Ego’s gaze extended across the sea to the continent of Asia. Beyond this sea lay another superpower on this planet, Huaxia, apart from the United States. Starting this Earth journey with America and concluding it with Huaxia made for a perfect farewell tour.
Indeed, in Ego’s plan, this was Star-Lord’s farewell tour of Earth. After all, once Star-Lord and Ego left, regardless of whether he had provided Ego with the energy for upgrades, Star-Lord himself would never be able to return.
Ego had brought back the bloodline of his original planet, and there were countless offspring of his kind. Their remains were on the verge of filling an abyss with no bottom.
In Ego’s view, even if these descendants couldn’t provide him with the power to ascend, they should at least serve as sustenance for his father’s planet. After all, without Ego, these beings would never have come into existence.
However, as Ego’s gaze continued to extend, passing through one stretch of the sea after another until it finally reached the continent, his vision suddenly collided with a peculiar energy barrier at the edge of the land.
“Hmm?” Ego, irritated by his gaze being blocked, opened his eyes wider and emitted a soft hum.
He sat up from his reclining chair, his expression becoming slightly more serious, and continued to look in the direction of the Asian continent. His gaze had been obstructed, and Ego couldn’t simply withdraw it; that would be too embarrassing. Therefore, he invested more mental energy in probing that continent.
Buzzing!
After increasing his mental energy continuously, Ego’s gaze finally penetrated the mysterious energy and entered the continent. However, after piercing through that barrier, a faint feeling of unease crept into Ego’s mind as he scanned the entire continent unimpeded.
“Could it be… this continent also has powerful guardians? But Earth’s guardian is just Ancient One, right?” After this uncomfortable feeling arose in his mind, Ego thought silently.
In Ego’s view, the strength of the Ancient One was already formidable within the central region of the universe. A sorcerer as powerful as himself, as a guardian of what seemed like an ordinary life-bearing planet like Earth, was already an underutilization of his abilities.
If there were other beings on this planet with power equivalent to the Ancient One, Ego would find it incredible.
Suppressing the thought that there might be another being on Earth as strong as the Ancient One, Ego’s gaze continued to sweep quickly across the territory of Huaxia. However, that lingering feeling of unease only intensified.
“Hmm!” Just as Ego’s gaze passed over a mountain range in central Huaxia, a thunderous shout suddenly echoed in his mind.
Ego’s gaze, which was a pure mental energy scan, was shattered by the shout containing an equally potent mental energy. His line of sight was abruptly cut off, and his head rang.
It was like being slapped from a distance. Ego’s body, sitting on the beach chair, almost toppled into the sand in an instant. However, he quickly regained his composure and sat back down before the chair could topple over.
Having stabilized himself once again, Ego first glanced at Star-Lord and Gamora on the beach to ensure they hadn’t noticed his recent actions. Confident they hadn’t, he turned away and massaged his head.
The part of his mental energy that had been shattered wasn’t a big deal to Ego, but that shout had a Shock Girl effect, and even now, his head was still buzzing.
“What… is on that continent?” After the lingering effects in his head subsided, Ego thought to himself in astonishment.
Although the mental energy barrier wasn’t much, it was sent out by Ego, a superpower, and in terms of strength, it was at the very top on Earth. Yet, it was directly shattered by that shout, indicating that the one who shouted was at least on the same level as Ego.
“Regardless of what’s on that continent… It’s probably best not to go there. It seems even making a pact with the Ancient One may not be enough security. This planet is truly mysterious!” Finally, Ego shook his head, feeling that it was better to skip Huaxia as the last destination. It was just too unsafe.
However, if the global journey were to end prematurely or if the final destination were suddenly changed, Star-Lord would undoubtedly be suspicious. This required Ego to come up with a plan. After all, he had no desire to venture into that mysterious continent.
Having made his decision, Ego stood up from the beach chair. He had spent enough time in the shade, and now he wanted to bask in the sun. Although this planet was destined to provide him with the source of power for his upgrade, Ego didn’t mind enjoying a bit of leisure.

Bam!
Whoosh!
In a remote corner of Brooklyn, New York, in a bar, sounds of fighting had been echoing for the past few minutes, mixed with various shouts and curses.
Buzzing!
As Lin Rui emerged from the chaotic alley next to Margaret Sisters Bar, he could already hear the tumultuous sounds emanating from the bar next door, with Deadpool’s voice being the loudest.
“Ugh…” Lin Rui sighed and furrowed his brow in frustration as he pushed open the door to Margaret Sisters Bar and walked in.
Bam! Click, click!
As soon as Lin Rui pushed the door open, he felt a gust of wind rushing towards him. With sharp reflexes, he tilted his head to avoid a wooden stool that came crashing towards him.
By the time Lin Rui nonchalantly closed the door behind him, the stool had already shattered into several pieces against the door.
Raising his head again, Lin Rui’s expression turned even grimmer as he witnessed the chaotic scene in the bar’s main hall. Dozens of burly men, along with a few fierce female mercenaries, were engaged in a wild brawl.
Bottles, tables, and chairs were flying in all directions. Fortunately, no one seemed to be wielding more lethal weapons, or else there would be more than just individuals clutching bleeding noses lying on the ground.
The protagonist behind this large-scale brawl was undoubtedly Deadpool, who was dancing on top of the bar counter, swinging a wooden stool. Another important participant was Drax, the brawny figure with his upper body exposed, standing in front of Deadpool.
As for Rocket, who had called Lin Rui, he was currently in a corner, holding two bottles of alcohol, and watching the spectacle with Deadpool’s friend, Weasel.
“Hey! Can you get me a few more bottles of booze before I leave? I can give you some high-powered bombs I’ve crafted myself,” Rocket said nonchalantly, continuing to sip his drink while addressing Weasel.
“Uh… You’re still thinking about alcohol at a time like this! If they don’t stop soon, I won’t have any good booze to give you!” Weasel replied loudly, feeling exasperated by Rocket’s request.
