“How long do you plan to keep hiding, Rizevim?”
As Sairaorg and his Peerage entered the towering city hall, Tenraku’s gaze shifted to the empty sky.
“Haha, looks like I’ve been found out.”
“Red Dragon Emperor, I didn’t expect to meet you again so soon.” Rizevim’s figure materialized in the sky, looking down on Tenraku and the girls.
“Ah, I didn’t think I’d see your disgusting face so soon again. Be prepared. This time, you won’t escape!” A Holy Demonic Sword formed in Tenraku’s hand as he spoke with a cold expression on his face.
“To be honest, I’m quite surprised you managed to find this place. Quite commendable. However, this is my stronghold. Today, who takes out whom is still uncertain.” Rizevim sneered with an air of confidence in his tone.
Since the incident with Heaven’s forces, this guy seemed to have become more serious and was no longer as eccentric as before. But regardless, Tenraku’s objective remained unchanged—
To take out Rizevim!
Having crossed paths many times before, Tenraku didn’t bother with small talk. He activated his Spirit Power, preparing to launch an attack.
But just then—
“Stop, Kamiya Tenraku!”
Vali’s voice rang out, followed by the descent of several figures from the sky.
Apart from Vali, Bikou, Arthur Pendragon, and the demonic wolf Fenrir, there was also a colossal armored Giant.
The Giant, named Gogmagog, was said to be a war weapon created by God long ago. After its functions ceased, it was placed in the Dimensional Gap, but Vali reclaimed it, making it a member of Vali’s team.
“Vali, I found Rizevim first.”
Just as they were about to engage in battle, Tenraku felt somewhat annoyed by the sudden interruption.
“He’s mine. Don’t forget your promise.” Vali glanced lightly at Tenraku as he spoke.
For a moment, Tenraku seemed at a loss for words. It seemed he had promised Vali to hand over Rizevim for him to deal with, which was also why Vali had joined the DxD Team.
Though feeling somewhat speechless, Tenraku had no choice but to relent, dissipating the Holy Demonic Sword in his hand.
“Then I will let you have some fun with him first but I’ll step in if you can’t handle it.”
“Hmph, we’re more than capable. We don’t need your intervention.”
Having grown accustomed to Vali’s aloof tsundere attitude, Tenraku shrugged and turned to his Peerage.
“Yubelluna, you all engage in free combat. Clear out the nearby mass-produced Evil Dragons.”
“Yes, Lord Tenraku.”
Saluting Tenraku, Yubelluna, and the girls took to the sky. Mittelt and Kalawarner followed suit.
With Sairaorg handling matters on the Emperor’s side and Vali’s team dealing with Rizevim on the other, Tenraku was annoyed that the two heads he found were snatched away by others. He decided to search elsewhere, taking Raynare with him into the city hall building.
“Rizevim!!!”
As Tenraku left, Vali’s gaze turned to Rizevim in the sky, his voice incredibly cold and deep.
“Oh, it’s Vali, my precious one. Long time no see.”
“Don’t give me that terrifying look, grandson. It almost scared me.”
Making a frightened expression, Rizevim continued, “Vali Chan, when I heard your Sacred Gear was taken by the Red Dragon Emperor and you were imprisoned in the Watchers of the Children of God prison, I was really worried. But then I heard you escaped from prison and awakened the ability to nullify Sacred Gears. I was so happy.”
“I am proud of you, my Vali, you awakened the same ability as me and it is much stronger than that useless son of mine.”
“Shut up!”
Interrupted by Vali’s angry voice, Rizevim adopted a nostalgic tone.
“Why, why did you make that man do such things back then?!” Vaki asked with a cold glare, he seemed to be suppressing something.
Bikou and Arthur were somewhat stunned. It was the first time they had seen Vali so angry.
As teammates of Vali, both Bikou and Arthur were well aware of Vali’s history. It seemed that when Vali was younger, he and his mother were subjected to abuse by his Devil father.
Unable to endure it any longer, Vali left home and was taken in by Azazel. And it seemed that it was his grandfather, Rizevim, who had influenced his father to commit those acts!
“Vali Chan still holds resentment over those events, huh? Well, since you want to know, I’ll tell you,” Rizevim said with a devilish grin.
“Vali Chan should understand, that your mother was just a tool for that man to satisfy his desires,” Rizevim continued, his face contorted into a devilish smile.
“After all, we’re all Devils, and who hasn’t done such things a few times? But what surprised me was that your mother became pregnant and gave birth to you because of it. And you, you were even infused with the power of the legendary White Dragon Sovereign.”
“From a young age, you displayed talents far beyond ordinary. Although you only inherited half of the Devil Bloodline, you were more outstanding than many pure-blooded individuals.”
“Because of this, your useless father feared you. He feared that you would surpass him in the future, always living in fear and anxiety, never caring about anything else.”
“So, I gave him a little advice, ‘Since you’re afraid, why not bully him while he’s still young?’ And to my surprise, that cowardly son of mine actually did it. Whenever he bullied you and your mother to tears, he felt a deep sense of accomplishment and security.”
“How does it feel, Vali Chan, to know all this? Surprised, aren’t you?” Rizevim’s face was filled with that malicious grin, seemingly eager for Vali’s furious reaction.
“Haha, truly a psychologically fragile and twisted scum of a father,” Bikou couldn’t help but sigh, rubbing his chin.
“Well, most Devils are like that,” Rizevim said casually.
“What about that man now?!” Vali asked, his face dark with anger, unable to comprehend how someone could abuse him and his mother for such reasons.
“Vali Chan wants to know what happened to that man?” Rizevim laughed heartily. “Haha… I killed him!”
“He may have continued the great Lucifer Bloodline of Devils, but he was always a coward, always fearful and spineless. It made me furious just to look at him, so I couldn’t resist killing him.”
“And what? I killed that guy. Is Vali Chan very angry?” Rizevim laughed loudly as he asked.
“Angry for that kind of person? No, I’m just happy. Now that he’s dead, my only revenge target is you, Rizevim! Compared to that useless man, you are the one I most want to kill. You, who are unworthy of bearing the title of ‘Star of the Morning,’ Lucifer. Don’t worry, after you die, I will inherit the title of Lucifer!” Vali’s laughter was cold as his aura surged.
“You even want to kill your Grandpa? Vali Chan truly resembles a real Devil, much stronger than your useless father,” Rizevim remarked, narrowing his eyes.
“But, Vali Chan, you’re still too arrogant if you want to kill Grandpa now. Whether it’s magic or abilities, I don’t think you can beat me.”
“Hmph, who knows the result if we don’t try?” Vali retorted.
“Prepare to meet your end, Rizevim!”
With a cold snort, Vali wasted no more words, unleashing a wave of magic towards Rizevim…
