Nonetheless, Su Jing had no intention of pursuing further attacks against Song Junhao at that moment. Instead, he unleashed five more Red Fire Copper Tree Swords and eight regular flying swords.
These blades traversed the air, their sword lights flashing, and within moments, someone lost a body part and limbs, heads, and brains soared through the air.
“Damn it!” The Undead Being roared when he saw this scene and he could guess Su Jing’s intentions. Initially, he had held the advantage.
First, Su Jing couldn’t inflict true harm upon him, and second, the range of his array was expanding and now he was capable of resisting the angelic Holy Light. By prolonging the battle, the situation would become even more favorable for him.
However, Su Jing had clearly set out to completely annihilate all eight bodies. Even though destroying the bodies didn’t truly harm him and they could be repaired, if all eight bodies lost their mobility simultaneously, it would take some time for them to recover.
During this vulnerable period, they would be at the mercy of Su Jing. If he were to emerge from the bodies, he would be directly purified by the angelic Holy Light, further exacerbating the Undead Being’s disadvantageous position.
“Retreat!” The Undead Being issued the order, and suddenly, black mist billowed forth, filling the area with malevolent spirits. The mist insidiously invaded Su Jing’s flying swords and his spiritual force, causing a slight disruption in them.
Fortunately, the angelic Holy Light proved effective here as it swiftly disperses the black mist and malevolent spirits. Su Jing focused his gaze and observed as the eight individuals shrouded in the black mist lifted several captives into the air, holding them tightly as they crashed through the roof and made their escape.
Having already absorbed the yang energy of several individuals, their injuries rapidly healed. Severed limbs were restored in a matter of moments. Song Junhao and the two African big men, despite their decapitated heads, struggled to catch up, albeit at a significantly slower pace.
“It appears that Song Junhao, Ou Qingsong, and the others are no longer true living beings. Their souls have long been separated from their bodies, rendering their bodies mere vessels. This is why they feel no pain and can be destroyed and restored at will. Poor Song Junhao and Ou Qingsong, they believed they could achieve great success, but little did they know they had been turned into monsters,” Su Jing contemplated as he stood atop the flying sword, chasing after them. He landed on the rooftop, opting not to continue flying.
The primary reason for his descent was that controlling the flight of the sword consumed a considerable amount of energy.
Simultaneously controlling the flying sword and launching attacks against the enemy proved to be quite challenging even for him and multitasking effectively in such a critical situation was a daunting task.
Xiū xiū xiū!
Su Jing unleashed another volley of attack with six flying blades, propelling them toward the eight figures soaring through the air. The eight individuals, clutching lifeless bodies devoid of yang energy, wielded them as crude shields.
Occasional black palms emerged from their spectral forms, swatting away the oncoming projectiles. These ominous black appendages, the true manifestation of the Undead Being, possessed powers beyond the reach of their physical vessels, enabling them to deflect the flying swords.
Yet, with each appearance of a black palm, it was swiftly vanquished by the radiant purity of Holy Light, emitting a vibrant green smoke upon dissipation. This prevented the Undead Being from revealing his true self too soon.
Guided by Su Jing’s expert control, the eight flying swords darted through the air like crimson streaks of lightning and were blindingly fast. The helpless and restrained Undead Being struggled to completely fend them off but he couldn’t completely do so and limbs were severed, only to be reassembled and severed once again, in a cycle of futility.
The eight individuals who had come with a lot of vigor were forced to retreat and landed on the ground and skillfully merged into the bustling crowd. T
his not only made it challenging for Su Jing to deal with them directly but also allowed them to clandestinely absorb yang energy from unsuspecting victims at any given moment. Their treacherous tactics posed a constant threat to everyone around them.
Nevertheless, Su Jing’s relentless assault persisted. He made every effort to avoid innocent bystanders, but when push came to shove, he could no longer afford such caution.
He pierced through groups of ordinary people, mindful that if he showed mercy and allowed the Undead Being to gain the upper hand, not only would these individuals fall prey to the absorption of yang energy, but the fate of the entire Earth would hang in the balance.
A wave of astonishment swept through the onlookers perched on distant buildings, hailing from various nations. Some sensed the imminent danger and promptly evacuated, while others viewed it as a spectacle, finding solace in their presumed safe distance.
“What’s happening over there?”
“Just heard that something happened over there, but I didn’t expect… Oh my god.”
“Those flying swords, are they the legendary flying swords?”
“What’s the deal with those eight flying individuals?”
Excitement and fear brimmed within their bodies, and they fervently reached for their smartphones, eager to capture and document the unfolding chaos.
In no time, these videos spread like wildfire across the internet, igniting a global uproar.
Among the Chinese netizens, the response was particularly fervent.
“Unbelievable! Brother Jing wields flying swords! The legends were true!”
“Could it be that cultivators truly exist in our world, just like in the ancient tales?”
“What are those eerie figures? They’re biting people, and those unfortunate victims seem to have their life force drained out of them, transforming them into lifeless husks.”
“What’s with those motionless individuals nearby? They don’t even flinch!”
The world plunged into pandemonium, and all ongoing events at the Tokyo Olympics came to an abrupt halt. Even if the games had continued, few would have had the presence of mind to partake in the games with the spectacle unfolding before their eyes.
