“Is this considered saving the world…” The disbelief in the hearts of the girls was beyond words.
Although Tenraku’s explanation sounded absurd at first, upon closer examination, it was in line with the actions of the God of the Holy Bible.
He claimed to eliminate all heretical darkness and to lead the world to peace and splendor as its only true God. In harsher terms, he meant prosperity for those who followed him and destruction for those who opposed him. Kill all who oppose him and leave only those who submit!
Actually, with the girls’ intelligence, it wasn’t difficult to come to that conclusion, but they had never dared to think that way. The idea was too crazy!
If the God of the Holy Bible really wanted to do that, how many races and beings he considered heretical and evil would he have to eliminate? Billions??
No, maybe even more than that!
Imagining the rivers of blood in such a scenario, even Rias and her companions couldn’t help but feel their hearts pounding and their scalps tingling.
“Didn’t the God of the Holy Bible call himself the God of Righteousness? Why would he do something so horrible…” Akeno muttered, her face turning pale.
“Maybe it’s because he’s too righteous,” Tenraku replied casually. “Extreme brightness is darkness, and excessive righteousness only leads to terrible atrocities.”
“To him, everything he does is right, and everything he does is all in the pursuit of justice and radiance, to bring eternal love and peace to the world. So no matter what the cost, as long as he can ultimately achieve his goal of establishing the world he envisions, it is all worth it.”
“We often see such people on television, claiming to be partners for justice, constantly shouting about saving the world, as if everyone in the world is in dire straits every moment without their salvation.
“Well, that’s just my opinion. Take it or leave it,” Tenraku shrugged indifferently, but the girls in the hall remained solemn and silent.
Although Tenraku said it was just a guess, it was most likely the truth!
Was the God of the Holy Bible wrong?
No, at least Tenraku didn’t think so. This guy was just doing what he thought was right.
Even Tenraku had had similar thoughts from time to time. Once he became truly invincible, would he domesticate the entire world like he did with the Vampire Clan? It might be fun at first, but in the long run, it would only lead to boredom.
So, despite being partners of justice, Tenraku couldn’t bring himself to do such things…
“Tenraku, what are your next plans?” Rias asked with a complex expression on her face.
“For our sake and for the sake of this world, we must fight the God of the Holy Bible and stop him,” Tenraku replied.
“Rias, even if I don’t allow you to go, you will come with me, right?” Tenraku smiled and Rias nodded firmly.
“Yes, I have to go as well. I want to ask him personally why he killed my older brother and Otou-sama, why he did such things to our Gremory family!” Rias’ expression was determined and Tenraku had expected this answer from the girl.
Understanding Rias’ determination and emotions, Tenraku didn’t want to stop her. Instead, he looked to the other girls.
“You are all my family and comrades, and even future wives and partners. In times like this, I will not say that I will fight alone and leave you at home.”
“Just as I would never abandon you, don’t even think about abandoning me. Let’s all go into battle together!”
Tenraku’s words hung in the air, enveloping the entire hall in silence.
Each girl looked at Tenraku without saying a word, neither agreeing nor disagreeing. This made Tenraku feel a bit uncomfortable.
“Um, can we have some kind of answer, please?”
“In times like these, maybe everyone should just stay home and I’ll go fight alone?” Tenraku tried to salvage the situation, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“Pū hū… Hē Hē Hē…” To Tenraku’s surprise, the girls all giggled, some of them covering their lips, others clutching their stomachs.
Tenraku’s mouth twitched. What was going on now?
Just as Tenraku was starting to feel uncomfortable, Asia finally stepped up to Tenraku.
“Tenraku San, we’re happy,” Asia said with a smile. “Tenraku San didn’t mean to leave us to fight alone. We’re all very happy.”
“As Tenraku San said, you won’t leave us, and we won’t leave you. If Tenraku San really intended to leave us to fight alone, we would be angry, wouldn’t we?”
Asia’s words relieved Tenraku, who hadn’t noticed the misunderstanding.
“Humph, I wasn’t planning on going anyway, but since bad guy Tenraku requested so earnestly, I’ll reluctantly accompany you in the battle against the legendary God of the Holy Bible,” Irina said, folding her arms. “I look forward to it.”
Irina’s tsundere demeanor was nothing new to the others, but Xenovia’s eager expression was quite surprising. After all, wasn’t the God of the Holy Bible the true Lord she once believed in? Was it really okay for her to be so indifferent and nostalgic?
As everyone decided to fight together, Tenraku’s gaze fell on Lavinia standing nearby.
After the battle with 666 (Trihexa) ended, Akeno’s cousin, Himejima Suzaku, had returned to her family.
Though 666 (Trihexa) had been sealed within the isolated barrier field, Qlippoth had been completely destroyed, and the DxD team no longer had a reason to exist, Lavinia, as the representative of the Magic User Association and Tenraku’s contracted Magic User, chose to remain.
“Lavinia, the battle we’re about to face is very dangerous, and this matter has nothing to do with you. You should return to the Magic User Association,” Tenraku suggested.
“Ara, Tenraku, are you trying to drive me away?” Lavinia replied with a hint of hurt in her expression. “I thought I was already considered a companion and family member to you all, but it seems I was wrong.”
Tenraku addressed Lavinia, knowing full well that underneath her beautiful and elegant appearance lay a black belly.
“Well, it’s my fault. I misspoke,” Tenraku admitted. “Since you’re not afraid of death, you might as well come along, my dear Magic User Miss.”
“Hehe…” Tenraku sighed, while Lavinia grinned mischievously.
Finally, Tenraku turned his eyes to Tiamat. He wanted to repeat what he had said to Lavinia, but the Dragon King just gave him a cold look.
All right, Tenraku decided to keep his words to himself. If Asia was going, then surely Tiamat, the mother Berserker Dragon, would follow.
