“Heh, it seems you have truly absorbed the essence of all the god systems of the various sects, Tenraku,” Azazel remarked, closing the Gods and Demons scripture with an expression of genuine admiration.
The other leaders also displayed a mix of emotions, with even Śakro Devānām Indraḥ appearing somewhat grim.
Within this tome of the Saints and Demons Religion, they saw shadows of their respective god systems. However, Tenraku had not simply copied them but had integrated what he found useful based on his own understanding.
It was a brainwashing tool par excellence, incorporating the strengths of various doctrines. Even among those present, there wasn’t a single person who was confident enough to create something similar.
Creating such a scripture required a profound understanding of the teachings and essences of various God systems, as well as the incorporation of one’s own insights and viewpoints. It was certainly not something that could be accomplished in a short period of time.
In other words, the Red Dragon Emperor, Kamiya Tenraku, had long harbored great ambitions and was making preparations!
But how old was he now?
At this thought, even the leaders of the various factions couldn’t help but feel a chill in their hearts as their fear of Tenraku grew.
The Red Dragon Emperor’s rise to power was too fast. In the past, some might have chalked it up to luck, but now, no one could think that.
This was no simple stroke of luck!
“You all understand, my esteemed leaders and seniors, that our Saints and Demons religion strives for justice and splendor, and aims to bring peace to this world,” Tenraku said with a slight smile.
After pondering for a moment, the leaders nodded silently.
Even though the scriptures of the Saints and Demons Religion possessed formidable brainwashing abilities, they advocated for their followers to pursue justice, radiance, and other noble ideals, rather than the selfish and corrupt practices of some other cults.
But no matter how wise these leaders were, there was one thing they couldn’t foresee.
For the followers of the Saints and Demons religion, their pursuit of righteousness and brilliance was synonymous with their Holy Lord-sama.
The will of the Holy Lord-sama was absolute, even if it meant bringing ruin to the world, it would still be considered justice and mercy by the believers!
What a twisted belief!
But these were things that only those who believed in Tenraku understood, not something that the onlookers could comprehend by merely glancing at the Gods and Demons scripture.
“Having Tenraku and his Gods and Demons religion protecting the human world is undoubtedly a good thing,” Heavenly Emperor commented.
“But how many believers and armed forces do your Saints and Demons Religion have now?” Odin asked while stroking his beard.
“We have about 2 to 3 million believers, mostly ordinary human women. As for the armed forces, they are still in the early stages of training and establishment, so our current capabilities are quite limited,” Tenraku replied truthfully.
“After all that talk, you’ve only managed to gather a bunch of useless women. Expecting them to help you protect the world without any power is nothing but a pipe dream,” Heavenly Emperor remarked sarcastically.
Though Śakro Devānām Indraḥ was often annoying, Tenraku couldn’t help but smirk inwardly this time. This was exactly what he had been waiting for!
“Heavenly Emperor has a point. Our Saints and Demons Religion currently has few numbers and little strength. It is indeed foolish to dream of protecting the human world with our current resources,” Tenraku admitted.
“However…”
His demeanor remained calm, but there was a change in his tone, even though he did not continue.
“Tenraku, why don’t you share your thoughts with us?” Azazel suggested, knowing that Tenraku probably had a plan. The other leaders also showed signs of anticipation.
“Since you are interested, I will share my plans,” Tenraku agreed.
“Next, I will have my followers spread the word of the impending disaster in the human world. Meanwhile, our Saints and Demons religion will build churches in cities and towns with large populations. My peerage and I will erect barriers in each church. When enemies invade the human world, we will immediately lead nearby civilians to safety.
“By following this method, even if we cannot protect the entire Human World, we can at least ensure the survival of the majority of humans.”
“Of course, I will need the approval and support of all the leaders and seniors present.”
Tenraku laid out his plan, but Śakro Devānām Indraḥ couldn’t help but chuckle with amusement.
“Haha, Red Dragon Emperor, you’re not trying to protect the world. Your goal is simply to use this opportunity to rapidly expand your Saints and Demons Religion!”
While the other leaders remained silent, their expressions betrayed their thoughts…
They were no fools. If they followed the Red Dragon Emperor’s plan, once the crisis passed, the Saints and Demons Religion would be hailed as the savior of the world, which would inevitably lead to its expansion. It could potentially become the next great religious force, similar to the Church!
The world’s pie had already been divided among the great powers. Allowing the Saints and Demons religion to grow at this time would upset the delicate balance of the world. They didn’t want to see that happen!
Tenraku was well aware of what these leaders were thinking and saw no need to hide his intentions.
“That is right, I intend to strengthen my Saints and Demons religion. All of you leaders and seniors understand the importance of protecting your people and interests. Do you expect me and my followers to play the role of naive heroes who save the world but gain nothing?”
“The importance of the human world goes without saying. Without human faith and the vessels for reincarnation, both the Devil World and various mythological realms are doomed to decline.”
“If my Saints and Demons Religion can protect the Human World, it will naturally benefit everyone,” Tenraku stated calmly, and everyone had to admit that his words made sense.
“I think you’re the one who benefits the most,” Śakro Devānām Indraḥ said with a cold smile.
“So what? My Saints and Demons Religion does the most, so naturally, we should reap the most benefits,” replied Tenraku.
“However, you leaders and seniors need not worry about my unseemly methods. We only recruit female believers, and even among them, only a few qualify for membership.”
“I think you all understand what I’m saying,” Tenraku concluded, crossing his arms. With that, he saw no need to say more, and the leaders and seniors fell into deep thought…
