badly wasn’t a big deal.

“Jackson, you took quite a drastic action; you’ve even killed Deadpool! Although he can resurrect…” After Drax apologized, Rocket muttered softly.

Rocket hadn’t delivered any messages, and he hadn’t participated in the chaotic brawl, so he didn’t have much to worry about now. Moreover, he had an agreement with SHIELD, so even if he got into some trouble, it wouldn’t be a big issue.

“This was the most convenient way, and he can’t die anyway. Well, I’m not here to help you clean up the mess. That’s not the main issue. The main issue is that there’s something important I need to tell you.” Lin Rui spoke seriously, paying no mind to Drax’s apology and Rocket’s muttering.

Hearing Lin Rui’s words and seeing his serious expression, Rocket and Drax couldn’t help but become much more serious. After all, the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy had been enjoying a rare vacation since they arrived on Earth.

Star-Lord and Gamora were traveling the world with Ego, Rocket, and Drax were hanging out all over New York, and Groot was experiencing life in a pristine forest. Of course, except for Star-Lord and Gamora, Rocket and Groot were under SHIELD’s surveillance.

Their vacation life was quite enjoyable, especially since this planet was Star-Lord’s homeworld, which made Rocket and the others even more relaxed. Therefore, when Lin Rui spoke so seriously, Rocket and Drax instantly became alert.

“What’s going on?” Rocket asked, his relaxed demeanor vanishing.

“It’s about Star-Lord. I know he’s currently traveling the world with his biological father, Ego, enjoying some rare family time. However, I need to remind you…”

Lin Rui went on to explain Ego’s true identity, the reason he came to Earth to find Star-Lord, and what might happen to Star-Lord in the end. Although these events hadn’t occurred yet, Lin Rui presented them as if they were already a reality.

After hearing Lin Rui’s explanation, Rocket and Drax were shocked but not surprised by the situation. They chose not to question the truth of Lin Rui’s words but to believe in Lin Rui, someone they had faced hardships with, over the sudden appearance of Ego.

“So, what do we do now? Star-Lord has already been deceived by Ego, and I’m afraid he won’t believe what you’ve just told us,” Rocket anxiously inquired.

Although Rocket had placed tracking devices on both Star-Lord and Gamora, he wasn’t eavesdropping or monitoring their every move. However, since Star-Lord and Ego began their global journey, their communication had dwindled, and there had been no news from them in the past two days.

Rocket had been in contact with Gamora to get updates on their recent situation. The messages from Gamora indicated that Star-Lord and Ego were getting along exceptionally well, and Star-Lord had fully embraced Ego as his father.

It seemed like a significant change had occurred in him, although whether it was for better or worse was uncertain. Gamora expressed her concern.

“I know that Star-Lord won’t believe what I say, and he won’t believe what you guys say either. That’s why I’m telling you this, hoping that you can help Star-Lord get through this crisis.” Understanding Rocket and Drax’s worries, Lin Rui continued.

“Star-Lord’s global journey should be ending soon, and Ego will then take Star-Lord away from Earth to his original home planet. I hope you will stay by Star-Lord’s side no matter what happens.

If, in the end, Star-Lord is ensnared by Ego and can’t regain his senses, you can resort to a final option…” As he spoke, Lin Rui leaned closer to Rocket’s furry ear and whispered a couple of sentences.

Upon hearing Lin Rui’s whispered words, Rocket’s previously worried expression turned into one of anger. It seemed like he had heard something infuriating.

“Good! We’ll stick with Star-Lord and make sure that Ego’s plan doesn’t succeed!” Rocket clenched his tiny fists and earnestly promised.

“I’ll protect Star-Lord too! If that Ego dares to do anything to Star-Lord, I’ll knock him into the next galaxy with one punch!” Although Drax didn’t know what Lin Rui had whispered to Rocket, he was equally furious and shouted angrily.

After sharing this long-hidden information with Star-Lord’s teammates, Lin Rui felt a sense of relief. He didn’t know if Rocket and Drax could change the course of future events upon learning this, but he had done what he needed to do.

After discussing this matter, Lin Rui exchanged some items from the System Shopping Center and handed them to Rocket. In the original storyline, the Guardians of the Galaxy didn’t come to Earth and instead dispersed under the Sovereign’s attack, after which Star-Lord was saved by Ego.

Now, the Guardians of the Galaxy had used up all their ammunition in the confrontation with Dormammu, so even if Rocket and the others planned to go to Ego’s original planet to destroy it, they wouldn’t have any energy cells left.

To help Rocket and his team combat Ego, Lin Rui gave them some small items, hoping they would be of assistance. If used correctly, these items might give Ego’s original planet a hard time.

Of course, this was under the assumption that the storyline didn’t undergo significant changes. If the Guardians of the Galaxy’s storyline took a drastic turn, Lin Rui could only hope that Star-Lord and his team would have some good luck, especially in his absence.
