“Happy New Year, Tenraku Senpai!”
“Rias Senpai, President-Sama, long time no see.”
“Akeno Senpai, Yubelluna-Sensei…”
It was the beginning of school again, and Tenraku and the girls walked into Kuoh Academy, and were greeted by some of the classmates they were familiar with along the way.
“Time really flies. This is our final semester here.”
“Yeah, in a few months, we’ll graduate and leave.”
Expressing their sentiments as they greeted familiar faces, Rias and Sona wore expressions of nostalgia.
It was now the third semester at Kuoh Academy, the final one for third-year students like them. Though just a school in the Human World, Kuoh Academy held significant meaning for Rias and her peerage. The thought of leaving soon filled the girls’ hearts with a tinge of melancholy and reluctance.
During the first class of the new semester, the school distributed graduation direction surveys to all third-year students. Some would continue their education at universities, while others might choose to enter the workforce.
Tenraku and Rias’s peerage had already discussed their post-graduation plans. With their long lifespans, they didn’t need to rush into jobs or manage family affairs immediately. Instead, they all opted to continue their education at Kuoh Academy’s university department.
In addition to choosing their graduation direction, according to the school’s regulations, both Rias as the Occult Research Club president, and Tenraku as the Kendo Club president would have to step down. Since they were graduating soon, their club positions needed to be transferred to the juniors.
Even the Student Council, which oversaw many school affairs, would undergo changes. Sona mentioned that she would be busy with the upcoming Student Council elections.
After school, having arranged to go home together with Rias and her peerage, Tenraku headed to the Kendo Club.
The Kendo Club girls had arrived early. When they saw Tenraku, they surrounded him with joy.
“Club President Sama, Happy New Year!”
“Club President Sama, it’s been a while!”
“Club President Sama…”
Tenraku had a fondness for these club members. After exchanging greetings with everyone, he clapped his hands.
“Everyone, please take your seats.”
Though he had been the Kendo Club president for less than a year, Tenraku commanded absolute respect here. The girls immediately formed a neat line and sat down in the dojo.
“It’s been a holiday since we last met. I’m sure everyone has a lot to talk about. Today, let’s skip the swordsmanship practice and chat freely with your friends!”
“Yeah!”
“Club President Sama is the best!”
The Kendo Club girls cheered loudly at Tenraku’s words, excited to catch up with each other after the break.
“Just a moment of silence, please. Before we begin…”
After calming everyone down, Tenraku snapped his fingers, and beautifully wrapped gift boxes appeared in the air, landing in the hands of each Kendo Club girl below.
“These are New Year gifts for everyone. Please open them.”
Tenraku smiled as the girls expressed their surprise and gratitude.
“Thank you, Club President Sama!”
“We love Club President Sama the most!”
Each gift Tenraku prepared for the girls was unique and delicate, not particularly valuable but thoughtful and tailored to each girl’s preferences. As they opened their gifts, the girls cherished them as treasures.
Once everyone had settled down, Tenraku engaged in conversations with the girls about their holiday experiences, filling the Kendo Club with a joyful atmosphere.
Hours passed, and it was almost time to end the club activity. Tenraku clapped his hands again to quiet down the girls.
“Now, I have something to announce.”
“As you all know, in the final semester of the third year, all club positions must be transferred to the juniors. That means, starting today, I’ll step down as the Kendo Club president.”
Though they were aware of this, the girls had subconsciously avoided discussing it. Hearing Tenraku say it out loud, the Kendo Club girls became excited.
“Club President Sama, please don’t leave us!”
“I can’t accept this! Absolutely not!”
“Me neither, I don’t want Club President Sama to leave!”
For a moment, the Kendo Club was in an uproar, with the girls unable to accept the fact that Tenraku would step down and leave. Some even began to cry, stirring up more emotions among the others.
Just a while ago, they were happily discussing their holiday adventures, but now they were all in tears. Tenraku couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.
“I’m really sorry, but I can’t stay here forever.”
“However, even after stepping down as the club president, I’ll still come every day to guide you all in swordsmanship during this final semester.”
“There’s no need to be too sad. After graduation, I’ll continue my studies at Kuoh Academy’s university department. If you all join the university department in the future, we’ll meet again.”
“And if you like, I’ll become the president of the Kendo Club in the university department. Then, when you join the university department, you can join the Kendo Club again.”
Tenraku patiently comforted the girls, and hearing his words, their emotions finally stabilized.
“Really, Club President Sama?”
“Then let’s make a promise, Club President Sama. Don’t break it!”
“I’ll definitely join Kuoh Academy’s university department and become a member of the club under Club President Sama again!”
“Me too, Club President Sama, don’t think about abandoning us!”
With each girl making a vow to join the university department, Tenraku was touched by their determination.
Though he had become the Kendo Club president on a whim, it seemed like the decision had turned out well. Because of that, he had gained this lovely group of club members.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be waiting for you all in the university department.”
“Now, let’s talk about the new club president.”
