“Wong! No time to chat; I have to go save the world!” As the golden magic Portal appeared, Strange shouted at Wong while moving towards it.
Swish!
In the next moment, Strange vanished into the magic Portal, and Jack quickly followed suit. Once Jack entered the magic Portal, it instantly shattered into a whirlwind of golden magical elements before Wong’s eyes.
At this moment, Wong was still a bit dazed. The Jack who had been standing in front of him, demanding the Eye of Agamotto, had disappeared along with Strange. After a quick moment of reflection, Wong rushed back into the stone chamber.
“Strange!!…” A few seconds later, a shout filled with anger or frustration echoed in the stone chamber. That was because the Eye of Agamotto, originally placed in the center of the chamber, had vanished.
However, after shouting that sentence, Wong didn’t linger in the chamber but instead conjured a magic Portal leading to the square where the remaining Earth sorcerers, notified by Wong earlier, had gathered. With Dormammu about to breach Earth’s defenses and no Ancient One sorcerers to rely on, they had to protect Earth.
While Wong was gathering the remaining Earth sorcerers to prepare for the impending threat of Dormammu, Strange, and Jack, who had traversed the magic Portal, arrived in New York. Although they didn’t yet know the exact location of Dormammu’s invasion on Earth, Strange’s instinct had led them here.
As Strange and Jack emerged through the magical portal, pedestrians on the bustling streets of New York were particularly surprised by their sudden appearance. Although New York had seen its fair share of superheroes, magical Portals like this one still piqued curiosity.
Consequently, many people quickly pulled out their smartphones and started recording Jack and Strange. However, neither Jack nor Strange paid attention to the crowd’s actions. At this moment, their primary concern was whether Earth would survive Dormammu’s impending attack.
“Do you have a plan? While I can indeed utilize some of the Eye of Agamotto’s powers now, I’m not entirely confident in dealing with Dormammu. After all, he’s a dimension-spanning big boss,” Strange asked Jack as they stood on a busy street in New York.
While Strange spoke, Jack also looked up at the sky. However, at this moment, Dormammu had not yet entered Earth’s atmosphere, so they couldn’t see anything.
“Let’s go higher.” Hearing Strange’s question, Jack didn’t answer immediately but instead waved his hand to create another magic Portal, instantly disappearing with Strange from the busy street.
Click, click…
As Jack and Strange vanished through the magic Portal, the surrounding onlookers, amidst a series of astonished exclamations, put away their smartphones and dispersed.
While they didn’t understand what had just transpired, they noticed the serious expressions on Jack and Strange’s faces. It was possible that danger might unfold here soon, so it was best to leave quickly.
Whoosh…
One second later, Jack and Strange’s figures appeared on the top floor of Stark Industries. They had emerged from the magic Portal and were now standing on the platform where Tony Stark usually landed his Iron Man suit— a place that offered the best view of New York City’s skyline.
If an ordinary person suddenly appeared here, J.A.R.V.I.S. would undoubtedly have initiated the defense system to attack. However, J.A.R.V.I.S. recognized Jack and refrained from activating the defense system. Therefore, Jack and Strange stood on this platform, hundreds of meters high, gazing down at the entire city of New York.
“Now what? You were willing to defy the entire Sorcerer line and snatch the Eye of Agamotto from Wong’s hands. You must know how to use it against Dormammu,” Strange said as he looked at the bustling scene of New York.
In fact, Strange was also puzzled. The Eye of Agamotto indeed sealed a powerful artifact capable of controlling time. However, it seemed that this might not be useful against Dormammu. Dormammu was an eternal lifeform from the Dark Dimension, and time held no meaning for him.
“Do you have the power to reverse time with the Eye of Agamotto now?” Without immediately responding to Strange’s words, Jack asked him in return.
Hearing Jack’s question, Strange raised an eyebrow. He wondered how Jack knew that he could use the Eye of Agamotto to reverse time. After all, Strange had been researching the Eye of Agamotto alone each time, so Jack’s knowledge was unexpected. However, this wasn’t the time to dwell on that.
“Yes, I can. But is it effective? Dormammu is an eternal lifeform, and time has no meaning for him,” Strange nodded and continued his inquiry.
“Dormammu is indeed an eternal lifeform, and time holds no sway over him. However, it’s precisely because of this that certain things can restrain him,” Jack replied, dismissing Strange’s question.
“Explain further. It seems I’ve already sensed Dormammu’s arrival.”
“Think of it like constructing a Mirror Dimension. Can you create a time cage that constantly reverses time?”
“A time cage?! You mean…”
“That’s right!”
“I can give it a try!”
Outside Earth, SHIELD and Stark Industries’ satellite-based joint laser attacks had already launched three consecutive rounds at Dormammu, but he had effortlessly absorbed them, without even burping.
After withstanding three rounds of defense from the satellites in low Earth orbit, Dormammu had finally reached the vicinity of low Earth orbit. Once he crossed this starry boundary, he would directly breach Earth’s atmosphere. At that point, countless ordinary people on Earth would face him.
However, just as the dark misty tendrils at the forefront were about to touch those satellites, three red dots suddenly shot out from three of them. Upon closer inspection, these three small red dots turned out to be Tony Stark’s heavily armed suits, representing all of Tony’s advanced armor hidden within the satellites.
In a situation where the satellite-based joint laser attacks proved ineffective, J.A.R.V.I.S. for some reason had decided to release these three highly advanced armored suits. Although these suits were indeed formidable, they were like ants in the face of Dormammu.
